    Quick rant thread.

In the central North Island, they fix pot holes by dumping a few large shovel fulls of tar seal into the hole. They don’t flatten it or roll it, they leave it for you to hit with your car, like a small judder bar at 100km/h. Doing this in winter so the tar seal can quickly set into small solid mounds is an added bonus.
  2. Hyper has bumped their price up to say they're $1500+ each, 40% gets them to just over $1k. They were on TM at $680 new and the ones I looked at were $500 each. Tyroola (probably also old stock) is $618. It was just a thought, I have a spare set of 20", so can hold off on the 21". Think I'll run with my "no'. Momo are about $1500/set in 20".
  3. Runflats, on the X5, probably 50/50 city/country, they’ll only last 18,000km anyway. They felt quite dry if that makes sense. I’m leaning no, not enough discount to try.
  4. I think I’ve made my mind up on this, but curious for any feedback. New, wrapped in plastic tyres, manufactured in 2017 (4 years, 15 weeks), offered at a 27% discount on new price. Yes or no?
  5. We pulled a Haines V198 that was 1905kg dry on the trailer once with an e36 320i auto. Can’t remember how much fuel it had in it, but it was a 200l tank. Probably wouldn’t do it again.
  6. Check with BM Workshop first, their prices were very good on a couple of items.
  7. Spareto for good shipping. Size 44 jandal for reference.
  8. Bugger. Both screens out to remove headlining.
  9. Tried Pickapart for a space saver? Just calculate the size to see if it will work. Also, if you get a flat with non run flats, you need to stop immediately. I shredded an $850 Michelin in 800m between noticing and stopping.
  10. @E28E30, first of the F15s, late 2013. Not sure if it’s Continentals only, they’re owned by Sime Darby and the offer came through them. Thought I’d seen it somewhere else in Akkd, but maybe I was imagining things. Has to be over 6 years old, fixed price for 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder or V8 (I think).
  11. Had the X5 serviced at Continentals on their Value Package. Quick,, impeccable service, great chat about the car, good advice, really was 10/10.
  12. Wish I had the spare cash, It would make for a good drive back from Wgtn after Xmas. GLWS.
  13. Enjoy, they can be a real mission in the wet, I’ve slid around at 15km/h. An older BMW mechanic told me once that they used to get regularly damaged on mechanics test drives in the rain, so only the foreman was allowed to take them out.
  14. Says they retail for $532 in the ad. And yes, legit goods.
  15. Yikes. Obviously can't split it up? I just sent 2 wheels to Wgtn (46x46x36) and 23kg for $29.90.
  16. One of the silvers isn’t it? Too light for Delphin. Congratulations!
  17. @Sammo, is that e30 above the one that got pulled out of a shed recently for like $7k? Has baskets on it and most of the kit by the looks, with no interior?
  18. “Has some of an Mtech 2 kit and the most sh*t tail lights you can buy.”
  19. Thought of this? There are 3 different diesel options, not sure which one you have. I know 3pedals had one on his. https://www.racechip.com/shop/bmw/x5-e53-2000-to-2007/30d-2993ccm-218hp-160kw-500nm.html
  20. Great North Rd, where Audi are now.
  21. It’s a mongrel anyway, albeit a very good looking one, why not just convert it? It’s cheap considering what it has on/in it.
  22. Here you go, in this thread (from 2015), it says listed in 2009!
  23. It’s longer than that. That car has been discussed on here years ago.
  24. For a minute I thought you were trying to tell us something.
