It's a sad, but eminently practical decision.

Thanks, you can never have too many cars..... Selling as now living on a boat and more cars than parks and not ready to get rid of the E34.

I assume he filled the lpg tank with a mixture of oxy / acetylene from a gas welding / cutting torch, not sure how but he seems to have been that perfect blend of inventive and ignorant.

It's my old car. Sold it a few years back. Owned it for 6 years and Shelly owned it before me for about 7 years. Those are miles. And yup it has done more than that. Clusters fail on these all the time. Wheels are BBS. Motor is original but wasn't the best. It did have some rust that was taken out over the years. But an area of concern was the right hand drive sill at the rear. Diff was rebuilt about a year before I sold it too. It would need some love before I paid $15K. But I have already owned it. I would say with some love it would be a great example.

You missed Stanley Unwin from that list, made a whole career out of talking gibberish!!

Oh man a white M535i with M stripes and gold BBS mesh wheels.

@Contrails maybe, I do need quite a few of the bits.

Man two E30 mtech 1s for sale within one month and that too both in Diamond schawrz colour. Damn! 15k if all the rust is taken care of and comes with all the original bits. I paid 16k for mine last week. NZ new, full documentation from new, has all the original bits minus a couple of small things here and there. The previous owner had it for 15 years!

They are just push pins, no? Try slide a thin flat screwdriver under neath and wiggle them loose a bit. Alternatively push the pin in and recover it one you have taken the plug out.

Quote: "Miller then tried unbolting the regulator on the tank and tried to attach the gas torch head straight onto the bottle." It is just incredibly lucky that this guy didn't take anybody else out with him when he went bang, in a residential area, during the day. The age old problem of how do you stop dumb people doing dumb things, without making it more difficult for all the other people to do it properly.

Woh I just saw this. That part is only around $5-$20 from most NZ wreckers. 50GBP is laughable.

Absolutely mate - it's a very different proposition. This has collector status due to it's rarity whereas the F10 is an ultimate daily. You only need to look at the E34 touring vs. sedan prices today to see where these will likely head. Thanks mate! Bang on. The black one was also a UK import - nothing wrong with that however this does half the mileage, comes with full NZ history (plus hard wired radar and CIC system for the geeks!).

A few day time pics yes, that is the baby in the baby capsule in the back seat .. @Olaf super keen to shoot photos in the future. At the moment it's pretty hard for me to lock in a time but that will change...eventually.....i hope! Thanks @qube!

212,756 km A while back I picked up @qube's Mpars. Today I finally got around to getting them fitted and balanced.

I snapped up @Lucan's Xenons on trademe a while back. After abit of wet sanding and buffing they are in pretty good shape. Installed without having to be coded in too which was cool. Looking forward to going for a drive in the dark now. I also finally put the last two heat shields back on and after checking for oil leaks since the major overhaul (bone dry) put the splash guard back on.

I’ve made the decision that since there’s more rust than structurally sound metal and the fact it’s not straight it’s time for it to go. Unless anyone wants some rust with a free shell?
