  1. Yes SuperPro are very good, have no hesitation in using them. If you're going to use BMW bump stops you MUST use BMW Performance ones, they're shorter, the stock ones are downright dangerous as your shocks wear.   2. That 123d isn't worth $6,600, poverty spec and no Xenons... you'd feel poor driving around in it.
  3. ? What happens when you guys drive a car you're not familiar with? In all honesty it took me an hour or so to get used to the purple tag and about 4 corners for the Z3 rack. I've never even considered an extended adaptation time, in fact this might be the first time I've heard it mentioned.

  6. Whilst they're very bright I won't claim I can measure how bright. The colour temp makes the lit area much more 'visible' to me. They're still only fogs and point down so i wouldn't want to rely on them as headlights for example. The beam pattern is almost identical to stock but it is both longer and wider by about 20% (guesstimate).

  10. 300m2 is actually large enough to consider a steel frame. Lift it in, bolt it up and clad it. Not so much "shed" as "building".
  11. I haven't had a proper opportunity yet... drive home in the rain yesterday and a commute in traffic to and from the office today. ? Probably not tomorrow either but I'm hoping to get out this weekend. It feels fine in "commute" mode, nothing too sharp or pointy although I do sense a tiny reduction in rear traction... could just be the cooler and wetter days recently but the DSC light seems to be a little easier to provoke.

  13. I got a 1" gash in the sidewall of a brand new (<100km) Eagle F1 255/35/18 on the harbour bridge from some random steel debris. That made me sad. Kept the tyre although I don't know why, what to do with it?
  14. There's lots of 16/17/18 talk here, just be careful to hone in on your specifics. A runflat that feels fine on a 16" rim might very easily be intolerable on an 18.
  15. Okay, the seller has said they'll pay for return shipping if I want to send these back. On that basis I'll skip Trademe and leave the opportunity up here on BS until Friday. So, if you want a killer price on proper Philips lamps grab these now because they'll be gone soon. If I get a buyer here I'll simply refund the refund I got from the original seller. Otherwise they're going back to the US. Note: I can no longer open the box for prospective buyers (because I otherwise have to return them 'as new'). If you want the absolute best, you won't find a sharper price.
  16. I didn't realise this, thanks for pointing it out. 225/40/18 + 255/35/18 = $1,373 which is pretty good. About $400 more than the Hankooks at Hyper... hmm.
  17. Pretty sharp price for a good tyre, although not sure it stacks up against the "Top 3" (Conti, Michelin, Goodyear - depending on who you listen to, some may swap Conti for Bridgestone) - what sizes were those for $1.3k do you recall?

  20. Gave back some respect to the M3 by replacing the 1er style 207's with a spare set of style 24's and semi slicks I had lying around. Much better.

  22. Alignment done (at Autolign Mount Wellington) so it's no longer dangerous! Alignment guys actually had to wind the toe out before they could get an initial reading it was so bad! They didn't think my settings were silly suggesting I'll get pretty aggressive turn-in with perhaps mild understeer when really pushing the front end and I'm good with that. They were very complimentary about the coilovers, said they were some of the nicest they've seen from a brand they've never heard of. They said the shock bodies were massive and that's a very good sign and they even mused whether they might have even been hand built. The accompanying hardware (adjusters etc) are also high quality aluminium and apparently easy to use. Anyway, they did everything I asked for but interestingly couldn't dial in as much front camber as I expected. And they tried but couldn't get every measurement perfect on each side... I have 0.1 degrees less camber on the left than on the right, they suggested (cheekily) that with the driver in the car that would even out. ? I'll scan the sheet when I next go into the office but in the meantime: Front toe: 10' toe out (-0.6mm) Front camber: L -1*06' R -1*12' Rear toe: 7' toe in (0.4mm) Rear camber: -1*48' Also evened out the rear end by lifting the RHS by 10mm and the LHS by 6mm. That's also more rear camber than I expected but I'm not concerned about it unless it causes me traction problems which I'll test out when I take it for a proper drive on the weekend. ?
  23. Hi there, These are now surplus to need and must go. The wheels are straight and have no curbing. They've been painted gloss black. Front wheels: 17x7JxET47 Rear wheels: 17x7.5JxET47 The tyres are very warrantable with 5mm+ tread on each, very even wear. Front tyres: 205/50/17 (Laufenn brand) Rear tyres: 225/45/17 (Momo brand) Is $500 a good place to start? I have no idea but I'm also open to pretty-much any offer. Opinions welcome.
  24. Yes, and to be honest, if I don't like it I can get it changed again. My M3 is zeroed out front and rear and I quite like that, really just want to try something a bit different.
  25. I hadn't but the quality of the assembly and the beam pattern were more important to me than CANBUS compatibility since I was able to code out the error. I'm sure you pay a brand premium for Philips but I have them now, little I can do about that!
