Just wondering if anybody has hit this before. Noticed after stormy crap weather that the left rear seatbelt was damp - tilted rear seat, popped bolster off and found dampness on the wheel arch (near the wiring). Left it to dry out - inside the garage! Looking at my rear windscreen/window, looks like the rubber seal is pretty poked - perished, splitting and it looks like some little chunks have come out so guessing the window needs to come out and a fresh seal installed. Yet another plastic/rubber failure!!!! Oh well .... appreciate any advice/experience with this.

Mechanical warranties for privately sold cars?
TermiPeteNZ replied to mossline's topic in Maintenance
AA will do them as well - but they are much tighter on what they'll cover in terms of vehicles - and require thorough mechanical inspection beforehand.- 7 replies

Mechanical warranties for privately sold cars?
TermiPeteNZ replied to mossline's topic in Maintenance
MTF Mt Victoria can supply Vero (same as Autosure - they underwrite Autosure) on privately sold vehicles. I did this for my X5 purchased via TradeMe. Jono Jono.White at mtf.co.nz. Gold info attached - Platinum also available at a bit higher cost with greater coverage but more stringent requirements around age/kms. Vero are fantastic to deal with. I have a Platinum (Autosure Extreme) on my 545i. MBI Gold rates sheet.pdf MBI covered parts.pdf- 7 replies

New AMG E class *Goddamn* thats a nice car
TermiPeteNZ replied to kwhelan's topic in Other European Cars
I have mixed feelings about the modern Mercs - but do prefer the E-class out of the bunch - it's not as sweeping/blobby as some of the other models. All subjective anyway Whatever the aesthetics the new E63 will be a beast!! -
Very nice vehicle!

Hey @BarFu007 how did you get on?

Pics please Hopefully with 230 on it, it will already have a bunch of work done. My E60 545i is just about to hit 150kms and I've had a load of plastic and rubber crap to sort out. Enjoy! Did you get a Mechanical Breakdown Insurance plan with it? You can attach one even with high kms (refer to attached PDFs). 2006 B5 Alpina Supercharged... 37K
TermiPeteNZ replied to LemonHunter's topic in TradeMe discussions
And given its rarity I'd be pretty sure that you couldn't put a mainstream MBI plan on it .... so no way of offsetting the risk ... Love to drive - not so sure about owning Call me chicken. -
That's a lot of wheels dude!

Epic Brent - I've drooled over and pondered S8s as the price looks super reasonable considering what they are. Always had a soft spot for S8s since 'Ronin' Before I bought my E60 I took an A8 for a spin (3.7 V8) and liked it. Then I measured it and found it would never fit in the garage :| They are huge! The other thing that put me off was the much higher cost of the Autosure/Vero MBI cover as soon as you step to the A8 and S8 - same band as M and AMG. And after the $ I've spent on my 2 BMWs even with MBIs I'm cautious/chicken about moving 'to the next level' Interested to see how your ownership journey goes! Keep us posted! Honestly I'm not envious

I'm sure he'd either be (a) horrified or (b) amused that we are analyzing his TradeMe ad with this much interest

http://bimmersport.co.nz/forum/47-trademe-discussions/ Makes for sad reading - dude found 'the right car', gave it plenty of love and tidied it up - but the wife found it to be 'the wrong colour' - so it has to go Sh!t happens!

Think you're right Martin! The leather looks miraculously better and overall the presentation is great.
