233,450 km Checked the oil level this morning after being close enough to 2000km since doing the 02 pilot mod and still had a full sump of oil which is pretty cool. Did a handbrake adjustment, probably could have just tightened the cable but took the wheels off and made sure the shoes were in the right place as it's the first one i've done on this car. Gave the inside of the wheels a clean while they were off but they went from being real dirty to still pretty dirty so didn't take a photo. Gave it a hose down and took a couple shots before kindy pick up.

They usually do in my experience. I havent really had any issues with facebook when dealing with mostly BMW related stuff.

Goddamnit, 2+ weeks to get repairs approved and now a 6 week lead time on parts 😶 Really should have sprung for the rental cover add-on, the E30 is getting all the miles now!

Thanks for the detail Olaf. I've found quite a few decent guides and videos on the process. I think what I might do is do a drain-and-fill myself, then I could consider taking it to a shop to get it properly flushed. I'd really prefer not to buy 20 litres of the stuff, let alone find a place to dispose it. I've seen a few people say that you can bring waste fluid to Repco/SCA to dispose - this is not true. I called 4 total stores and none of them do this anymore. I reckon the car is going to be a lot nicer to drive before I get this done. Really hoping it'll be all sweet without having to buy new solenoids.

There was also a heap of room to mount crossovers if you go passive. This was my e46 coupe door. I just used double sided tap and hot glue. The crossovers I used where massive, largest car audio ones I've seen so heaps of depth in there

Sourcing parts in general to NZ is a lot of effort. I would estimate that when I'm buying parts I spend about 4 times longer working out the cheapest combination of parts + shipping + GST + import duties than I do actually researching what parts I need to buy. It results in some seemingly non-sensical combinations. E.g. when ordering parts for CSL intake recently it was cheaper to order the CSL dipstick tube by itself from Turner, than it was to include in the rest of my package coming from Schmiedmann.

I have a set of style 400m in gunmetal grey if you ever want to flip off those wheels and get factory 18” wheels back on

Super clean look debadged in white - I actually don't mind the rep wheels but inevitably they'll have come with some Linglong Ditchfinders

Unfortunately came off 2nd best with an altercation with an i20 😬 Was 2 minutes after its first wash in 3 months too. Only took me 44 years for my first fender bender. Car actually drove a few km home seemingly OK (just felt like the wheel was knocked out of alignment) until I had to reverse it.
