  1. You can have the plate type LSD in your M3 modified to behave in a similar fashion by having the ramps machined asymmetrically, even to accommodate additional clutches/shims to lower temps & extend the life. moe: Keen to see some more pics of the beastie. Interesting choice of diff, I had a torsen in the E30 for a while, found it a bit unpredictable in comparison to the plate type LSD's, and particularly aggressive in the wet. But the E30 has quite different rear suspension to the E46, be interested to hear your feedback once you've had it on the track a bit.
  2. If I had a large budget, I'd do a built M50B25 using a B28 crank, Forged pistons & rods with a Link ECU. More original than chucking a jappa motor in, and a setup that can pump out some big numbers if you have the $$$
  3. I prefer them without the centre caps, black spokes, thats how I run mine on the rear. Naked - FTW
  4. Might be more appropriate in a size 00 for my little fella, I think the wife would give me a slap if I got one for her LOL
  5. Sounds like a great conversion, put some pics up if you can. I thought the open class rules did not let you put an engine into a chassis with more cylinders than they came from the factory with, ie. E46 only came with 4 & 6 Cyl engines, so only BMW 4 & 6 Cyl engines could be used!?!?! Or have the rules changed??
  6. E36 offset, et35-45 works depending on the rim & tyre diameter/width/profile used. For reference, I used et38 17x8" wheels with 245/40 Conti's on the rear of a PFL E30 sedan with just a "good roll" on the arches (with Kings SL springs).
  7. Mine doesn't have one sorry. It seems to be a recent thing that they are stipulating them, mine was cert'd in '03 and wasn't told to put one in back then.
  8. Well the SC will be spinning @6000rpm when said throttle shuts, displacing 1400cc/rev so that = a decent amount of air I bet. Looks like a BOV from an EVO, which are pretty decent as far as OEM BOV's go. You may not have a prob. running 6psi, and good to see the horrible stock TB elbow gone so it shouldn't blow apart. The only setup's I have seen are the stock 1g-gze & 4a-ge a BMFR (323 Turbo) with an SC14 and a Altezza RS200 running the "blitz" kit (uses an SC14), which was the only one running the TB after the SC, but it also maintains the magnetic clutch and disconnects the drive on closed throttle and with no BOV. You could look at something similar if you have any issues, but with 6psi and only possible probs on high RPM gear changes it should be fine as you say. Keep up the good work!!!
  9. Is it a pretty big BOV / recirculation Valve?? I'm sure you can imagine how much it has to flow when the throttle shuts @6000rpm. Not to mention if the SC is still drawing & compressing air at a greater rate than the BOV can recirculate it, ie. flow through the AFM = lots of fuel, not much air into the engine. This is why the toyota's run the TB before the SC and provide an idle bypass (when the SC is switched off) and not a BO/Recirc Valve, and MAP sensors not AFM's.
  10. Well they certainly fill out the 16's don't they. The speedlines must have a very square profile where the spokes interface with the barrel for caliper clearance. Are you using the radial mounted SL6's (SL6R) on the front?? What size tyres are you planning to run?? Sorry for the 20 Q's
  11. Are you running the throttle body before the SC like the original toyota setup?? Increasing the size of it??
  12. For the sort of $$ you paid I would have gone for a race rotor/hat combo, like the PFC Direct Drive Full Floating rotors which have a lot of great feed back from racers in the US. $606ea+shipping at the moment for the E46 M3 from Bimmerworld. Not much more $$ if you include shipping for a serviceable race setup. INFO My 2c Don't forget we like to see pics of all the goodies too!!
  13. I believe Grant sold it a while ago, for pretty cheap ~1k if I recall (old listing has lost the $$ over 45 days, conveniently you could say), and this guy is trying to make a quick buck on it!!! My 2c.
  14. Not too slow just a sensibility check, dreams that were/are too big. It's all so easy in your head.... At least you will be putting them to proper use conrad!!!
  15. Yes 17x9's , drooled about them for a bit I did. Were the pegs etc... on ebay.de?? Bugger!!!
  16. Especially with those WTF!!! looks when you are swinging on a 2m long lug wrench at the side of the road with a flatty trying to get the wheel off LOL
  17. SECTION 2.5 Actually says 20mm
  18. Hopefully you haven't missed a good deal. You may also want to rethink 35mm spacers, the thickest you are allowed for a LVVTA Cert. is a 25mm and must be bolt-on with integral studs & hubcentric.
  19. With some big-ass 25mm spacers up front and a cert plate later....
  20. I think he is referring to the E46 328i carriers which go with the 300x22mm discs and can use the E36 caliper. The E46 330i uses the thick 325x25mm disc, which also can be used on the E36, but you need the calipers/carriers & discs. Matching rear E46 328i discs & calipers would be a good upgrade also 294x19mm
  21. IIRC from the ETK, Australian spec'd E34 535's have medium case diff's
  22. Not a swap for E30 hubs. They fit the E30 M3 spindles.
  23. Mine were $270ea I think, long time ago. And the ti stuff was $800 from Mosen's
  24. It's running just shy for -4deg. camber at the moment and castor is ~9deg. Generally there is less need to change caster and not within the same range you'd change camber anyway. I built my E30 over 5 years ago when none of that stuff was available and was probably one of the first to document the 5lug swap back in 2004. There is definitely a lot more 4 lug support these days, and a lot more 'product' in general is available now. In 2003 there was no support for E30 performance parts in NZ, I had to import all the bushes from the UK, probably bimmersports first groupbuy if I recall, and wheels, well you could get anything bigger than 15's that weren't custom made (ie. simmons etc...)
