Are you saying you’ve spent $4.5k on it since you’ve owned it? On what?

Does the CGA apply? Normal life of a water pump is more than 2 years….

Good grief. Given the typical parts mark up, that’s probably still a profit to them.

I used a company in New Lynn to do 4 wheels, they were helpful and cheap. https://www.powdercoatingfactory.co.nz/index.html

I know, that’s why I try and give the current petrol one a motorway run regularly.

She has walked it a few times, but Auckland weather in winter….especially this year. Plus I develop gorse pocket syndrome every time I see the price of one.

Thinking of changing a car, maybe to a 1 or 3 series diesel. But, it will only do short trips, like 2km each way. Plan is that it gets a scheduled motorway or longer run every two weeks. Am I asking for trouble?

And fixing the roads and roadscape. It’s amazing how many roads have power poles or large boulders (King Country especially) only a few feet or less off the driving line. There’s no leeway.

If you bought it from a dealer only a few months ago, look up the Consumer Guarantees Act, understand it and then take it back to the dealer. The problems won’t have “just suddenly” developed. There’s also the MVDI disputes process, although I wouldn’t out too much faith in that.

At over 6 years old, Continental BMW offer a basic fixed price service at $395 from memory. And it comes back clean. -
I have a F15 30d, love it. Reset the trip computer 3500kms ago, running at 8.9l/100km including the Auckland commute. Great for the family and just a nice thing to drive. It’s fast enough for the family. Regular servicing, brakes and tyres after 37,000kms and 3 years.

Once they “somehow” lose momentum on an uphill passing lane, they become less of a danger.
