Yeah. But I don’t do that much. So mostly when I’m pulling in /out of a parking space or my garage or driveway. -
Click from drivers side front wheel well
hunter replied to hunter's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Is only noticeable when turning the wheel during slow manoeuvring / turning or when coming to an abrupt stop actually. have been doing some searching and a lot of older forum posts mentioned wheel bearing. It been intermittently happening since before I had my brakes done but frequency has increased recently -
I have what can best be described as a clicking coming from my drivers front wheel well area. It has been getting louder in the last few weeks. it presents itself when moving off from a stand still or turning the wheels (in either direction) at a stand still or moving slow. And I’m sure I might be able to hear it when driving with the window down. But not sure. I thought it might be cured whe I replaced the rack ends, but no. Could it be wheel bearing or possibly sway bar links. I can’t seen anything obvious. Any ideas guys? @hqstu or @BreakMyWindow in your vast experience have you guys heard such a noise.

More new bits arrived last week, installed this week by Mosens. I'd had a weepy Power Steering suction hose for a while, was tough to adjust as the screw was facing the block, making it impossible to reach to adjust. it was also done up to tight it had split the hose and pissibly crakced the resivour. For <200$ NZ i replaced (including install) a new PS resivour and hoses. now i dont have to top up the fluid each month and the steering feels nicer too.

Lol. This was 15 years ago. No vape crews then.

I wish I hadn’t sold my 1999WRC blue, Subaru WRX STI V-Limited. Faster and lighter than the regular 1999 spec, manual air con flap in the roof, manual centre diff control. Light incredibly fast with shorter gear ratios than a normal V5 sti. Considering what they are worth now amd I sold it for 16k. It makes me a bit sad. But mostly cause it was one of the most engaging cars I’ve ever driven.

Cheers Adro. Yeah Besian has the reputation but charge like crazy! the X8R kit has a lot more gaskets and stuff in it, including anti rattle kit i've not done any of this before but make sense to me to do it all while the engine is open. not that i'll do it myself but rather get my local indi to work on it.
-
Sweet! was it the X8R kit? seems like a good all inclusive package
-
Did you use a kit to do the Vanos seals etc, Martin? or buy parts seperatly. thinking of having mine done

I saw one of these in the metal at Coombes overthe weekend, striking car in person and the grille is ok looking fomr a standing height, rather than lying down in front of the car like an Automtive photographer

New rack ends left and right in amd all aligned again. Ready for some adventures once we put a stop to the rolling waves of sick kids. only major thing left to do for this car is full wheel refurbishment of the Style 42 wheels. rest is maintenance and enjoying the drives.

Car failed its warrant today. Excessive play in right from rack end. order placed with fcp euro for the Lemförder tie rod kit. Great value at 104 usd for left and right plus boots. And the fcp lifetime warranty.

I used Chemical Guys all purpose cleaner to clean the surface. This was applied with a fresh micro fibre towel. I did this several times. I then used Maguires interior protection spray to bring back a bit the blackness and add some protection. this looked good but I wanted more black so used Solution Finish black trim restorer for a final coat.

Rear sill trim replaced today with a great condition 2nd hand one for an amazing price. and new clips. I feel whole now. Lol.
