would be nice if they designed cars old school style.. i.e. e30s bring back lancia LOL *just watched top gear* bring back the flip up lights !!
-
oo got me thinking.. are there any car manufacturers that are making new cars into old shapes but really looks nice??
-
if the plastic holders are broken. you can use pliers or vice grip to turn it. wrap the tips with black electric tape so it dont damage the key when you turn the key be firm but dont apply too much force... its either clockwise turn or anti clock wise
-
I took apart my front fender. and behind is solid frame and no holes goes directly into the engine that would make use of those vents LOL. is that a stick on or did someone cut out a hole and put it in? LOL bad taste IMHO
-
would be best if you can upload a video with sound my 2c

ok some basics.. but could affect gas milage: tyre pressure, wheel alignments, fuel filter, leads, spark plugs dirty trans oil, injectors, leaks, o2, MAF, dirty diff oil etc... is your car running lean or rich?? exhaust smells like gas?? oh and are you carrying a dead hippo carcas in your boot? LOL
-
its just the accelerator cable or cruise control. had that on my car as well. f**kin scared me when i started it and reved all the way up.. i got the plastic holder on the cable out of its socket and it caused the cable to pull on the throttle and rev. i popped it back in place and all was good again.
-
ouch... what part number is it? i got the blue top pump. i'll try and source out a 2nd hand first.
-
buy new pump? anyone know the part number?
-
found the problem. after doing the tester test and it passed i became pissed !! so decided to take it out. started hammering with a screw driver to remove the twist lock. i decided to start it again and it started !!. 30 secs idle. then it started to cough... i tapped the pump with the screw driver butt and idle went smooth again... waited 1 min and all good... reved it up to 4k lasted for 10 secs then started to die.. tapped the pump again and it went smooth again.. culprit: on the fritz pump / or got some debris inside the pump that clogged it up.
-
not really a car that i would spend that much money on. that much money on a e38... now that's a diff story
-
just looking for the tester atm will check the line and fuse.. and also will need to replace it as well.. got a bit of crack at the base of the power slots and smells like gas nothing strong but yeh... have taken out the fuel hose before the fuel filter and tried started it to see if the fuel would pump. fuel aint pumping / flowing so fault will be the pump or power line and not just a faulty sensor.
-
anyone know what part number it is? can't find the part number on the pumps top. or anyone know where abouts it is? dont wanna take it out without having the replacement. my car: WBABF22020JA76250
-
ahh cheers.. found the return... now just gotta find the part number for this fuel pump.. lol yeah been scouting round for a e30
-
ok kinda odd... my fuel pump has no return hose plugged in?? looked at fuel pumps on the net and there are 2 hoses on top of the fuel pump 1 out, 1 return. i only have out plugged in??.. is that normal?? mine has the connector on the pump but no hose plugged into it...
-
started it this morning. started normal.. then died 30 secs after wtf!!! i got it to rev up to 4k and all was fine.. after i idled it for 10 secs then it died...
-
damn sis gave me such a birthday present today LOL.. just no break huh lol.. called me up and said my car had died suddenly while driving at 60km. she got the car to roll into a car park and called me. i went there to investigate, started the car it started for 5 secs normal idle then died. then wont start again. got it towed home and suspected a fuel problem. checked if the fuel pump was working, listening for the tick tick noise that its working.. but nothing..( like the one on the pelican parts technical thread) checked fuse for fuel pump its intact. am i right to assume it is the fuel pump? it has not been replaced before since it was built in 95. have had the crankshaft sensor die on me .. but when that happened the engine still ran but on safe mode.

trying to remove the rear headrests from my e38.. replacing rear shocks and the shock tower is under the rear parcel tray.. hence everything must come off. i've looked at e38.org and there is a writeup.. but he says "pull up to remove" headrest.. i tried that on my one with all my might and it wont move.. anyone know how?? need to know asap thanks

gonna be a challenge looking at front right and left of that car.. look at those flares !!
-
upkeep cost on mercs are quite substantial compared to jap cars.. well as to be expected with euro cars. gas will be one of those things thats gonna dig into your pocket. so unless you can keep up with the costs you should think twice. but ive driven a 2000 one. great car. deep sounding engine. and great pull. but a heavier car than your jappy so wont feel nimble around corners
-
welcome dude.. yeah 97 have a timing chain. dont need to replace it. although may need to adjust it at some point.. on that matter.. where can me gets a timing chain tensioner for my e36? how much do those cost?
-
whats the diff between original and aftermarket?? ive browsed aroun a dismatler before and seen a fake and a real one up close side by side.. dont seem any different to me. except the real one cost 100 bucks more
-
yeah im quite astounded by the fact that someone is selling a pair on trademe.. and i think its 2nd hand for 300+ dollars... way too over priced... u can get a m3 bumper for that..
-
Heres what you can make your pretty purple parcel tray look like
