Driftit 2078 Report post Posted June 17, 2021 Will snap a photo tomorrow. I think the 235 looks weird. Will take a vote.

qube 3570 Report post Posted June 17, 2021 (edited) you're running these wheels right? http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/269 in which case its a 7.5" front so the 235 will look very "bulgy" NZTA tyre/wheel size guide screenshot: Edited June 17, 2021 by qube
Driftit 2078 Report post Posted June 17, 2021 Yeah I think I will just order the correct ones tonight and take the hit on the fitting and balancing.
qube 3570 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 Im surprised the tyre shop allowed the fitting of non regulation size tyre on the rim.
KwS 2425 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 How is a 235/45 ok on a 7.5" but a 235/40 isn't?
qube 3570 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 I think it has something to do with the curvature of the sidewall profile in relation to the width of the tyre and the rim. for example if the width of a tyre is wide but the rim is narrower you get a sidewall shape that is greater at the tyre tread than it is at the mounting point on the rim. whereas if you have a taller sidewall profile, you allow for the sidewall to bulge and curve evenly so its more balanced (if that makes sense) red - 235 45 blue - 235
Driftit 2078 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 Pretty standard tyre fitting monkeys down here. They know how to use the machine and that's about it.
Jacko 2156 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 If your wheel widths allow it go for a square setup on tyres, they're way more entertaining when driving with enthusiasm. Stagger just results in understeery.
Sammo 2544 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 ^^ This Have square set up on the E46 and its fun - downside is same dish front and back and maybe a little more tramlining.
Driftit 2078 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 No good down here on rural roads. Will just aggressively follow the ruts. But I can also honestly say I have never had understeer in this vehicle. Even on the track.
