Cyclists and bus drivers. Gfs dad is a retired manager of a bus company and now driving bus' to keep him busy. He is also an avid cyclist with an amazing range of carbon road bikes. Not being able to vent my frustration at the dinner table about how much they irritate me really irritates me.

Cyclists.. Get all righteous with drivers, but ignore all the bloody road rules. Run red lights, go over pedestrian crossings, cycle on the footpath (one guy on his mobile), pull straight out into traffic, wobble all over the road, don't wear helmets... No wonder so many get knocked off their bikes. Being a smug git isn't going to help when your flesh hits a metal car you twats!

Everything is subjective, including any claims of HP gains, it all depends on the circumstance. This is a sales trick for noobs. Pod filters only work if you have a sealed cold air box around it with adaiquite air supply into the box at max RPM. The problem with most pod filter applications is people remove the filter and box setup. This is a bad thing because instead of your engine sucking in cold air it is sucking in warm/hot air form your engine bay. All modern ECUs which measure air temparature will retard ignition etc as the air temp goes up. This is a safety reaction to stop pre-ignition in the cylinders. Ideally you want a flat filter to evenly distrubute the air across the MAF sensor. However this is minimal and in real world examples dont make much difference in a normal NA setup. Something like the M3 CSL filter which is inside the carbon airbox it is more critical, because it is closer to the intake plenium chamber where swirling or uneven air pressure is more of a problem. The M3 CSL isnt tuned using a MAF so can get away with this setup more practically. Here is mine, A 89mm pod filter with cold airbox (pod obviously inside the box). My engine is dynoing slightly higher than stock @ the same ambient air temps. Mine is a Simota brand which Ive had in the car for 4 odd years now and its been awesome. K&N at the time didnt do a 89mm pod filter so I went with these guys. Been impressed. http://www.broomfish.co.nz/shop/index.php?cPath=500_580_591 I would like to build a carbon airbox type setup with flat panel filter system .. There are some companies who make this type of setup for my engine, but it is very very expensive. It would only improve the look and sound in return. I would also need to realitically retune for Alpha-N instead of MAF.

There is some appallingly poor construction in some air filters, as in some oil filters. Good ones may not make any difference in terms of power, but they certainly will make a difference when it comes to reliability.

This is how the rear of the tyres sit now. It still sits too close to the guards. I have a few options: 1; Raise the car - I don't think so, I love the stance on my car, so will avoid this option! 2; Change the tyre size - mmmI like the OD on these, and I do not want the stretched look 2; Pull the guards - From what I have seen online, this looks terrible, and is usually followed by a more professional resolve 3; Flares - This brings up more issues but it seems like the only way to go. 4; Change the wheels - I want the 11's!, not only that, I could change the inners and outers, but the idea of having a set of wheels and tyres more expensive than the car does not appeal to me at all. I could have done that from the beginning. 5; Increase camber - Not really an option, I like the way it sits now, and the $$$$ will just get out of hand. I have seen some flares on E34's online and None of them appealed. I need some wheel travel so even if I squeezed the inner lip and outer guard together like paper, I think I would still be in trouble. This looks like the go. IN this shot I am trying to squeeze my pinky between tyre and guard. No chance. It's not showing off, it's showing why you DONT try putting 11" (total 12") wide rims on the ass of your E34.

I haven't timed it, but I think for me it would be around 40 seconds incl getting out of bed. Maybe 8 if I sprinted.

Chassis wise should be the same as any other touring. IMO depending what engine/gbox is in it, 3.73 or 3.91 are a good compromise in diff ratios for Highway / City driving. Drone will probably be dependant on what exhaust system it's running, OEM exhaust won't drone. If it's had a muffler cut out with straight pipe, or a shitty rear box then definitely. Pretty sure this was on the BMW page a couple months back, some D Bag bought it and stripped the skirts and bits to flick off separately because it was sold cheap and sold for even more + bits missing. Good base though, Just need to sink some $$ in eh!

They can't rust Allan... they have a built in recycling spray system built in which covers everything with oil. This prevents the leaking water from starting or creating rust issues
