Hi I'm after some advice. I'm loozing to do a manual conversion on my e28 m535i but trying to find a gearbox has been a real struggle. I'm after a getrag-260 or a 265 I hear the getrag 240 from a m10 would do the job but they seem to be just as rare. I would rather not buy one from overseas if I can avoid it. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I could find one or some other options I could look at? Any info i can get is good info! Cheers guys. Jess

Any of you race guys after a sump baffle plate for m20 motors? I have 2 left. Laser cut 2mm alloy can be welded or bolted in. $40

The previous owner of my M5 traded it on a landcruiser, not a mistake I can see myself making!!

Don't ever trust what some random dude tells you on the interwebs... but fear not, looks like a simple rocker cover gasket failure, which has thrown oil everywhere. It would be nice (even if only to save you the oil smoke embarrassment) if you could avoid driving it until you get it sorted

Heck, makes me feel better about my V8 Landcruiser which sits around 18-20L/100k and doesn't seem to give two shits if I'm on the open road or driving around town.

a Modern hatch has the active safety electronics, but the older euro possibly has the passive crumple zone engineering. one would think a design to surpass a standard would be better than one which was designed to merely achieve a minimum standard. Really though, accidents are unpredictable and can go seriously fatal in millimeters. I have seen a e34 5er flip in crosswinds (at possible extralegal speeds) and the chap who walked away was very lucky to have lived, as the initial impact hit soft earth, missing the hard concrete highway surface by a mere 500mm.

The project E30s lurking out back. Time to push the car back into the shop and drop an engine into it. We did have some issue getting the engine mounts to sit correctly, but got there in the end. Checking for clearance. It looks like the E36 power steering lines will work with some slight tweaks and a custom bracket to support the high pressure line. Installed the shifter support bracket while I had the car up on the lift. Popped the M52 intake manifold on to check for clearance.
