    I'd rather drive a leaf than an e90 320i

Hi I am looking for the E28 M535i or E30 325i MSport. Please come back to me if you have any options or suggestions. Cheers Stephen

Seems everyone wants an M5 these days, and not a crashed re-registered one.

I paid 15k for my 2007 335i over 2 years ago now. Usual issues, charge pipe leaks was the major. I just wouldn't pay over $20 for an 07-09 335i now. The engine itself is pretty good as is the trans. The stuff bolted to the engine is where the issues are.

Cheers guys, been pretty sh*t with the updates and now im getting things back on track, whats happened in the past year since i had the engine dynoed, ive always had an issue with a vibration at 3k that would rattle my teeth, it was pretty bad, i spent countless hours looking over every thing and came to the conclusion it was an imbalance in the engine possibly from incorrect balancing, so i teared down the engine and sent it back to the engine re-conditioners to get checked and they found it was way out, they were real good about it and covered the cost of new bearings rings gaskets etc to rebuild it, i've just finished putting it all back together and is going in to get dyno tuned on Wednesday, the first dyno i had the valves set so there was about .75mm of overlap and the power dropped off at high rpm so ive set them at around 3mm of overlap to see if the power range would move up... Right now the engine has a lumpy idle, im guessing its due to the overlap and a bit of revision but as soon you give it a bit of gas it is super smooth and little to no vibrations at all Other things added is a fast response IAT and auxiliary water pump to the turbo and waste-gate coolant lines to make sure the coolant flows in the right direction

https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1849177923 so the two door M4 sold for $135K? at auction and was listed for 179K now down to 159K. But of you want four doors, here's the M3 for 199K

Tyres done last weekend at Beaurepairs. Buy one get one half price, which was only a tad less than the discounted quote they originally gave me (saved a couple of extra bucks and they discounted the wheel alignment). The PS4's have transformed the car! For some reason Tony's said they wouldn't have PS4 in stock until Feb next year.

Quick update, it was the LPFP. The previous owner fitted an AEM pump to the factory mount, but the pump had slipped in its mount (despite zip ties) so was blocking the inlet of the pump, and the hose connected to the venturi in the bottom of the bucket had come off. Reverted to a bodged together standard pump and everything is back to normal, if not better than before. No codes and pressure is bang on in the logs (about 80-90psi vs 30psi under load). I have a replacement unmodified stock pump to drop in when i get time as i dont like relying on zip ties. I also dropped the trans pan, and valve body and replaced the bridge and tube seals. Not a hard job, just messy and time consuming. Trans seems to shift a lot better now, but should get even better as the reset adaptations learn the new fluid/seals. 7.5l of fluid went in, so should be the majority of the fluid changed (and did the 4l drain and fill 300km ago).

Can't say I disagree about ceramics on a road car but I personally would much prefer a sedan (or even better a touring...hint hint BMW) for my practical but fast everyday car

Pics of the Porches or it didn't happen! A nice M5 would complement that lot nicely, good luck with the search as I think the really good ones are few and far between these days.

Thought I’d log back in after 8 years and see what’s happening and if any Chch members I knew pre quake are still active members. I remember some fun drive days out to Godley Head and to Timaru and meet ups at Pak n Save Moorhouse other places. Had a ‘99 E39 540i (in Diamant Schwarz) when an active member. Sold that when it started costing too much to keep on the road. Went back to a 2010 Outback to lug around kids sports stuff. That’s over now! Now have a NZ new 2011 E70 X5 40d Motorsport LCI (read facelift) in Alpinweiss as my company car. That’s the twin turbo version of the in-line 6 cylinder diesel that puts out 302 bhp compared to the 30d that produces 240 bhp. Love the smooth ride and the power. Fuel economy is 10.5 l/100 (27mpg), a lot better than the 540! Never owned a diesel before so it was hard getting used to the noise. Previous owner was my business partner who upgraded to the F15 X5M 50d. Will replace profile pic when clean and the sun is out. Mike

Hey all, new to the BMW community with the purchase of this 02 530i So far everything that's needed to be done maintenance wise has been done by the previous owner however there is a little bit of exterior cosmetic damage which will be an easy fix (there's an 02 528i in the orient blue metallic at pickapart that is in pretty good exterior condition that I'll go take panels off soon)... Currently on my list of things to do include: Retrofitting RF Locking system (currently Jap IR Key) New head unit (and sound system) LED Angel lights and fogs New wheels or recondition current ones Possible repaint in San Marino Blue next year

Spent a couple of days this week on a farm playing with some new G05 X5s, in their (un)natural environment. Not hard-core off-roading but even with 22" rims with very wide sports tyres (315 wide on the rear) they were still pretty capable. The new air-suspension making a big difference to the ride, on and off-road. Up hill... And down dale. 3Pedals would not approve, none of them were manuals, and there is no manual option for most of the range now.

Plugging a mates e30. It is a peach and it would be nice to keep but two other classics and a 130i being put into daily use means he’s compelled to thin the herd...........if you want a nice E30 take a look...... https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/cars/bmw/auction-1827088258.htm
