i thought you can't go to another WOF place if you failed at a WOF at another?? you gotta get your WOF from the place that failed you?? or is that just VTNZ stations??

from owning my e36 things to look out for: sagging headlining and door card trim glue.. they all suck. e36 cooling is a pain. some still have factory plastic water pump that blows up need to replace. - radiator plastic turns to mush with time.. check upper inlet plastic if its about to go (ask if it have been replaced or still orig) thermostat housing sometimes cracks with age and need replacing annoying creaking of steering wheel when turning a lot more electrical problems than e30.. depends on previous maintenance really door rubber seals and window seals tend to be worn/ripped obd pixel on the fritz coupe window actuator switch tends to be worn and can turn into annoying window going up and down... hmmm thats the problems ive had in mine so far.... anyone else to add onto that? Don't buy those wrecked up e36 that has been lowered way too low or have been running on no rear springs... damages a lot underneath and suspension and you'll regret it later with mechanic bills

LOOKS LIKE A DECEPTICON!!!

damn if the tyres are 45/18.. wud have hit that !!

preventative maintenance is the key... my thermostat decided to keel over when i was in motorway traffic on the fast lane... oh boy.. wasnt a good experience... temp gauge just kept going up...almost reached the red mark before i got to the shoulder... it fried my coolant sensor too.. and while your at it.. might pay to check your waterpump if its the plastic one change it immediately!!! if you are not sure when it was last done.. might as well do it as most likely it hasn't been done yet by the previous owner.

is that while the engine is running? my car did that as well. but was just on accessories ignition. battery was weak and once i changed it it went away

driving an automatic.. i would leave my left hand on the gear knob.. and sometimes at the red light.. would try and shift it to first gear.. and press the clutch... ( and this is on the e38...) LOL -> e38 have the handbrake pedal where the clutch is supposed to be:P

WOAH !!! i got it open !!.. lowered the window and kept lifting both the inside and outside door latches together and it popped open !! it opens and closes now with no prob... did it like 20 times.. i tried to open the outside handle while it was locked. and then unlocked it.. it happened again... but i managed to get it open again with the method i used before after 10 mins trying. now all i gotta do until the weekend is try not having anyone try and open while locked... will update what i find and post picture of what it was. damn stealers trying to steal my hard earned money !!

had the same problem on my one. culprit: water pump f'd up: my one still had the plastic one. it started to disintegrate it left debri inside the cooling, clogged up the thermostat and radiator and heater core. ( or it could be the fan clutch or belt not turning your waterpump) solution: flush out radiator [ i replaced mine as top inlet hose connector was wasted], replaced waterpump, replaced thermostat, replaced hoses and took out heater core and replaced, flushed system 3 times. the plastic waterpump

ok been around other forums and it seems others have problems with this as well, but still no solution or the cause of the problem. wondering if us NZders can fair better at solving this. went to the stealers and they said replace everything i mean wtf.... "as its an old car its better to replace the whole lot to gaurantee it wont happen again"... wat bs is that.. they said its gonna cost around 500 bucks and about 2 days as they will need to pry open the panel while the door is closed and replace the mechanism inside the door... he didnt even assess it properly.. sheesh.. it started last saturday.. i went to pick up my m8 and my m8 tried to open the door while locked. i then unlocked it ... the lock knob popped up.. he tried to open again, and it still wont open... i tried opening from the inside and it still wont open. both the outside and inside levers, when you pull on it it feels like its going to open the door. it has the feel like its pulling something like it would normally would, so i doubt the cables are snapped. any ideas??

hmmm got a 93 civic coupe in my garage that im working on.. damn sis kept driving it when the coolant temp was on red. killed the engine.. just got a new one in but the rego has lapsed as well. atm new engine is in, driven it about 500 meters drives like it did before the accidentall sweet. atm repainting the whole thing in my garage, and probably touch up on minor rusty bits. it has air bag. need to know what those stringy guys at compliance would look for so i can get the car prepped. might need to change the drum brakes at the rear LOL!! looks hideous !!!

hmmm well hada look see at the amp at the back, took out the connectors looked for dirty connectors but all good... sprayed contact cleaner in it, no water damage and looked at the visible lines for breaks.. but all good.. plugged it back in and started the stereo... the subs are not completely gone.. is just that its so weak [assuming i was testing the right speakers - the 2 speakers under the speaker vents at the rear parcel tray] even on high sub settings... prob blown subs?? but all 4 at the same time???
