I got to 2:59 and couldn't listen to any more of this guy. I'm sure he has an opinion and a conclusion; if you can endure 15 mins of that presentation you're probably on some kind of medication, or quite possibly should check and confirm you still have a pulse.

A rare classic parked in Wellingtons CBD. Had a quick chat to the owner and this is one pristine example. Owner didn't say out right but hinted that it has had a full no expense resto. And man did it sound sweeeeet! 1971 Holden Monaro GTS (genuine too!):

Got my V2 Monaro back today after having some of the interior redone. It took a while but I am stoked! For example the drivers seat has gone from this: To this: Also reinstalled the rear seats today and I do have to say I'm impressed on just how good it looks!

When your horn goes off randomly whilst driving. But as I live in the US people just think it is normal.

I recently purchased @Aphexic's E39 540i. Overall it's in pretty good condition, with a tonne of service history dating back to 2009. This thing has had some money spent on it over the years. The car has just ticked over 200,000 km's. Here's some photos of it in it's new home. Things I'm intending to do as time and money allows: OEM Msport style 66 wheels (hurry up and post them @oldskool ? ) New tires: Potenza RE003 235/45/R17 Front and RE050A 255/40/R17 on the rear. Bulbs: Angel eye bulbs and H7 low beam bulbs Thermostat and coolant. Has had cooling system overhaul at 180,000 but thermostat seems to be all over the shop. Chain guides and timing chain + waterpump. Thrust arm bushings - has a strong vibration around 90+ km/h MAF - randomly when stopping at an intersection or lights it stalls and today it was hunting like it had a vacuume leak but then later on it idles perfectly. I recall having some difficulty with the hard fuel lines and loom thats clipped or zip-tied further back towards the firewall? Once the manifold is off the rest was pretty straight forward. My old 530i plastic hose had cracked at the bend into the block and when the engine was hot you could hear a hissing noise if you got close enough which prompted me to replace it lol. Sounds like you're all done now anyway Gabe

Fcpeuro is the only place. Lifetime warranty on wear items... last pads and rotors you'll ever buy. Lots of good options there.

It has got facelift lights, just that the indicators aren't clear like on msport versions.

No way I'm removing that manifold today! Plus, I'd have to wait for the gasket and hoses to arrive... Getting to where I am now was only possible in an efficient way because I'd done the oil filter housing gasket before. It's like I'm building up to larger jobs. I've watched a few videos and those hoses are also zip tied to the manifold, or the block eh, that looks like a right pain to remove.

Thanks SJ. I've updated the rego details (renewed through Jan 2018) in the first post. As the listing says... Make me an offer!

They will be clogged nearly solid and brittle enough that you could break in half just by crushing with your hand... the ends will snap off leaving their neck stuck in the block. They are BMW's usual rubbish plastic so age is not kind to them. 11531705210 and 11537502525, part #6 and #8 in your realoem link. To do the job involves removing the intake manifold, so replacement intake mani gaskets are needed too. For the love of God be careful when undoing your remote positive battery terminal off of the intake... the bolt is very thin and prone to snapping, and BMW does not sell replacements.

one of those bidders missed out on his dream car. A smart seller would contact him and make quick sale.

Yep that's why carbs are still around, personally i generally view the 80-90's as providing the best balance of things. No question newer models are better built due to technology but build quality\built to last\longevity aren't usually priorities these days- environmental laws, emissions, safety standards, rising costs, more profits etc etc have seen to that. Poverty spec or otherwise a brand new E30 vs E90, im sure the E30 would trump it in fit\finish dept. Besides the dash they generally have held up very well given their age. E90's are and will suffer everywhere from the typically BMW plastic failures and they still got 10+ years to catch the E30.

Hey Guys, Finally the old girl got out of the shed and had a fresh walk round the driveway and house. Got a few problems with the accelerator cable and in search of a new air filter for the Holley carburetor apart from that she is running well and got the finishing touches before she is off for a WoF and Rego Pretty close to the end of this build and looking forward to driving the BM around once the accelerator cable is fixed. Need some rear lowering springs too. Doesn't look quite right with the massive rake. A few photos below that turned out nicely.

So I guess this is where I should do a little write up and add all the stuff my dad has done on his 74 2002. It all began about 5 years ago when dad got the car in a dereg state that needed a full restore. Rusty sills were replaced and the full car was stripped down to bare metal, razor blades were used to scrape the layers of paint back, the car was originally green, but once we scraped off the red paint it was finally back to the bare metal. The drivers side floor was repaired too due to rust, finally making the car rust free! Unfortunitly dad didnt really get any pictures during the build of the car or of it in its stripped state. The guards were then cut and then welded to allow for the flares to be bolted on along with the BBS RS 15x8 et13 offset reps to be installed. This proved to be a bit of an issue come recompliance where an LVV Cert was also needed, this passed easily but added to the cost of the build. We managed to pick up a mint Tan leather interior out of a 635csi. This fitted in perfectly and the rear bucket seats look amazing and are amazingly comfy! The original 2L m10 single carby engine still powers it all but maybe one day in the future a twin carb setup or injected setup might be added to make the car a little easier to use as a bit more of a daily driver. The paint was chosen to be Polaris Silver, as the original 2002 turbos only came in the white or silver and my grandfather at the time owning a 1974 E9 3.0CS in polaris silver. So I guess here is the place where I will post some glamour shots of her! I have only shot the outside of the car but Im sure over time I will continue to utilize the little car as a stand in model whenever I want something pretty to take photos of! If you want to know more about this car feel free to ask, dad has a whole lot more on it and Im sure we will add more to the story of this car!
