Not being rude, but if you only wanted ones person response, there wasn't much need to post for the whole world. You could have PM'd *Glenn* or better yet, picked up the phone for an instant answer, pretty sure he doesn't charge for that. slow day + PMS = don't mind me.....

Can you move the subframe further forward if you only need "a little more space"?? This will give you a bit more castor but may move the wheels too far forward in the arches!?!? Just a thought...
-
Depends what it is compared to. For an E36, I think it's a bit low (6-7 degrees IIRC). Don't know what a 2002 should have?? Offset CAB's could also be used if he needs more. I would be V.Happy with those readings given the amount of custom work done.

A Morrie isn't a "Euro" it's British. It's like calling a Ferrari "American" I guess if it were made in Ireland (being part of the EU) it might slip in on a technicality, but NO.

+1 If I was to go FI, I would have stuck with the M10 and turbo'd it. An SC'd M44 just seems a bit soft, the '02 needs a bit of rawness to it. Stick with the carb'd M44 My 2c

Have a look on Bimmerforums, they was quite a debate when the R888 came out as they were aloud to use the RA-1 or R888 in the Spec E30 series in the US.

Your Top 3 most rubbish cars you have driven
E30-323ti replied to Driftit's topic in General Discussion
No.1 - Kia Rio (Wagon) Old office hack car, did horrific "japanese wheels stands" even when empty. Would wheel spin in the wet with-out provocation, and not due to power, just the worst suspension geometry possible, which equated torque steer for Africa in the dry. And the clutch got exponentially stiffer, which had to be depressed the whole way to work & for the starter to turn-over. No.2 - Nissan Navara (2.7l petrol) Old survey wagon, was so gutless it couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding, and would wallow around on it's R15 LT tyres No.3 - Misti Magna (Wagon) Wasn't that dis-similar to the Kia Rio above, albeit, bigger & more powerful. Clutch let go driving up Baldwin St in Wgtn (the F-off steep one over the motorway), wasn't good. -
I always read these things the day after, doh!!! Going to the Martinborough gig with the Wife & Boy, will give you a wave LOL

Hey Marty, Just a heads up as it may widen your customer base. I think the E36/46 also have the same caliper mount spacing, so the adaptor could also be used, albeit with a different disc (say the E46 M3 328x28).

I'm guessing you found this in your travels: Vorshlag LSx Swap Parts Might find the Headers & steering parts don't fit (LHD Vs RHD). But at least the engine can be "bolted in" easily off the shelf, then it's a bit of plumbing & wiring. One of the cheaper LS1's around

LMAO that would be 'cause the best tool to use is a wet knife/blade.

Is that like "pick-a-part" but backwards Brent?? You stroll around 8am Saturday, start assembling one of Brents pile of spare parts, and drive-away in it that arvo?? (provided you find a windscreen with current reg & wof)

Having done the 1JZ thing, and now redoing it slightly differently... Next time I'd go for a 3RZ w/turbo or 4G63. SR20's are too $$$ for what they are IMHO

I heard the 3.0l's were hard on gas (round town). Findings??

TMS J-Stock vs Ground Control
E30-323ti replied to Nobimmer's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
I think "Andrew" got the TMS J-Stock kit for his E30 years ago. It is a set of shocks, springs & swaybars for a specific race class in the US, so should be good for a dedicated E30 track car. The "Ground Control" you refer to is the "coil over kit + shocks" I presume?? This relies on you knowing how you want the car to handle, the type of events it needs to be suited for, and how to adjust / tune the set up. If you aren't buying the pre-modified shock tubes with them, it is likely you will need to do some custom work, although they may come with parts to "make do". -
Bit of useless info, but I had the exact same model, and had a similar Failure (5" wide black line down the picture). Died 1yr out of warranty, went down the consumers guarantee act path (ie. not fit for purpose, did even come close to meeting the advertised 30,000hrs PDP life, no parts/repair support) and now have a Full HD 42" PDP as a replacement. It was a bit painful, but so was paying $4500 in '06 and only getting a couple of years out of it.

I've been pondering the same Q of late. $10-20k is big range. An E39 Motorsport 540i-T would be at the top of the list. But the best value for $$ seem to be the later model Nissan Stagea's. They are also a good size wagon without being huge, a bit on the fugly side, but kind or grow on you bit. I think a E46 Touring would be a bit on the small size. I'm liking a Volvo V70R around the corner also, but is about 2x the budget

Glad to read it is nice & quite for you! Nice looking exhaust you've built there too!!
-
Just a word of warning if you don't have a very relaxed WOF inspector: I had that exact muffler on the E30 when I first got it on the road, and DAM was it LOUD!!!! I'll find a clip of it somewhere. Try this!?! I grabbed a low profile 40 series flowmaster and put that in the middle and it was super quiet. Before I pulled off the road it was running just the 40'er at the rear (due to a driveshaft CSB change), and it was a bit on the loud side, but not like the original setup.

Was massively cheaper when I brought the first GB in (~2003 iirc). I was approached by the distributor at the time (c/o PF), but the issue was, he had no E30 stock as they didn't know what we would need (and weren't going to front up with the $$ for stock), so was essentially going to do the same as I did, + Margins. Also due to the quantity (~10-12 sets of CABS, TA & SF bushes) we got a good discount directly from PF. Would be interesting to see if times have changed ($$)

I think to the lay-man (non-car enthusiast), anything changed/modified beyond the factory would get lumped into the "boy racer" category if you asked the question with a specific example infront of them. Things like stock EVO's & WRX's can also get tar'ed with the same brush by association. And a stock EE90 corolla can still be a "boy racer" car with the right clown behind the wheel. If I parked my E30 somewhere and asked the question, I would say it would get the unfavorable "boy racer car" brand. Given the facts, character reference, extent/detail/purpose of the modifications & intended use of the vehicle, the answer would be somewhat different, however, the public won't know that when you drive past, nor would Mr.Plod if he thought my exhaust was too loud or I was displaying excessive acceleration (in relation to what? the kia rio next to me at the time!!). If I could afford/justify a tow vehicle (3rd vehicle) & trailer (and store it where), I wouldn't even use the E30 on the road (although it can be fun, albeit very anti-social).

Looking forward to seeing the resized pics. I agree the SC14 will be a tad small for the 1UZ and will have to spin pretty fast to keep up which = pretty hot intake charge. Are you running an intercooler? Spotted these on TM, what a bargin and near perfect size: M90

You might need to look into other marques for a suitable donor that has the rack on the back, similar length (inner tie-rod to tie-rod) & a ratio advantage.
