    While the X5 is laid up, I have acquired a new beasty that will replace both my F30 335i and the E53 X5... 2017 G01 X3 M40i!

229,xxx km Picked up the car from storage this week (12 months). WOF & Rego and then things went a bit pear shaped. Started with central locking issues, moved into abs, handbrake, battery light trifecta and ended with a dead flat battery in the middle of CBD. New battery, new alternator and I think everything is ok. 2 hours waiting for AA. Old one New one overnight via A1 auto electrical. Looking very clean in a not so clean engine bay. Real sweet DIY replacing one of these...it's been a while since i have done any wrenching but i was quickly reminded how DIY friendly the E46 is. I did locate some GM5 relays from chch via get connected however I think* the battery and alternator have cured the locking issue so have ordered relays from overseas at a lot lower cost and plan to replace those in the future, cause man it's a real pain in the ass when only the drivers door unlocks.

As some of you know I have purchased @Andrewold cabby. I am completely inlove with it. I have the vert tech 1 skirts and rear boot spoiler to complete it but I have spent the last couple of days doing some maintenance as it has been in storage. Changed the timing belt, waterpump, thermostat, engine oil,oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, set the valve clearances and gave it a much needed tune up. Putting in a 3.73 lsd diff and new control arms, inner rack ends, tie rod ends and rear control arm bushings in tomorrow. I plan to paint it very soon and put my 3 piece 16 inch wheels on it. Here are some pics, absolutely in love. Will also be putting the factory tech 1 wheel in it and selling the immaculate tech 2 steering wheel.

After getting a new wheel bearing and sorting the outstanding thermostat bits, have just been enjoying driving the car lately in the great weather and a fantastic run of big Auckland meets. Still saving my pennies for rust and respray over winter but still looking good and singing sweetly in the meantime.

Well I am yet to sort out my gauge bezel rings BUT I have gone and splurged on some MCA Pro Sport coilovers 😍 !! I've never had some really nice suspension so this will be firmly in the luxury camp for me and can't wait. Also have a M3 style front bumper to pickup to replace the rather used M-Tech 2 which is on there. Might be a good excuse to paint the stone chipped bonnet and guards etc also 🤔

Hello everyone, I’m Thomas and I live in Paris. Ooooh outrage.. Yeah sorry, I wish I lived in NZ but that’s what it is. I actually live on the west side of Paris in Boulogne-Billancourt, just next to the seine river and the Forest of St-Cloud. (You really can’t make that sh*t up) Long story short, my grand father was big on cars (used to work in those Peugeot and Renault car manufacturing plants) and his last two cars were Bmw’s. He was very proud of owning a BMW in the late 90’s and early 2000´s. Fast forward 20 years, when I came back from New York and settled back in Paris in 2021, I inherited the E46 316ti Compact which had at this time something like a 280k mileage. Today It just passed 300k and I would like to maintain it so it goes another 100k, 200k, maybe another 300k on the same N42 engine. I’ll share a few pictures of my loyal bimmer with you guys. I recently read a post by another user named Alan who had issues with his E46 N42B20 and I saved a full post response going through the details of the issues I had on my E46 N42B18. I’ll look on the forum and see if I can find it again. Cheers to all and good shifting Tom

Well... A deal has been struck and I have been driving a bright(ish) blue 2004 CLK320 to work and back for a few days. It's much brighter than the pic suggests. It'd been for sale for a few months, mainly because the rear bumper had been 'tapped' at some point, and poorly repaired. That can be sorted. It also has a number of small dents and similar around the body. Near new tyres, albeit shockingly poor ones (HiFly and cheap Nankang), rebuilt rear brakes (I'll being doing all the brakes), and a lot of history. Interior is generally tidy although a previous owner has made a mess of the centre arm rest - like many, it opens to a cubby space, but the lid also opens for small storage. Or should. It looks like it is glued shut. Rides well, drives well, comfortable, quick when pressed, has a very good 5m 'look' to it. At about 25% of the price of any even vaguely decent 6-cylinder BMW coupe it was a deal that proved impossible to say no to. Mega service time.

Rohan's and Matt's diamond schwartz beauties in this week. What gorgeous vehicles. I am very tech 1 biased though 🥰

TBH there was nearly a complaint every time he posted something. And he was doing it on purpose much of the time. The founders Ollie and Andrew drop by every now and then. Ollie has just listed his Bimmersport E30 Series car for sale on the forum. Even comes with keys to the forum. There are still many old members lurking around. But Facebook did harm the forum space. Only now are forums starting to make a come back as people are hunting for info on classic cars. Facebook is a black hole for anything older than about 12 hours. Searching is non existent and near on useless. The only thing it is good for is meet ups. Many of the younger kids (18-25) at work don't even have Facebook. As that is for their parents. Many of my friends and family are quitting it as current social media takes it's toll on their lives. There is so much info on this forum and others that are similar. I do still get angry at the great Photobucket purge. So many lost important images.

Ohh mate, if that's your jam... I give you - Chromatic. Dude mostly does bimmers and damn, the production quality of this guy is insane. Have really enjoyed Frank Stephensons stuff out of all the suggestions so far, been binging all morning. Eye-opening to know the rationale behind some of the styling choices. And M539 is of course the absolute favourite.
