Hi guys, My name is Kees and I have a 1994 BMW 540i. Her name is Floyd (as decided by the previous owner). Apparently she's played more pink Floyd than she has done kilometers. Now that must be a lot of Pink Floyd as she has done a casual 367,000km. She is NZ New and was not in the best cosmetic state when I got her. Photo with the roof racks is what she looked like the day I got her. Most pleased about the restoration of the heavily oxidised paint on the boot lid. New sunroof will hopefully be getting changed to the correct colour in the next few weeks. Has been a bit of a summer project that became a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. Other than that it drinks petrol like there's no tomorrow and blows hot air at my feet when the AC is on cold. IMG_2245.HEIC IMG_2404.HEIC

In other news. I had the dealership to replace the O2 sensor, no more error code for that one. I fiddled with ISTA+ last night and resetted a few adaptations which transformed the car drastically. It certainly pulls alright now, not that the wife will be much concerned about that or will even notice but I certainly am. Also flashed the nbt-hu with the latest ECE spec firmware, she's fully converted to ECE now.

As some of you may recall, I spent a good amount of time deciding on my ideal car back in 2017. After advice from some members here, and a lot of test drives of different makes and models, I decided on an NZ new 2003 330i M Sport sedan. What a car. It was my first BMW, and it was a lot of car for a little money. Quite different from the Starion, Galant, and Diamante I had owned before. Fast forward about 8 months, and she's sitting outside parked on the street, nothing doing. The punishment? Getting totaled by some genius speeding through a tight windy road at midnight, while drunk: 😭 That's a two car park, and it was in the back space with the handbrake fully engaged... look how far it ended up from position one. Weitz Industries ended up parting it out. After that I wasn't active on the forums for a while, starting different jobs, doing some travelling, family stuff, etc... A few years on and I'm in need of a car again. After a lot of time-wasters, morons, and liars tried to sell me their vehicles, I was getting royally pissed off! 🤬 Anyway, long story short, I found my second BMW. The handsome twin of my earlier chariot; another NZ new, 330i M Sport sedan. The first two hours of my trip home, I put it to the test on those long winding roads between Hamilton and Turangi. She didn't disappoint. The silky smooth inline six delivered when asked, and took to the corners beautifully. After that it was starting to get late and tiredness was starting to settle in, so I took it relatively easy for the remaining four hour drive. Overtaking was never a problem, and cruising at 100kph is incredibly comfortable for a sports sedan. I could ramble on, but I think most of you are familiar with what great cars they are. It does need a few things, but that's part of the fun right? Yeeaaah... it was a good day.

It was up on tm when I bought my 540i 13 years ago. 🤣

Hi @PartsFriend Thanks for the decent reply. None of us meant any offence I'm sure, like @Driftit said, just very cautious when sending $100s of dollars overseas to a new company. Your spelling is excellent and your English is understandable, just more the phrasing I guess? I'll take you up on your offer and send through the parts I need and wait for your reply.

Well I would like to apologize to you. Sorry for mistaking you as a scammer. And thank you for the effort in regards to introducing yourself. Your English is on par with most on this forum We are overly cautious and suspicious when it comes to parts. Forums are still often targeted by spam and scams as they are easily breached by bots.

Yes you are right, I guess when it comes to time- pressure I slide into German / English mix, using German phrases filling up with words in English. I will visit a business- english group by March (so far it is allowed to join due to covid) to work on it. Hey everyone, I was just out for a short drive, car nearly up to operating temp and I put my foot down a bit up to 80kph and engine light came on. I have checked using MHD and I’ve a misfire in cylinder 6. What is my best option from here? plugs and coils? injectors? (Please noooooo!) any advise would be great.

Visually not too different to the previous but got the shocks in, guard liners painted and installed, calipers on and sensors in place. Currently working on the fuel pump and waiting on a cable gland before I can finish that.

From the quick investigation I have had it looks to be a temperamental eccentric shaft sensor. Good afternoon all, I just have to tell someone. My new baby has left her home of the last 9+ years and started her journey down to me. I just can't wait. I used to have a 99 728i and I sold her for a 2003 730i E65. Wish I never had. So after 4 1/2 years of the E65, I am going back to the one car I have loved being in and driving. This time a 2001 728i in a lovely Steel Blue. Oh the fun I am going to have. I have already got plans to make her even more beautiful. E38 Beige wood grab handles - ready and waiting C pillar wood 'Porn Lights' - on their way Working on replacing the original 16:9 HU with the Avant4 headunit which will work with the DSP, and yet give me all the modern features, but look like the original. Celebrated the summer weather and Auckland water restrictions being relaxed and gave the gar its first two bucket wash in 6 months. Was so nice outside, decided to slap on a coat of CarPro Elixer while I was at it - so nice holding a hose again haha
