Good man. Meanwhile last night I clocked up 100km of driving for fun, and spend some of those kilometers with the laptop to fix the overly aggressive 3-4th shift which was so quick it made the fan belt slip! After trying a combination of settings I finally cracked it so it's much smoother, no more slipping fan belt. As it turns out, setting the accumulator duty cycle to a very low range solved this without sacrificing performance.

Excellent! Solid output there thats for sure.

haha Either way, looks like a fun tidy machine. Just drive around Otago when it's a warm summers day.. mmm bliss!

Mmmmm did a beautiful 160km drive in the V8 day down to a friends house in Huna, what a machine! didn't miss a beat! Couldn't be happier with it. Also stopped by to see Brent, he ended up being very helpful and supplied me with a 17" space saver I needed to clear the M3 brakes at the front!

Haha, that saves a lot of work and time. Receipts can be eye watering with projects such as this. It's also easy to look at it and wonder where all the money has gone, but it doesn't take long to add up when you count every small part required to make it all go properly. Are you based in Auckland? I'd be keen to check this out one day.

Yeah especially the decent Lexus versions. I'd love an LX470, but they are still the best part of 50k!

Had it for a while until I was forced to sell it for a little Honda haha, the parents didn't like their 16 year old in a V8!

I like this. Custom build yourself?

Changed the gearbox shift points last night and got angry when the laptop battery died while driving to smooth out the 3-4 shift.

Good idea, where did you source yours? I've been thinking about getting one too.

A large engine, small car swap? Awesome work! This will make for an interesting drive!
-
Welcome mate Those are two very nice machines you have there!

Alloy oxidation is a really annoying on older engines, seems paint is the only remedy. Looking very good anyhow!

Cheers, yeah most pleased, finally that awkward hurdle out of the way!

haha, too right it is. Thanks man. Meanwhile on Sunday the alternator has packed a sad and stopped charging.... Murphys law at work no doubt I've removed it and shall give it an inspection this afternoon, I get the impression its dirty inside and could work with a clean.

I mean hypothetically haha, but your car is serving as a proof of concept for what is possible down the road.

Mmmm dope man. A well built M style E36 touring is definitely a worth while build.

I've been in a friends from work, while nice and loaded with fun features, the quality is a bit shoddy in some places, plastics wearing, leather seats separating, electric gremlins etc - that said he is a bit rough with it and doesn't care. This video is an interesting one, whether or not a limited market problem in Aussie I'm not sure but interesting nevertheless.

A great day today, got the cert plate riveted on, warrant of fitness, registration and insurance

I'm just going to leave this 512TR rear quarter shot here to cleanse the eyes. Mmm classic 80s.

That's one ugly Ferrari! What model is that??

Mmm nice work Alex! Bet you can't get enough of that V8 engine exhaust note! That said, how do you feel the sound compares to the RS4 V8 you had? - I get the impression the E9X M3s are quieter compared to the RS4.

Looks like a very nice example James! Got much planned for it?
