Quite a few haha, I have a showroom thread with all the detail here: But in a nutshell, Full Birds B1 suspension kit with Quaife LSD, M3 front control arms, camber pin mod, bmw performance short shifter, Simota carbon intake, MILVs and tune, supersprint backbox, 135i brakes, BBS wheels, and a bunch of 1M style interior bits. Spent WAY too much money on it all haha but oh well, I always enjoy driving it!

As a previous BMW owner I am all too aware of how hard they are move around when they are not running so you have to appreciate that he picked it up and moved it. I have also pushed a car in jandals before and it can be a high risk game, especially if you catch a foot on the open door when trying to steer it. The guy who dumped them has some space back and this car is now someone elses problem / liability, he is now likley having to deal with tyre kickers. Can we give him a 3/10 for effort? He's doing more than sitting on a forum complaining. Cant say I could be bothered doing something like that, I'm all for a flip if it means taking something and improving it, better still if you can enjoy it for a bit before on selling. Most of the time I feel I have saved a car from a wrecker.

That's me! 🙋‍♂️ Sadly the car is deteriorating cosmetically, will probably need a respray sooner rather than later, but still such a fun car to drive every day

Hi Qube Thanks for the suggestion. Before I bought the Touring I looked into the X5. I drove a few and enjoyed them nevertheless decided against an SUV because: (totally subjective and disputable: ) 1 They do have a smaller luggage space. 2 They do not drive as well fast through curves due to their higher center of gravity (especially important to former motorcyclists who think that is really cool) 3 They use more petrol to move the same amount of people. (10-15 % more) An clear advantage is that they offer more passive safety because they are as high as lots of the popular trucks (Highluxes , Rangers etc) on NZ roads, who are a safety hazard to other road users because of their height. And if you need to change the baby, their floors are a much better working height than from a station wagon, easy on your back)

That was the impression I got, too. I doubt stripping some parts from it and then chucking it on TradeMe was the anticipation (although it was obviously always a possibility). And the description - "Was planning on turning it into a crazy track car but with too many projects on the go it's best to see if anyone wants to score a bargain..." Pure fabrication. Picked it up on Saturday, had it on TM a day later. As for effort - I tried, but by the time I had arranged a car trailer, they had gone. Not saying the seller is a bad guy, but a little more honesty about the acquisition and sale wouldn't go amiss. From the questions it seems others have already rumbled his game.

My impression was that the person giving them away was hoping they went to someone that wanted parts for their car, not for some wanker to try and make a buck. Chucking it on trademe isnt "putting in the effort".

Does anyone here own HBD24? Saw it in East Auckland today. It looked great with blackline rear lights and lowered suspension

I don't see any issue with this. He's putting in the effort so he can profit from it. I do have an issue with who cut a hole in the hood of a 3.0? Just needs a piece of steel and it was handy?

Also swapped over the rear hatch. Absolutely miserable job. The wiring harness and rear wiper fluid feed tube is probably routed through the hatch before the rear glass is bonded on from factory. Feeding all that through the tiny passage took an entire weekend. I wish I was joking. But I did eventually get everything through. I wired in a new loom at the same time for the FZV module that runs to the GM5 so I can convert it to use a radio frequency key. Some cleaning: And all back together. Old one for comparison, very subtle difference but I prefer it: Wiper deleted at the same time. But went through the trouble of routing the wiring and feed tube through just incase I ever change my mind, its a simple bolt it back on exercise. The hole is temporarily plugged with a hideous black generic one while I wait for the factory delete plug which will be colour matched. A lot of work for something only I would ever notice, but now that it's done I'm glad I did it.

Ive got a cloth sport ones in my E36 that isnt as bad as my leather ones but its still not that great. New bolsters may help, most seats have been quashed\foam has failed to some extend. Ive never had an issue with E39 ones, but @hunter redid his alcantara ones and they are noticeably more comfortable and support much better than worn stuff thats around. Yeah need a cert for seats (seat belt anchor point changed iirc). There are bases that use a modified stock\base rail (Brey-Krause) but they are cheap and not sure if they would need to be certed or not. I just take my out for the WOF since its easy in a coupe. Current one me close to 1k seat+base which is fairly cheap considering what @Harper and others have spent. I dont care about passenger one so it made it much cheaper I think the genuine E46 base\rails for Recaro seats are hard to find now, the place in Japan i got them from delisted the drivers ones ordered it. NZKW do their generic E36\E46 one and im sure there are other around. Its a bit of mission finding and figuring out what you want and not usually cheap, but once you find the right seat its like your favourite pair of pants etc.

Forgot to post the final outcome. While I was up getting some work done at HellBM I snapped these off.
