Another 100km on track at Hampton downs today, best was a 1.24.5 lap Need to change fluid, pads, rotors and lines as brakes feel f**ked. Will get rid of aircon/looms/sunroof and tidy up driving and hoping for a 1.21 at least

Hey guys, I've recently purchased a 2001 530i M Sport and I'm excited to experience BMW ownership for the first time. I'm only 18 but I have an absolute passion for cars and the e39 has always appealed to me! The car is black with 17" M rims, M body kit, M steering wheel, dual tip muffler, black kidney grilles and tints on the front & rear lights (the photo was taken with the sun shining on the car so the rear lights are darker in real life). I plan on eventually plasti dipping the rims as they're slightly damaged in places and was wondering if anyone has experience with plasti dipping? Is it as easy and effective as advertised? I'll either go with silver to retain the stock look, or grey/black. Cheers! (I'm in East Auckland btw)

Brought a trolley jack (finally) for the E36... just a 2.5t SCA jobbie but it's low and strong (and f'ing heavy). Will do the trick and save some winding. Also disassembled one of my Recaro SR3's in prep for getting them cleaned up and reupholstered, not too difficult after all.

Another project lol. Started wet sanding after painting the bonnet a couple weeks back. Next up, manual conversion!

Gave one of the project cars a good clean, polish and wax so it doesn't look so abused. Still a couple things to fix and a 2nd set of wheels will go on once I get time to fit the tyres, pretty happy with how it's tidied up

Nice round trip to New Plymouth and down to Hawera then back home. 700ks and a tank of gas, can't complain at all. Naki must breed E38s, spotted about 5 on the way round. The more and more I drive this car, the more I love it's open road style, pretty much 12 hours with stops and crap, but body still felt great getting out and drives so damn well, even through all the twisties of SH3. Left plenty behind and just does it effortlessly Transmission fluid and filter sitting waiting doing next weekend then we are all ready for a nice SI trip over Easter :)

We are debating how long it will last. But..It is spring loaded and will retract to flush with the bumper if pushed hard. They are USD$240 for a genuine splitter base (excluding brackets fittings etc), plus freight / gst. There is an AU targa rally car that also runs one, so there is a 'hope' it will last, but time will tell. The car is also set up quite high and i tend to not cut corners, so finger crossed. Remember this is tarmac not gravel or cross. We also have a solid sump guard right behind it which should take some of the cars weight should we botton it somewhere. Ask me next month after Bambina.

Replaced outer ball joint on my E46. All DIYs recommend replacing g the whole arm which was going to cost $200 . Instead I pressed out the old one (broke through the swaged portion), and pressed in one from an E36. No more slop. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Made some more progress on the e21, got the bonnet fitted properly, got the heater fan sorted, changed out the coil so there are sparks, and powdercoated the rocker cover, also fitted the alternator, and discovered an oil leak in the sump gasket! Gotta love old cars.
