Hello. So I have heard in the past that stainless braided brake lines are illegal in some situations. I was looking to up grade my E36 old rubber brake lines since they are getting tired. Instead of just going for new OEM brake lines, I thought I may as well go one step further and get some Troutman braided lines which are Dot 4 approved. (Model: PLB533106D) I will be having the vehicle certified later next month, so would these Troutman lines be passable in the certification? Or will I run into trouble since they cant be inspected visually due to the steel jacket?

Not quite sure what you're getting at with that. Are you saying it's under powered? You must not forget that the CL500 of that era was just the 'entry level' of that higher end range Mercedes model, the power and torque it made was perfectly fine for the market it was targeting, 225kw was plenty for it's intended purpose. If someone wanted a more sporty go hard machine they have the options of the Mercedes V8 supercharged/ V12 Twin turbo etc.

Word. I'm at a loss with this whole ordeal. I always assumed buying a 330i would be easy, the market it swamped with them... if you can only get a rough one then maybe you can't afford one so get a 328i instead, plenty of those or even a 325i, they are all the same 4 door car at the end of the day - compromise, and get a slightly less powerful version that is cheaper!

I'd make it into a pseudo DTM car.... like a pace car. Couldn't imagine it being particularly sporty though... quiet heavy aren't the early 2000s CLs? .
