Hi All, I have just joined as a new member. I have enclosed a pic of my M sport 330i hard top convertible. I purchased this in England a couple of years back & did a great road trip through the lakes district & up to Devon, before delivering it to the shipper in Essex, to ship back home to Christchurch. Just love this car !!! Its my third BMW. I have been giving some thought in finding interest to restarting the BMW club in Christchurch, and have had some discussions with the Peter at the Wellington branch. I would like to say hi to all, & any interest club etc ?

These look like they are E34 style 5s not E30 M3 ones.

Thanks @Creaver Ian hows your manifolds coming along? let me know the sequence you get them on the motor too, save me a few hours trying Any how another weekend update, not much visually done but alot in respect to getting the thing driveable. Got the pedal box and clutch line in, (what a bloody mish that was) being upside down for a couple hours. Changed the diff oil . Rolled the guards Mocked up the alloy rad to make sure i knew what i needed to be welded from the Engineers, mainly a filler neck and overflow bottle. Took the brakes off the m3 and also will be going to the same engineers to get the carriers machined down by 5-6mm to fit the wagons hubs and disc to get skimmed too. So car is up and running but unable to start it with the key, once i get this wiring problem sorted ill get the exhust clip up. but untill then i cant move the car off the hoist as ill have no way of starting it on the ground. I have an auto sparky mate that works in another town that will be popping in two weeks time. Hopfully get it sorted by then. Thanks Team

Ideally after a damaged stock E46 M3 muffler. Will also consider undamaged examples. Reason being is that I am just after the two inlet pipes, hence I would rather chop up a damaged muffler than one that is in good working order.

There's a meet on the 24th November and cruise to akaroa. Look up BMW Enthusiasts NZ on Facebook. They try to have a meet every couple months

Obviously depends where in Auckland, but try SJ @BMTHUG at Apex Auto on Porana Road. He's a good guy, and has owned and looked after E30s for many years.

Brent sorted me out a pump for my M5. Swapped it onto my block and electronics. Saved me 4 grand.

Finally an E30 update, albeit small. Huge battle with the suspension company. My certifier picked up on the fact that the pictures in the report weren't of my setup. So they sent through a report without pictures, obviously my certifier wasn't happy with that. Literally 2 months later I have a valid report. Now just plodding my way through the rest of the defects. On a happier note! Traded all non-vital organs for these beautiful items. Wheel colour is different but I plan to fix that up by matching the centre cap colour. Apparently there's limited stock worldwide, figured I might as well nab them now.

Colour me interested. Perhaps piggy back on the hotrodders breakfast is a good start. Some euros already go (mini) I tried to kick it back into life a few years back but had no shows on my park ups. I'd love to do some cruises to Akaroa and such

Hi Paul Welcome to Bimmersport. Nice Car. I was once a member of BMW NZ, but lost interest due to the lack of South Island events. Would likely give it a go again if things start up again. Regards Murray

Hey Team So getting nearer to getting this wagon running again. Very productive weekend, drove all the way to Putaruru and scored myself a 750i large case lsd diff 3.15 ratio. This will be going into the e34 wagon. But the cool thing was i tagged along to visit a guy also into e34's his name was Ryan. Had 6 e34's sitting around! such a nice humble guy gave me this puck disc which looks almost brand new. But onto the main stuff managed to get this motor pretty much ready to drop back in. Just waiting on the clutch and we are good to go. Also going to install electric water pump so all i have to do is bolt the supercharger in place once ready. Modified water pump and cooling system to work with the electric water pump. Putting it all back together. also heard a rattle in the intake took the PCV cover off the back and found this loose. cool thing is it the older model intake with the trumpets on it.

Gearbox Detents There's a stack of info online for this. Particularly 50s kid (again) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRHjnROfRxU I bought the punch set from ebay and the detents from FCP. This isn't a hard job, but there are some tricks to doing it well, as I've learnt now doing 5 of these boxes.... In short: Start with 5th and Reverse pins (big pins) These used to have different pin size oil holes, now they don't. But the springs are different, and the detents need to be installed facing each other. Move on to 2,3,4 (small) detents Punch out the welsh plugs remove spring remove detent insert sleeve (use punch to not damage the lining!) Insert new detent insert new spring insert new welsh plug I now offer Detent replacement as a service to BMW owners - $500 drop in / pickup with a 1 week turn around. This includes me supplying the detents. While I had the box on the bench I also pressed in new front and rear seals. What a prick of a job.

Hey Team so finally got some time to get on to this wagons dry sump motor. Gave the short block and heads a good final clean and quite chuffed on how it turned out. Also managed to get the heads torqued down with new gasket and head bolts thanks to @francoisv hope to have the rest of it done by next weekend.
