It's only the inner circle of Kaukapakapa society and one or two others get to meet Max. Max is Kayne Barries dog and some people have been calling him Tommy. He asked me to take up cudgels on his behalf and get people to use his proper name. I am helping out a mate.

30 Minutes isn't bad... I've been contemplatinng it for a while on the Touran... just haven't got to it yet. I don't need the engine to last too long... but I'd like to be able to sell it after the conversion is done and recoup some $$$ If it's only 30 minutes, I'm going to have to give it a go soon. It does sound a bit like a diesel (euro, not a jap one!)... though I hear that's sorta normal at idle - but I worry it's the lifter poked too . The Thermostat is a bit knackered too... But I can't be arsed doing that - especially since I brought the wrong replacement. I've got one of the typical NZ New ones - Dealer serviced except for 1 oil change before I got it... and nothing on it is quite right! Just the minimum done to justify a dealer stamp in the book...

Replaced poor fitting front top hat nuts with correct sleeved capped nuts to suit m sport strut brace, put the factory wheels on for the winter, gave the bbs's a good clean ready for a polish up and wax/sealer ready for spring. But before that tried them on on the ute for something to do. Also making progress on the risers for the ltw wing.

yeah but the non-GTI golf uses a different, 7 speed, prone to failure DSG box to the GTI. I have a MK5 GTI with DSG. 161,000KM jap import. has service history, including DSG and runs like clockwork. There are some things to keep an eye on, like the HPFP cam follower and turbo diverter valve as they like to fail, but other than that if its fully serviced youre good to go. Keep in mind with imports though that dealers are shifty c**ts and often wont do the cambelt and waterpump on the low KM ones. This is mine. Highly specced, heated leather, auto everything, HID, Shadow Blue. Has some mods from japan. I love it.

I reckon the standard split 5 spokes on later E38s would suit it best
