So after some time to think, I've decided to do a build thread about my new daily projects or how i came about it. So I went on the hunt for a E34 sedan as i love the shape. Managed to score the 540i sedan off joKer here on bimmersport. Wasn't in the prettiest of shape but fixable. So on the hunt for parts to fix up the sedan and I see this comment on a trade me ad. Seller saying wheels were off a e34 540i touring and he was looking at selling that one day. I hit him up and he's keen to sell. Nice I'm thinking to myself i have a complete car to strip parts from! So long story short I pick up the touring and it is is such mint condition apart from sitting for 3 years. it would be an utter shame to wreck this beast. So this is where i am now with a daily E34 540i sedan and rare E34 540i touring that i plan to New Plans #̶1̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶v̶e̶r̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶m̶a̶n̶u̶a̶l̶ #1 Daily E34 sedan - swap to m60b44 and convert to manual #̶2̶ ̶d̶o̶ ̶a̶ ̶m̶6̶0̶b̶4̶4̶ ̶s̶w̶a̶p̶ #2 Sunday driver E34 touring leave auto and m60b40 add supercharger So currently both cars are running. Sedan just a general clean, got bonnet painted and fitted new from bumper. The touring had a bit of work to get it going mainly a new fuel pump, drain old fuel, new oil, dry out the carpet and a good scrub. Here are some picture of before and after of how both vehicles looked. after pictures enjoy team.

I have finally found the last car that I will have for a while. I have been searching all kinds of models to decide what to go for from E92 335i , E82 135i, E46 M3, E92 M3, M235i and also a renault megane RS265 but I have finally settled on what I think is the best car for me at this point which is the F20 M135i with N55 and 8 Speed ZF auto. Coming from a long list of previous BMW's as most of you know, it had to be a substantially newish car for it to be worth while upgrading. When I saw this come up for sale I jumped on it instantly, test drove and paid and collected within an hour of listing. Anyway, it ticks every single box on my requirements list - newness, powerful, practical, mod-able, and of course still BMW. (I still have my E46 which I absolutely love and would love to keep but I just dont see myself driving it as much now I have this thing which works great as a daily and a weekend car) I was lucky to find one with a sunroof which was my biggest requirement and this also came with a M performance exhaust already fitted which makes a great sound. Anyway, if you come long to the coffee meet no doubt you will see it but here are a couple of quick photos!

Adding to - Bars Bugs is known to eat the washer pumps too. Had the E39 one fail @ about 6 yrs. Was told by the parts guy @ CJ that Bars Bugs causes pump failure. Replacement unit been on since & all good - been using BMW fluid

Yep, if you take a moment to consider and interpret the images, that supports the claim of asymetric. If you're ordering from abroad, I think you'll find the prices a little less spendy on FCP Euro compared with Amazon. Just order all three. You're paying the same freight anyway!

Thank you mate that was an interesting read! Not sure about spare bootlid, but as it's such an easy bolt on-off I can change my mind and have it all swapped over in an hour or so.

I bought Bosch Evolution wiper blades for my volvo, they've lasted very well, and cleaned well too. Bought from the USA, no issues with up/down reversals. There's probably a set for your BMW? For my BMWs I just buy the Original BMW ones, they last a good year to 14 months, perform very well. I rain-x the glass, use BMW washer fluid, and never start the wipers without a spray from the washers first. Works for me.

Thanks, Checked them as suggested, only thing found was a lot of slop in the cable at idle. Adjusted it out and the problem seems to be fixed.

There is no effort. Package them how you see fit, as long as it arrives to them. I've sent back a few things and it's simple as anything. I do cheat, in that I both go to the US often-ish, and have people come from there to me (so they can bring, or take back stuff for me) but comparing the price of wipers from the FCP ($30 for my E39) versus here ($100ish) ... I'll pay shipping once a year, sure.

After 3 odd years off the road, it's back! Straight through the WOF, put the coilovers back in on the weekend. Also had a nice surprise when installing the vaders and found out they are heated which come in handy for winter. Although I can't figure out the airbag wiring for the passenger seat. This small connector is on the passenger seat but doesnt match the seat mat sensor. Any idea what it is for?

Buy from FCP Euro. Lifetime replacement on wear items is too good to pass up.

Looks awesome. No more wing or will that return when you get bored? By the way the stock M3 exhaust is actually an impressive efficient system, it often gets a bit of slack for the tinny noise but for the interior it produces a good resonance and allows you to enjoy the glorious intake which is one of the best characteristic of the S54 engine. See extensive PDF from an engineering standpoint of the factory exhaust, one of my favorite M3 reads! BMW_M3_Exhaust_System.pdf

Damage: driving on SH1, impact damage sustained (bullseye and crack 15-20mm) from flying debris. Insurance: Car fully insured including glass cover. Called insurer, lodged claim. Asked who my preferred repairer is, nominated Winger as local BMW dealer. Repairer: Supplied claim number to dealer, who then assessed and quoted. Replacement screen recommended. Quote process and approval managed by dealer, furnishing my claim number. Once quote accepted, dealer updated me on process, then ordered new screen, booked appointment with me *after* they'd taken delivery of screen and confirmed no transit damage. Repair: I elected to leave vehicle overnight to leave additional time for sealant to cure. Genuine BMW screen fitted. Point of difference: new exterior seal/trim installed. Whenever I've had a Smith & Smith replacement, they say "nah we don't do that/can't get that/not part of the job" and burgerise around with old seal/trim. Plus the standard Smith & Smith poor service, glass left in car or tools left in car... Contrast this with BMW dealer finishing touches new replacement WoF sticker fitted, and Rego label holder fitted, both sensibly positioned. Clean car, no broken glass left behind or rattling in vents, no tools left in car. And of course that wander around the showroom (with my kids, on collection), and courtesy ride back in to town on drop-off. If I drank coffee, a complimentary coffee too. A good service experience. Summary: the BMW Dealer experience significantly better than run-of-the-mill "windscreen specialist". Not to mention great service from AA Insurance. I received some great prelim advice from BMW Car Club NZ members. Now I just need to clean & Rain-X the new screen, and fit new set of BMW wiper blades from my parts stash. Hope that helps

I used to get all hung up about putting the best tyres on my M3 and you know what...the Falken 452's I have on now are the best all round tyre I have had. Great price too. One day I just woke up and asked myself what am I trying to prove. My Conti's and Bridgestones lasted about 12k.
