2 pointsNew Boot for her today. Unfortunately the current one had clear coat fading, a missing lip, and the badge was placed incorrectly and reverse lights fog/faded over. So picked me up a new one! With all necessities attached and intact paint (Will look a million bucks after a cut and polish) First two photo's are of before (still on the car) Will pop it on tomorrow

1 pointA couple of people have asked me how the car is going so I took a few shots after a quick clean today. I was seriously thinking of selling it recently but I've decided to keep it and fix the issues which have been bugging me. Done: BBS RZ412 refurbished. Rear damage fixed and painted. Added Bluetooth to factory stereo. Sanded, filled and painted the bumper trim. Replaced all door handle rubbers. To Do: Replace faulty LKM. Passenger seat thigh support and headrest not working. Drivers seat headrest not working. Drivers outer door trim not sitting correctly. Door cards need reparing as the sun has melted the passenger one. Aircon not working. New bonnet and bootlid badges. Add 535is badge to rear. Paint wing mirrors and take care of stone chips. Tints. Need something to handle the Kapiti Coast sun. Drop the front if possible. Currently on Bilsteins and Eibach springs but the front is 10-20mm more than I would like. Rear screen heater not working. Leather recondition. Rear passenger door handle sticks open. Driver rear door doesn't lock with central locking. Tint rear indicators red. Rest of car could really do with a paint correction etc, but I need someone on the Kapiti Coast to help sort that out. Various trim clips need fixing/replacing. It's a much bigger list when I write it out like that, perhaps an e39 530 msport is a better bet after all. Still, not bad for having just clocked up 300k kms.

1 pointApologies if I have caused any upset, but I hate pretentious statements that some people make in their ads, when what they are selling is run of the mill. At the end of the day is a auto 320i, I would be blown over if someone genuinely contacted the seller to ask why it's so cheap, considering it is priced at the top of the market. But good luck with your sale. Interesting that all of those pumping the value are E30 owners.

1 pointthanks for the input......like the description says, its my interpretation. just like some people might not like the ACS stuff, i personally dont like non period rubbish put on cars that look totally out of place, but the person owning that car might love it. Its all subjective. And like Graham says...the ACS pin strip and I S badge is easily removable if its not to somebodys taste. If you drove this car I think you would feel the price is justified...honestly with the suspension completely done it makes for a great comfy cruiser, and much more character and style than a jap car of similar price... and not everyone wants a balls out road burner..... oh and by the way, BMW did make a 320i s for portugal and italy in the 80's it was exactly the same spec as mine with 4 doors, mtech 1 spoiler, is front splitter and is badging, and 15" bbs basketweaves. the only thing different was it had the M3 motor (reduced to 2 litres), so to look at you could not tell the difference....which is what i was going for. Now if I could only find a 2.3 M3 donk and box and find a way to fit the impossible......hmmmmm. Then it would not be for sale. :-) cheers

1 pointWell, it already had a superchips chip for the 3.0,and it ran well, not optimal, but well. Now , more so I guess. Put it this way. I am more than happy. After having gone through all the work of transplanting the 4.0, mucking around with valley pans, welding stuff to remove rounded and busted nuts, and all that grief, getting a custom flywheel made and all, knowing that the engine runs more or less as good as it can, some may say better than factory, without costing as much as one Bilstein insert. Hell yeah. Cant stay in first very long when I hit the loud pedal, and the additional torque means, I can meander around town in 4th a very low speeds. I would recommend this to everyone who has a 540i I guess pretty easily.

1 pointThat would be my car........I think the price is reasonable, considering the gear that's on it and the condition it's in which is not a tired old e30 that's been thrashed within an inch of it's life and is now a worthless POS,which unfortunately or fortunately depended on how you look at it, is becoming more common. If someone broke it down for parts they would still win. Anyway...I have had good interest, I do realize that selling cars is about what the market is prepared to pay, not what you think it's worth, and I think the price I put on is a good starting point. Besides you will see that I have reduced the price to better reflect that market. And yes, it may not be a more popular 325 manual, or similar but it still has a place in the market. Cheers

1 pointIt puzzles me that so many people just seem unable to drive with anything approaching a level of competence. The police enforce the speed limits, as they are told to do, but they're not stupid. The traffic cops see all manner of bad driving on the roads, but there seems to be no attempt by the authorities (not the police, perhaps) to improve driving skills, or address what is an increasing problem.

1 point+1 I've only ever heard good things about Aeroparks and have also used them before. Really polite employees as well!

1 pointInstead of respraying boot (Has clear coat fading and no spoiler) I purchased a 'new' one to pop on with all bits and bobs ready to go! That goes on hopefully tomorrow and the angel eyes arrived today so will do that tomorrow also! Yay. She's going to look like a beaut.

1 pointno dont plastidip or paint. first stone to hit will leave horrble silver marks and look cheap. buy proper black grills or don't bother I say.

1 pointCould be because the speed limit is 80 and peoples speed creeps up as the enter the tunnel? I am always paranoid they have speed camera's. To the guy traveling in the silver Hyundai Tuscan southbound near Mt Wellington last night, speeding up and then tail gating me when I move into the passing lane to pass is not cool bro, I hope your brakes and reflexes got a good test... to the guy in the middle lane who speed up when I moved out to pass, f**k you too douch... all this resulted in my date getting very upset with me and I didn't get any action at all. Yours sincerely, the wanker in the White Renault Other drivers are just sh*t, I just set my cruise control and try and maintain a pace but you all seem to think its some kind of race and feel the need to block and play games, I just want to get home at as smooth as possible... just pick a speed and stay at it and everything would just flow so much better.

1 pointThis is true. I did an AUX install last week for my cousin in his 2001 528i, mind you it only had the single din tap deck. But im pretty sure it would be similar. I followed this page, http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=356827 but have a look at these, i use them all the time. Yours might be the one on the right Now if you have an iphone, you can get the docking stations off trade me for around $15 and 99% of them fit into the center ashtray if you remove it.

1 pointSoundStream or Kicker I have found to be best in a BMW especially with the decent sound deadening. I ran the Tarantula series in my E46 and E39s with cross overs. As for the installation, as per above, Trends seem to have a good name...

1 pointWould recommend Trends. Excellent service there. Haven't had any issues with their headunit install they did in my friends Honda.
