Hi fellas and ladies. I have decided to sell my spare car that I hardly ever use. Its been sitting at my house since October last year not getting much use at all. Maintenance on this particular beauty has been impeccable. In the last year or so it's had the cooling system done, front control arm bushings, rotors and pads, front and rear wheel bearings, charge pipe, intake manifold carbon cleaned and I just serviced it today. Have changed the diesel fuel filter as well. Tyres are all 5mm plus. She's been freshly groomed and is ready to go to a new owner. I have listed her on trademe and you can see the link below. A very factory car. Everything works from the AC to the steering wheel controls. I haven't done any modifications during my ownership at all and she was owned by a lady before me that used to commute from mahurangi to Auckland cbd every day. Also has a factory purple tag rack. Handles beautifully.. Twas a beautiful day to be barrelling up the Desert Road, with Mt Ruapehu in sight. clear as. back in AKL by dinner after lunch with rellys in the Tron. total consumption of 98= 48 litres. and 560kms... not too bad for what it is, I guess. probably got pinged by a MCR van somewhere in Taupo. a very dangerous weapon

Collected this today.. was advertised on here with a failing transmission. 2000 540i pre facelift motorsport, ex Japan. Drove it 25km home from Cambridge. Transmission gave me no trouble at all, although I was gently cruising... Generally a well looked after car with plenty of maintenance including chain guides and all the usual suspects. There are a few things going on with it however, and I'll document its progress here as we go...

I went and looked up how much a GTiR, (probably the most comparable car of the 90s?) was new NZ in 1993 - $45,000 or nearly $77,000 in today money.

If I had kept mine longer this was the next thing I would've invested in. Did a bit of research on it over the years and I came to the conclusion that the Bilstein B8/eibach springs combo was the most ideal. I don't believe the drop is too significant and the Eibachs seemed to have a smaller drop than the H&R's from memory. The factory E82 M-sport suspension just doesn't suit our roads at all.

Hi there, Picked up an E46 330i Touring a few months ago and have been fixing it up to be a reliable daily. So far I have done the following: - Full cooling system refresh (Including hard lines under the intake manifold) - Front pulleys and drive belts - Power steering reservoir and hoses - CCV Replaced - Intake boots - Oil level sensor - Oil filter housing gasket - Valve cover gasket - Vanos rebuild - New DISA valve - Engine & transmission mounts - Windshield cowl - Transmission filter & fluid - FCAB's - Front control arms - Tie rods - Wheel bearings - Stock sport springs from HellBM - Sport Sway bars from BM World - Koni Special Active shocks on all four corners - Set of Style 72 rims to replace the Style 79 rims that came with the car - Changed differential fluid - Other little minor things around the car What I have got left to do is to replace all the bushings in the rear (If anyone has an RTAB tool I could borrow...) and I am looking at getting some new tyres soon since the ones that came with the new rims are pretty average. Best money spent so far was on the shocks as the originals were completely shot. And having everything in the cooling system replaced is great for peace of mind. For the future it would be nice to swap in a manual, but for now the auto is pretty good for what it is. Only major issues I have had is a tire blowout in Wellington on state highway 1 near the terrace (I think I must of run over something on the motorway), and a fuel line disconnecting itself which left me stranded outside Kumeu (Car didn't catch fire which was good). Overall the experience has been pretty good though, the car's fun to drive and I have learnt a lot during the process.

Welcome. Making me miss my 330i I had for many years back in the UK. The front and rear bushes and the VANOS rebuild rank as most memorable changes I did. Please please please baby the gearbox in reverse. I had to rebuild my box as a tyre place broke the reverse drum (not totally their fault as they are week) by dropping it into gear with some revs on...

The boost shouldn't make the plugs fail...it's more about reducing temperatures to fight knock. If you go further and increase the boost more with additional maps then 1 or 2 step colder plugs will become necessary. The upgrades to go for (IMHO) initially (after the charge pipe) are replace the stock air filter system, catless downpipes, inlets and probably an upgraded intercooler. You can use your logs to determine when the right time to go to cooler plugs is.
