I owned this about 12 years ago. Had it for 3 years then sold it to Ross @ BM Workshop. The present owner bought it off Ross. All BMW enthusiasts. Genuine unmolested example.

Replaced big end rod bearings There was a little wear on the bottom shell but being the downstroke and 200ks to be expected. No groves or marks on them or the crank journals phew. Installed the upgraded oil pump having lock-tight the bolt, torqued and wired it on! Pretty sure it’s not falling off. Then buttoned it up with a new gasket and some high-temp gasket maker where the repair to the sump was done. Next step is to press the new ball joints and bushes to the control arms, mount these to subframe and reinstall..

Well I guess all the "WANTED: 4DOOR M3" threads on here amounted to nothing or this would have sold well before it even got to TM. Awesome car in a stunning and rare colour.

https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m3/listing/2429235706 Long time lurker here. Thought this might be of interest to others keen on a rare E36 M3 saloon. Apparently only one NZ new in this colour. Quite a nice example.

Have a new set of e30/RX7 Brackets and Discs machined for a budget orientated person wanting a 4-Pot brake conversion at the lowest price. The brackets have been made locally and discs bought in and machined locally. Have had the RX7 4-pot conversion done successfully on a race car and a road car for a fraction of the of the cost of importing or buying the expensive ones made available on the NZ market Note: the disc in the pics is an old used one for display purposes only, boxes were in pics were re-sealed after machining Have a complete e30/RX7 Kit-set on here and Trade Me at the moment too. $250 plus postage. Pick-up would be near Feilding. PM or Txt 0204200254 if interested

Have you seen @hqstu 530? it is in very decent condition and he has been quite unreasonable in how much he has poured into it. The level of care makes the km irrelevant in this case, I believe.

On to the rear supension. Just replacing the swingarm balljoints, sway bar links and 15mm mtech2 bar. Upper control arms are loose in the balljoints but no play so they’ll get done later on. The shocks were suprisingly good still. They mount to the subframe and have very small travel so I don’t think they get as hard a time compared to e39 sedan. Thanks @andrewm for loaning the tool will need to make some repairs to it though ? As for the subframe bushes I’m thinking i’ll just pay someone to do them. No hoist and no special tool ?

Was that a white one a few months back? We asked the guy multiple times for the engineers report and he refused to give it. Was some wank just trying to sell it without disclosing it was a write off. I informed him of his legal responsibility and that he would be liable for up to 7 years after the sale. He blocked me. Hope he gets sh*t on.

Went to see this car today but basically turned around straight away. Regardless of history it was rough as hell and just made me feel like it would be a dangerous purchase. kiwi535 - you can buy the report from aus for $2 to see what the write off was for. (See my first post).

Copy that. Re reading again this morning, I missed that both trademe auctions list different colours, although the same seller.

1000km since the transmission work. Had a very aggressive jolt when shifting from 3rd down to 2nd for a while but that seems to have chilled out now. This morning out enjoying the current Wellington spring winds.
