    Cheap 130i

Pics please. You'll learn soon young Bedouin. ?
  2. I certainly wouldn't say that structural damage was "listed on the auction" and IIRC the answers to one of the questions was "nothing he was aware of". But I think we've all concluded this is an "avoid" vehicle.

    Cheap 130i

Maybe a little low at the rear... easily explained by less-than-new shocks.
  4. That's a good point actually. I think you can get it from BMW but IIRC the part number is almost impossible to find. Only the M3 shells came with the tower bracket and a guy in the UK ended up reshelling his M3 with a standard 3er and getting a genuine new part that took him forever to find. I'll see if I can find the discussion but yes, assume you'll probably need to fab something up.

    Cheap 130i

    Dude that's f'ing awesome, I'm smiling for you. And I thought I got a bargain. ?
  6. I'll finish the job for you. ?
  7. Most of the 3 and 5 doors I've seen come without, do you have a part number handy? I've seen the BMWP part with the two V arms but not this part individually.
  8. You need to start a project or showroom thread Scott to contain all of this goodness. That exhaust looks sweeeet, wonder if somebody can do that for mine? You also have a centre chassis brace (the black plate that your exhaust runs over in the second pic) that is not standard for the E87, bonus. Is the suspension stock? Who's doing the tune for you? Edit: why is the diff black?
  9. Mark got his flywheel machined and balanced over here, they took off a fair bit to get it right as I understand. I think it was a UUC one, @sweetm3 would need to confirm.
  10. If I recall correctly Mark (@sweetm3) got a lightened UUC flywheel and it was woefully out of balance when it arrived. Caveat emptor.
  11. Did the camber pin mod on the 1er (drilled them out for more camber). M3 arms and a new alignment hopefully within the next two weeks then I can tick suspension off (until I want an M3 rear ARB that is).
  12. I completed the camber pin mod this afternoon. Had read that the pins were aluminium but mine certainly weren't and took ages to drill out (and one was easier because I did it properly, i.e. straight through the middle). Once they were out and the nuts loosened the hats moved over really easily. Apparently you get about 0.5 extra degrees, you can see the range of movement in the second pic, it's actually quite a lot. Once I've installed the M3 arms, hopefully next weekend, I'll get it aligned and am expecting about 1.5 degrees extra camber in total which is about perfect.
  13. Today I experienced the proper way to add power to an E87. Get the team @HELLBM to squeeze a little S65 in there then make all of the corresponding (and necessary) transmission, drive train, suspension and brake upgrades. Who doesn't need 400+ hp in a 1er? Thanks for the opportunity to take it for a quick spin Ray, that thing is just epic. With those exhaust tips I would debadge it. For sure.
  14. Please do, it looks epic with the quad pipes.
  15. I don't know if this is relevant but make sure you don't have spongey clutch lines, it's a big thing to replace the rubber line on E36 M3's with a braided one to solve terrible clutch problems.
  16. Fine... https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2644758937 https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/interior/listing-2653585079.htm Edit: I didn't notice a difference immediately but are the bolsters deeper? And no adjustable thigh support it seems.
  17. The manual one in Christchurch is back up again for $7k. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2653167567.htm Beige leather but somebody buy it would you, add the following and be done for less than $8k. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/interior/listing-2653356396.htm I've been skoold on "comfort" seats so try these instead... https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2644758937 https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/interior/listing-2653585079.htm And Alpine White. Edit: although I've just realised you'd need door cards. Easy to get some PRE-LCI black ones for peanuts. Edit: But still, it's a cheap manual.
  18. My OCD got the better of me, I couldn't stand the difference between the halos and the fogs... I had to code out voltage checking but I expected as much, didn't want to stump up extra for the Philips CANBUS unit. Being LED's I can also run them as DRL''s if I like, undecided on that but it's not practical with halogens. All my white lights, inside and out, are now 5-5.5k so match quite nicely.
  19. LED fog lights in, so much better aesthetically and these Philips lamps are high quality. One side done... Both done, matches the angel eyes well...
  20. Hi, and yes insofar as I test drove a number of 130's before I picked mine up and I could feel the difference. Is it the ~20hp claimed? I'm not sure but it's certainly good enough for me. The LSD and suspension I have makes most of the difference, I found the stock suspension to be almost dangerous on B roads so if you need to replace suspension do not go for stock. And even the standard power was easily able to overcome the traction of the rear wheels and the DSC would kick in all the time, often at inopportune and dangerous times, with the LSD the DSC now only ever comes on in the wet when I'm powering into a corner from a standstill (e.g. intersection).
  21. Post pics and details of the 130 please... you can get them flashed, mine's running a 280hp tune, glad I've got an LSD... mine came like that, I'm sure others will know of options available here.
  22. Any risk of them resetting my tune to stock?

    New 4 series

With the whole font end integrated into one now, the grill becoming the bumper, even low speed incidents are going to involve costly repairs. Edit: the weight savings and CoG improvements are impressive for such a car and I must say I like the LED strip accent lighting. But that grill... and to see a lot of it is actually blanked off makes it even more egregious, not only is it ugly, it's unnecessary.
  24. I think it's this one then... wonder why it took BMW NZ so long to react? https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RCRIT-17V683-5875.pdf
