Hey Guys, I had been eyeing these magnificent machines up for some time and I finally pulled the trigger and bought this beauty a couple of weeks ago. Prior to this, I've owned 4 180sx's and most recently a mazdaspeed 6. This is definitely on another planet in terms of handling, build quality and performance. Absolutely rapt with it. She's an auto, with only 80k on the clock. And of course I purchased a 3 year warranty with it. Have attached some images, please excuse the terrible cropping of the number plate ;P

Hi Guys, Thought I would introduce myself - My name is Sam, i have a long history of Japanese cars but always wanted an E34, so when I spied a 1993 525 manual touring on Trademe I had to snap it up. A test drive and some haggling and it was mine - in all its rough but functional glory! (photos to come) Will be getting it back to an acceptable standard, starting with giving her a service birthday this weekend. Hope to get involved with the community and get to some meets. Cheers

I'm honestly furious. I spend 2 months looking for a 328i manual coupe, offering anywhere from 9-10k for really nice ones. I settle for an nz new auto and manual convert it, total price roughly 7500. 2 weeks later this pops up, along with a couple of other really nice ones, well below what I was originally offering. Murphy's fkin law.

Low 15's if you improve the RT and tbh ~88 km/h isn't bad... I'd be pretty happy with that as a start actually.

Rear spoiler is stored away for now. Looking for some risers 1st run 16.387 at 88.16 rt .655 2nd 15.719 at 88.31 rt .621 3rd 17.851 at 87.99 ran the light spun tyres missed gear. Turns out it's hard to drive in a straight line Can definitely do with a bit of practice but was happy to get a baseline

Will you elaborate or do you enjoy being evasive? Are your insights somehow top secret?

E46's are good cars but avoid the N42 and N46 engines at all costs. The earlier E46 318i had the M43 engine which is fine. The six cylinders are by far and away the better engine though.

Close, but not quite. And you missed quite a bit of the damage from your list. Wholesale on parts alone is $35k and I doub't you'd find any second hand as they are mostly M2 specific. You would have to keep it for a while for people to forget about it being damaged and re-reged, although that shouldn't really matter if the repair is done properly.

A little update a year later, Welcome to the family the 100% rust free geneuine 325i coupe. That in the past year every nut & bolt has been gone over. Running brand new bilstiens all around, all new engine mounts, belts, water pump, air intake all new genuine radiator piping and all new bushings in the gear box. Its a dream come true. All I need to do now is fix and install the rest of the body kit with all the new clips that I ordered from bmw.. enjoy once this car is done you can expect a lot more photos haha

I think it has 'Airmatic Adaptive Suspension' so cutting anything may prove a bit disastrous.

you cant blame the dealer tbh. it was a bargain at 10-11k and easily worth more.. either way its a shame it didnt go to a nice new owner.. lets all secretly pray that it doesnt sell and the dealer holds onto it for 6 months or more

Dealer has agreed to do all the repairs and also have Glenn give it another once over.

Sounds like a typical low grade import from these so called "professional" import dealerships. I would definitely rather buy a NZ New example from a private owner than go thru the hassle of getting a grade 2.5 or 3 import that needs to get repairs done (probably at the cheapest possible workshop with the cheapest possible parts). Good thing you got the PPI done, otherwise it sound have cost you heaps to repair all the things in that list.

Yeah, it was from a dealer. 27k including the warranty. Just go for a drive in one, you will instantly find a reason to justify it afterward I did!

Done the deal on the BMW 330i pending a satisfactory mechanical check by Botany Motor Worx - NZ iDrive upgrade and 4 year warranty and trade of my old VR4. Should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.
