1 pointI am wondering just how many positive votes or likes we get each day. I have tried posting "likes" on a few things and each time I get told I have used up my quota for the day. On that basis my quota must be zero. Is it like a bus schnapper ticket where you buy a top up. I know fish quotas have been reduced recently and maybe my quota has been sold or stolen.

1 pointWould be helpful if you could take a pic of your current exhaust system. Your car may not have a Y resonator, particularly if it already has a pair of resonators. It will only need ECU flash if your car has post cat sensors and even then, it may not need it (my 540i didn't). It will almost certainly have pre-cat sensors but post-cat's less common on older cars (my 1996 528i didn't have them but my 2000 540i does). Best vs cheapest option is to remove cats, keep resonator/s and switch the stock muffler with your new one.

1 pointThey aren't sealed at all and quite serviceable, but hardly anyone does. It may be terminal if it's slipping and need rebuilding. I would check oil level first and not throw money at it till you can determine what is actually wrong. Contact your local Auto Trans specialist.

1 pointHave a look at SWANN insurance, $305 incl Track Day Coverage, no mileage limit, full cover $15k for my E30 race rally car.

1 pointWe're with State. Been okay, but we're obviously paying too much now for an old car doing low Ks. Had a small ding in our Jappa recently and no issues at all with State paying for the repairs. The other driver was at fault. And someone backed into the LF guard on the 540 about 3-4 years ago (while it was parked up) and we had no dramas having State pay up for that as well. So we're happy with them, but just need to do something better for the old girl (the e12) now. We're still waiting on Jeff Gray European to get back to me about the tears they put in the back seat leather in the 540, btw. Getting more grumpy by the day. We're not big customers for them, but I have sold BMWs for them, not they they know this, but I might stop being a disciple for them if they don't get their act together.

1 pointPink would be making a statement.. However not really my cup of tea. I apologise for my gender, and for the change of picture - But the angel eyes of somebody else's car made me feel like a thief, and what better than a proud owner and her nice example of a BMW. By no means this is a 'perfect' thread, or one that takes the brains of a genius to answer, but I want to present my BMW to the taste of myself, as well as those who will be taking the time to sneak a peak at her when she is driving past, so heck what better way to ask opinions than on a discussion forum. I spend the majority of my time reading the amazing projects the guys on here get up too (but like others, I don't reply) not just twiddling my thumbs thinking of what to post next. I am a mother, I tend to have better things to do. Thanks for the colour suggestions, how to source shadow chrome or is it a shop job? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1 pointAll this talk is making me wanting to do something about my situation. What's something cheap that gives heaps of pull and doesn't drink to much?
-
1 pointYou don't need them, all they do is regulate the sound. You might find that the sound in the cabin's pretty unpleasant without them though.

1 pointGo fishing, pull the plug, get into a dinghy, have a beer and put a line over the side and catch a cold. Works all the time and gets rid of an old piece of sh*t.. (Perkins)

1 pointHoward, I think you should be buying a 4x4 as they are the only thing that look cool that are high enough to get up your driveway
-
1 pointYea did that. The low kms one i linked was shagged. Leaks everywhere. Worn suspension. sh*t not bolted down. And all servicing done by volvo dealer. Got one at 137kms would never guess it had done more than 50. And oh my god. A 4 hour drive home with someone who doesnt stop talking about absolute sh*t. Introduced herself to the car dealer by saying "oh you sounded much skinnier on the phone" what the f***. A contract is sounding good now. Will sort out ragtops contract first

1 pointi have never agreed with anyone more than i agree with you right now chris. she lives in a middle of nowhere town with one mechanic who probably doesnt know volvos at all. she drives like crap, reversed her car into my house three times so far (fairly straight driveway) And then she test drove an s60 and that was that. nothing else would do. We may yet see a thread coming up called "jason tries to tidy up the worlds most f**ked hyundai sonata" or maybe "scrap value or bust"
