  1. As far as I am aware those stock gauges are very useless. 3 modes, cold, warm/normal or hot. So basically once they reach hot, damage can already be done.
  2. Thank the lord this is not my car, this is some snow ridden thing!!
  3. That was a great watch. Gotta love some enthusiastic Japanese racing banter.
  4. Yeah, is sounded rough under deceleration at 24-25 seconds in the clip, sounded like a subtle knock of sorts. Nasty.
  5. Check this out. What do you think happned here?
  6. Custom modified shaft would work 500-600 though.
  7. Or better yet, build an M3 replica touring E46 with the V8 S62, fit a E92 rear muffler and system by deleting the tyre well so you end up with space like the E36 M Coupe. Perfection!
  8. That is pretty damn interesting. Glad to finally see this on a dyno... ~7% peak torque loss!
  9. Looks like it's coming along very well!
  10. +1 on what Darren said. $250 could be better spent elsewhere imo.
  11. Nice one Brent, would be an interesting drive for a week! Not a car I'd rush to buy though.
  12. Where did they fit the turbos?!
  13. It's probably not that bad, but just seems costly for a 318i... yet for all intent & purpose that is basically the last of the E46 verts in mint condition so I can see some of the value in it.. Would be a good buy for a bit less, maybe 30 or so. BUT, you could just buy a slightly older M3 for the same amount with 2-3x the kms...

    BMW bodykit

I doubt you would find anything here in NZ, could import a Motorsport kit from Germany ex BMW etc.. but shipping will be expensive, bumpers are massive items to ship. Leaving it stock might always be an idea? Spend the $1000-2000 you'll end up spending on a Stereo or something you'd get more use out of.
  15. So where will they be made now, USA?
  16. Perhaps a better invest would be a set of 4-2-1 custom headers and a nice exhaust + retune over a supercharger kit. Those centrifugal types seem a bit of a second-rate option too, vs a positive displacement blower or exhaust driven turbo. Totally different way to build boost. I suppose they aren't cheap kits either?
  17. ^ +1 on some BBS wheels, maybe the CSL-ish M3 type wheels. Seems like a good price you paid! What is the currently mileage on it?
  18. Uh oh, shying away from the diesels?
  19. Good work Tristan, bit of a dampener to have this weather when picking up such a car!
  20. Interesting discovery about the door number count. Huh, I was under the impression it wasn't too bad back then. Not much lost if that was the case!
  21. Personally I'd rather buy a stock M3 V8 given the opportunity. I could never buy such an expensive car knowing it's been modified like that, I'm not such a big fan of high revving M motors having the extra stress of a supercharger bolted on... Not to say they are weak engines, obviously they can handle it but for how long?
  22. ^ That's a good way of looking at it Graham, I would have to agree with you.
