The 130i Thread

Recommended Posts

So I might need to sell my car quite unexpectedly, would I get 12k for it? 130i seem very cheap on trademe, but none are "modified" nor seem to have been mechanically sorted.

If you guys can give me some idea of what I could get for mine it would be greatly appreciated

Basically everything that's a mechanical issue on the N52 has been sorted on it, mickey mouse flange being done this week. Big list of work done/parts replaced below. All done last 10k kms unless otherwise stated.

Has all the oem interior parts that have been replaced with it in boxes. BMW Roof racks too.

4 door White Manual, 185k kms.

Also have some parts like oil filters, engine mounts and sump gasket for work I planned to do. I also have some extra bits but can't recall atm.

Bad things on the car are cosmetic aka stuff I was doing this year after mechanically sorting it. There's a dent in the rear left crease line. Slight damage to front bumper plastic beside front license plate. I would cut and polish car before sale and paints pretty good apart from a couple stone chips.

The interior, everything is nice except for the head lining and the wheel. Headliner is sagging and has been pinned up, and wheel and insert are not great. I have two replacement inserts and leather for the wheel that requires stitching. And a $700 quote for headliner to be done properly.

I doubt the switches are on CAN bus so my plan should still work.  Who/how would I get this coding done?

See pages 28-35 of the attached training manual. While it's for the DCC system, functionally it's very similar to plain cruise control - the DME (engine computer) processes the same inputs as the LDM in this case.

The main thing to note:

Coding can be done DIY with NCSExpert or Protool, or if you want to pay someone to do it, contact our forum sponsor HellBM.

Does it have cruise control, if so, I'm very interested!

No cruise control, but you can buy the stalk and retrofit with some coding.

I've had 3 130i and only my E81 had the cruise control, it's a rare option.

Agreed, 130 pricing is flat as sh*t at the moment, cheapest in the world (clarkson voice)... but most of the ones on trademe look ropey as.

I think you could get 12k, if you found the right buyer (and they would be getting good deal). The problem is finding the buyer at the moment. As sh*t as a it sounds, you might be better off financially to part it out and sell it "stock" as a looked after example on tardme. Or, dont sell it.

Yeah it's pretty dire on trademe/marketplace for 130i pricing. I know it's not the best time to be selling a vehicle but may not be helped 🤷

Parting out could be an option.

12k was kind of like minimum needed, would love to hear I'd get that easy haha

Just to add more info on the car there is a "build" thread on bimmersport here. I'm super keen to hear values if anyone's been tracking sold prices.

Prob should have written this before but the Work Emotion D9r Wheels are pretty distinctive, they are perhaps the only pair in BMW stud pattern 5*120 in NZ, and custom ordered for size/offset for this car. And you can't order them in 5*120 from Work anymore. They're staggered like oem and look epic.
