  1. I bought my phone at Queen Street. They were pretty useless and never told me anything about that. Great having decent camera on me at all times! Picture quality is pretty good, the only downfall is the very average zoom.
  2. 100% free? Or do I still need to pay for the data when video is streaming?
  3. Thanks all for your help. Another quick question - will this phone work on Vodafone?
  4. A mate of mine is looking at having a punt on this '01 728i. He had a look at it and said it was pretty tidy. I haven't seen it, but it looks quite nice from the photos (I do like the colour combo with facelift lights and the M-Sport steering wheel). He has a new jap hatchback as a company car and wants something to use in the weekend and to take on long trips. I have told him the 728i will be a bit of a slug, but he is OK with that and happy to cruise. Have also told him that if he ends up buying, he must get a warranty! I figure this would be a good buy at under $10k. Am I on track?
  5. I can't access TradeMe, so can't check the details of your car... But why do you want to swap an A4 1.8t Le Mans for a leggy 528i? I would think the Audi would be worth more. My experience suggests that swap deals never work. Best to sell your car privately and then find the right car.
  6. Hansen's are good, but IIRC can be quite pricey (I think they are associated with Southern Motor Court in Dunedin). Surely your mate will know someone local who is an AA member? Membership belongs to the individual, not the car - so it doesn't matter what car you call about. They probably won't be able to tell you much from the side of the road, but it is a free diagnosis and could be helpful.
  7. Would be a nice proposition, but large SUV's are never popular in manual. There has been one (maybe two) Porsche Cayenne manuals for sale for quite some time, you would think they would get snapped up - but think about the demographic that buys this sort of vehicle. A mate of mine had a late 90's Range Rover 2.5DSE in manual, again something you would think is desirable. When he came to sell it, it was not worth any real premium over an auto and took some time to sell.
  8. Once you buy a warranty, the true maintenance cost of an Allroad surely can't be that much more than a E39. You should also look at some "fringe" brands (as I call them). You can get a hell of a lot of Saab, Skoda or Volvo wagon for under $30k. Will be much newer and have lower kms than the equivalent Audi or BMW.
  9. Yes, the 530i at Coombes does look like a very nice car. Surely you could pick it up for yours + $25k... If you are after a wagon, you should check out an Audi Allroad. Nice ones are popping up for under $30k, and you have the added benefit of quattro for skiing or towing a boat!

For those of us that can't access TM... Kms, price?
  11. Hi all - I know this isn't a mobile phone forum but thought I could try a few of you tech experts for some help! I bought a Sony Ericsson W995 from Telecom on Friday. So far I'm pleased with it, it's pretty cool having an 8MP camera on your phone! I wouldn't mind using the phone to surf the net a bit. I asked the guys at the Telecom store about this, but they were abut evasive about what data plan I should get. Probably makes sense to go on a data plan rather than being raped by Telecom. Was thinking of getting the 120MB plan ($12) - will this last long? To check emails and surf the net occassionly, how much data would I be downloading? The other question is downloading applications. Is there somewhere on the net I can get games and apps which I can then transfer onto the phone, or can I only download them from Telecom? The phone has demo games loaded which are cool, but frustrating as I want full versions! Thanks for you help!

    Dual Sim Phone?

Spotted this phone. Looks like good value considering it is dual sim and plays TV. But worried it will be junk. What are your thoughts?
  13. Yep. Have you ever driven one? I would love to own one - but if only I wouldn't look like such a fag when driving it! When the hard top depreciates a bit I will seriously consider buying one, but will need some dark tint on the windows... As for the rest of the list, once you get outside the top 20 it is pretty arbitray. The list is (as to be expected) very Brit focussed.
  14. Good idea, but why is it compulsory? I would rather just go by my username. Having you actual name displayed also makes having a username pointless.
  15. eBay is the place to look. Check out these links: "Hamman style" M-Sport style Shipping will be dear, but if I were you I would order two and then sell the second one on TradeMe. I've done this in similar circumstances (as shipping for 2 is usually the same as shipping for 1) and it subsidises the cost of my part.
  16. There is also great coverage on Jalopnik. If anyone hasn't checked out Jalopnik, I would highly recommend you do so. The best daily updated car website out there.
  17. It seems like quite a good buy for $10k. Surely those wheels are worth over $1k? If you haven't seen the car, you really do always have an out if you can argue the car is not as described.
  18. Sorry, but I think they are horrid. Something I would expect to see on a slammed [insert 80s cap car here] driving up and down Queen Street on a Saturday night. Good on you for trying something different though!
  19. $10k?!?! The seller is on drugs. This is a LHD 520i in a hideous colour... Surely for that money you could buy a very nice NZ new 525i, or maybe even a 540i? Or, an E30 - Apex's touring would be a much, much better buy!
  20. Looking for something new to go reppin' and rollin' in? TradeMe is the best place for a price indication for a 'nice' E30. I doubt you would get much of a 325i for $4k.
  21. The Passat is a good, if a bit boring, car. A 3.2 with all the goodies should keep you happy though. Better still, wait another 12 months for depreciation to hit the R36 - an awesome car which really does haul ass! As for the Renault, avoid unless it is very cheap. Renault depreciation is shocking and comes second to only MG/Rover!
  22. Cheap Merc CLK500 for those who don't mind high kms... Nice in Avantgarde spec with AMG wheels. NZ new too... I would go for this over a 328ci. Est. $16,500 - $17,500 Can you get comprehensive warranties on cars with these sort of kms?
