I personally have only met the owner of the 540`s that this topic is about once. This was purely in a professional capacity when Hellbm worked on his car. For someone who was prepared to spend thousands restoring his 540`s to a high standard I take my hat off. How he markets his car is not my affair and if I was genuinely keen on viewing/test driving then its as easy as calling the number provided. My issue is about trying to see what the point is when it comes to openly putting the sh*t on someone and their style of selling a car. How does rubbishing an auction, regardless of the price, give the forum a positive standing in the wider BMW community. I guess for some it`s learned communication where there is a strong urge to follow the leader with sad f..kin posts to build their ego or something.. Small wonder that people with a wealth of knowledge and positive input tend to shy away from this type of negative environment. Oh and here`s his number - 021568168. Call and tell him what you think of his marketing style, pricing. Me I`d rather appreciate the workmanship and effort that went into bringing these cars to such a high standard.

Hi All, Probably have met a bunch of you on the euro cruise a few weeks back, but thought I should post in here with some photos and specs and what not. Never intended on purchasing a BMW, I was planning to buy a 'new' car in two years time when I hit a certain age milestone .. it was probably going to be an Mitsubishi Evo X. Been driving modified turbocharged Japanese cars since I got my license. 89 Mitsi Cyborg Turbo 1.6L 4wd 95 Nissan S14 96 Mitsi Lancer GSR 91 Nissan Skyline Coupe (still have this as my race car .. 220kw at the wheels, half cage, suspension, harnessed, brakes, etc) But an opportunity came up out of the blue to purchase an M3 for a good price. High kms so I was apprehensive, but thought I would have a look anyway. When I showed up, I would not have placed it at 280kms. 1997 E36 Sedan Evo S50B32 - 236kw interior reupholstered exterior resprayed - ($5000 spent by prev owner and 6 months in the shop) Carjam listed the car as 95km/day by the longest owner .. BMW dealership in Hamilton confirmed that the car was owned by someone who did a lot of open road driving/commuting. Full service history from purchase, all through Jerry Clayton, Team McMillan and Coombes Johnston. Factory standard apart from some different rims. Recent maintenance I've seen so far: Koni shocks in the front New Munroe shocks in the rear New genuine rear brake discs Bunch of suspension bushings around Brand new Bridgestone RE0002s all round, 225 fronts, 245 rears. And here are some photos. purchased condition: Factory First Aid Kit (probably wouldnt trust the original content after 17 years!) Found out my spare was the original Contour M3 rims, and preferred the aesthetics, so picked up a set to make it more standard! Will add more photos (decent ones from my DSLR soon .. phone camera isnt the best! Everything is factory standard .. everything.

I am wondering just how many positive votes or likes we get each day. I have tried posting "likes" on a few things and each time I get told I have used up my quota for the day. On that basis my quota must be zero. Is it like a bus schnapper ticket where you buy a top up. I know fish quotas have been reduced recently and maybe my quota has been sold or stolen.

As a side note when an auction says new engine done 4500kms i dont think anyone would presume it was a brand new crate engine.

Well done. The sr20de will handle whatever you throw at it. Have seen multiple examples of the stock engine boosted and running 280kw daily. Make sure you have a good tune and fuel and you'll be fine!

Not one but two E61 M5 wagons on the same day. N.Z new grey one at Precision Autowerk and 3 hours later a blacked out import on Wairau Rd, spots were literally 500 meters apart.

Spotted a couple of gems today on my way back from taking the kid swimming in Newmarket. This E30 M325i And this immaculate E31 840ci - and the turquoise blue colour was stunning in person (though maybe not everyone's cuppa) - not sure if it's a stock colour, Individual or custom painted but it looked great EDIT: I really want an E31... So good to look at!!

Yeah James is the 2K Cup man up here. He is on the forum. 2k Cup is a big series now. If you want to get involved in racing this is defiantly the cheapest way. The next being the E30 Series. Plenty of mates to be made in the series. Piece of crap race cars generate great Camaraderie. Haha. We ran his 2K Cup MR2 in the 6 hour Enduro at Hampton downs. Didn't even come last!

a brand new motor & gearbox ex. germany? wow. that must have been big $

When he said new engine that is what it is. Brand new ex Germany along with all manual components. There is no comparison to the 11k Hamilton car. In a different league entirely. The owner wanted new everything. There was nothing wrong with the old. 10`s of thousands spent and as he said if it dosen`t sell there are other plans. I`m surprised at the negative ill informed comments that seem to come from the same sad f..ks the minute that something appears that is well finished often at great expense. Actually I`m not surprised.. I`m not buying it but I appreciate the effort that has gone into something that the owner wanted (without cutting corners). For someone that wants the same end result for 1/2 the price its at the right $$$ Unless you are genuinely interested why bother with the same tiring bad mouth sh*t whenever anything decent appears for a price you think is wrong.

I have the Bosch platinum pus ones (about $100 from SC) they do what they are supposed to do but no real difference from the OEM BMW ones apart from maybe longevity. Maybe doing the Vanos seals while you are doing the plugs and rocker gasket will save you a job later as more than likely that is due/near due, also a tip i got off here is using WD40, rags and a toothbrush instead of degreaser to clean the engine bay works awesome.

No...... drain oil, replace oil filter, fit new level sensor in sump, refill with oil, run motor, recheck oil level....all done

Well, I can see where this is heading already. I'm sorry "Mojojoe", you sound like the kind of person I'd hate to get stuck talking to at a party. Please take your sub-standard intellect and persistent verbal diarrhoea elsewhere. Thread closed.
