+1, feeling a bit left out on the sidelines. and wish I had a sweet group to join too

you were right up to this point... opposite glenn - air is heated when it is compressed, whether is turbo, supercharger, or compressor Mike - At only 6psi from a supercharger I wouldnt be so concerned about running and IC. You're definately wasting your time running one before any compression has taken place. If you can fit one though go for it, as its easy horsepower.

I like they pat on the back they all give themselve with the road toll slowly coming down, its definately down stopping people speeding by 5kph. huge improvements in both active and passive safety measures in modern cars have got nothing to do with it.

yes, e30's with disk rear end need 6 lines

my e39 540i M-sport will be for sale soon... http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....=26615&st=0 just saw your price range, I'm after little bit more than that sorry.

if you only count people that post... plenty more lurkers than that

its different between chassis but generally includes bigger, more highly tuned engines, revised suspension settings or geometry, bigger brakes, different seats and other interior trim, bigger wheels, and depending on chassis things like bonnets, body kits, flared guards, spoils etc. E36 M3 looks the most similar to other E36's with Mtech kits, E30 and E46 are more recognisable as M3's

I've cleaned up some of the posts that were unrelated to the sale but you do need to realistic post a price or thread will be removed. By all means start high and go lower, at least we know what you want. Too many threads turn to sh*t, we either get loads of posts with stupid offers or the seller starts an argument he wont win. you choose...

cheers for giving the heads up Ian... Jack, welcome to the site but I've pulled your pics down. feel free to put them back up once you've resized them

I know of a few who have lost e30's in slippery conditions, often on roads they drove everyday. what I didnt like was 95% of the time mine would just spin the inside wheel, it was the other 5% when both let go that caught me out. Havent actually driven e30 with LSD so cant comment on them. E39 is far more progressive, even if it still happily spins inside wheel. DSC is nice safety net when cruising and you hit a slippery patch. Gets in the way and is actually slower if you giving it a proper go.

I had them installed on my old e30, give me a call later this arvo if you want. will PM phone # if you dont have it
-
you forgot to say DSC off

where does it say 530 on the 1st auction? its more likely to be a 523i given the year. I dont even think its proper schnitzer, looks like its got the standard Msport kit and someone has just put on schnitzer wheels and a trademe badge. find out if the wheels are staggered, could well be fakes if they arent. Havent driven a 523i but could be a bit gutless for weight of the e39. Also looks like it only has the basic auto, ie no tiptronic. that said it will use less gas than the 540i, and to be fair you cant really even use the v8 power around town- awesome for trips though. I dont think any e39's have paddle shifters, if it is tiptronic its done from the gear lever, its pretty good for an auto if it does have it though.

reading some of these mishaps and with a little know how they arent that bad at all. try getting into E39's, the few minor things that have gone wrong with or needed replacing cost as much as most of the long e30 lists. and I have owned both. e30's are cheap, a bit of work but cheap none the less. cant wait till I can justify owning another one. seriously, enjoy them while you have them.

quite like those wheels, would be nice if I could find some rears for them.
-
I had a rear tyre destroy itself over the weekend so need two new rears, would probably get fronts as well as they're rubbish... or I could spend a little more and get some 2nd hand 18's. I looked at some 18" alpinas a while back but the cost of the rims and new tyres was more than I could justify so they'd need to come with tyres. Not too fussed on style, looking for something OEM or along the likes of AC Schnitzer, Hartge, BBS etc. Would also prefer them to be staggered, 18x8 and 18x9, doesn't have any trouble lighting up the 255's so not sure how smaller 235's would handle it - could just be the cheap tyres on there at the moment though. Can anyone comment on how the 540's go with decent 235's all round? if I havent found anything by the end of the week I'll most likely get a set of tyres for the 17's on it currently as WOF is due soon and I dont like driving with mismatched tyres Cheers

what was wrong with using the oem clutch?

The fact you're asking makes me think Link. Once I had the bugs sussed MS never let me down but I was happy enough to play around with it and wanted to see what it was all about. If you just want a finished product that works I'd go Link. Will most likely be cheaper and less hassle in the long run.

what did the factories do? I had similar predicament with my ACS wheels, I ended up going for the polish option as there was no bolts to get in the way. Sam, I've had experience polishing before (built motorcycle mufflers and headers) and you need to apply quite a bit of pressure to do it right, I think a dremmel might be a little too gutless, better off by hand. might work ok around the bolts but would be very tedious.

guy on r3v made it. I'm pretty sure he even installed a radio, gauges all work, fans etc
-
thought that might get a rise out of you Comment still stands, I guess you and the previous owners all figured the same thing. I find it strange that after 5 years no one said anything. That said I havent driven an e90 (with or without suspension) so wouldnt know what to expect either

I'm amazed noone noticed the terrible ride quality?

Welcome to the forum. One of our sponsors sells H&R springs and should be able to help you out. I think his username is SUSPENSION. Also, I shifted you're topic from general into the correct section. Cheers

awesome! regarding the gearbox wouldnt you be better off trying to mate up something from a jappa or another BMW? maybe that gearbox was used in another car thats more common over here? Is 6 speed necessary given how much torque that thing will have?
