3 pointsBeen a while since I've posted to this thread ... thought it was about time to do an update on what I've been doing. Have had the first most complete CSL conversion in the country I believe for an E46 M3. I won't reveal who the owner is, but here's a short video of the Karbonius carbon airbox in action. The car has a full CSL converted MSS54HP DME together with H Bridge driver for the snorkel flap. I have personally driven this car briefly and I can confirm it drives and feels 99.5% like a real CSL. Given how expensive CSLs have become to acquire, personally I think building a replica is now both cheaper and easier to do!!! Video I've also been a little bit obsessed with the BMW touch screen GT1 machines of late. More so because I've always liked these Dinosaurs and have always thought these were quite cool for its time. But mostly because these have now become so rare but are still quite a powerful and useful system and it seems no one in the world has actually documented these very well or tried to repair them. Came an opportunity one day to pick up 5 of these for pocket change and a bunch of diagnostic heads (7 to be precise) ... I knew the touch screens were all broken on all but one machine (turns out this touch screen was faulty also) and none were functioning as far as the seller was aware. Decided why not give it a go at repairing them. Today I have 4 functioning machines with brand new touch screens and 7 working diagnostic heads. What these look like taken apart Touch Screen replacement I have also gotten to know the Yellow diagnostic heads quite well now and can now repair these to an extent ... have successfully repaired no less than 4 of these (2 genuine units) and one for Ray@Hellbm. I will document repair procedures for these Diagnostic heads when I get sometime as these things are no longer produced or cloned by Chinese vendors, it seems a crying shame to see these systems disappear.

2 pointsits like the special "Schnizter" registered cars running around with nothing but a badge on the back. I think we need more training or testing for whoever is responsible for entering these details, so they actually know what the car is, not just what the badge on the back says.

1 pointHey guys up for sale is my E36 msport manual coupe. Reason for sale is I have too many cars and the wifey isn't happy. Details: 270,000kms Leather interior with the sought after leather doorcards (in fantastic condition, no peeling) Has near new M3 bilstein's (done less than 5,000kms) Can come with the Rieger GT front lip, but needs repairs as it's been cracked in two (debris on motorway took it off) Drives beautifully, no mechanical issues, gearbox is smooth with no crunches. Cons: Headliner is sagging as is usual with most E36's Drivers side window not working, needs new reg/motor Steering wheel leather is starting to crack, could do with a replacement. $6,500 ono, reasonable offers considered, may be interested in swaps + cash my way (just don't tell the wife ). Will come with Wof and Rego for new owner. Note: comes with ACS wheels, not the Style 42's as seen in photo 3. Cheers.

1 pointIs it not an M3 then..? LOL at all the keyboard warriors quoting laws and stuff. All goes back to the ridiculous amount of freedom people have when registering used imports. Write what you want on the bit of paper and the lady will type it into the computer.

1 pointNo such things ... rear rotors are identical to stock M3. The so called CSL pads also just stock M3 pads. It's a confusion developed over different pad supplier between Euro M3 and USA spec M3s. The true CSL pad (you won't find the part numbers on the ETK system as it's not on there - was provided to owners on a sheet of A4 copy paper on a print out) are a rebranded Pagid Yellow pad. I would do the rear calipers. It is noticeable under hard braking ... very noticeable. Also the CSL swaybar sizing is a little misleading as the diametre isn't consistent through the whole bar. For the money I'd go aftermarket adjustables or the motorsport variant.

1 pointPicked up the donor vehicle today. An SA spec'd 318is with a Getrag 250 in it. Was a bit of a mission but worth it in the end!

1 pointThey are getting blasted in the question section, took a screenshot to preserve this.,.. I'm tempted to post those screenshots to their Facebook page but don't want the attention, if anyone else would like to, feel free to use my screenshots. Edit: Done. Their page only lets you post 1 photo at a time and they review it before it shows up, so it'll probably never be seen...

1 pointMatt Le Blanc wil be the front man for the next season of Top Gear, and will be accompanied by Chris Harris and Rory Reid. Eddie Jordan and Sabine Schmitz will make regular appearances as will (of course) The Stig.

1 pointGot the booster setup all bolted in over the weekend, just two small hard lines left to bend in the brake system. Also dipped my kit (skirts are off being repaired) considering going for a two tone look (bottom half black) until i can actually get vehicle painted in my prefered colour.

1 pointConor (batmanswilly) and I spent less than $200 between us at zebra today and walked away with; # full e46 black leather interior including door cards and electric seats - mint condition. # e46 electric fan # e46 'purple tag' steering rack. # e36 aftermarket front gas struts (ultimo brand) in brand new condition. We got totally smashed by the weather but it was well worth it for the awesome deal we got.
