Yes, they can see all threads, but just can't post a new for sale thread until they have 10 posts. True, they can just spam but its a tough call on how many posts it should be. If someone is that determined they could post any amount of rubbish. If someone blatantly spams rubbish to get the post count up we'll look at removing the thread or membership.

I agree with that, but the point I was trying to make was that the wheels are clearly wrong for the car. If it was my car and I was on a budget I would be putting the stock tyres on, not poorly fitting rims with undersized tyres to make them work edit: pretty much as penry said it actually
-
^ while the shop shouldnt have fitted them with the rubbing its more a fault of the rim being the wrong offset. 205/50R16 is not tricky to fit on an e30, those rims must be way off.
-
my olds e36 is pretty terrible too, sagging headliner, broken trims and handles, climate control busted but that was easy fix. E30's seem to hold up way better (as long as you dont count cracked dashes, broken sunroof handles, worn seats or broken gloveboxes)
-
Same here, never found them appealing at all. I rocked the black rims with polished lips on my white e30 and reckons it looked pretty sweet. But if you want wide wheels and stretch tyres then you go no excuse not to buy anthony's
-
Yeah major balls up there (on my part). realised as soon as i posted

I might be missing the point here but if you want to weld the waste gate to the exhaust housing (cast iron) then I'm pretty sure the wastegate flange will have to be cast iron also. it is also very tricky to weld properly. 2.25" is not cool at all, especially for a 2.7L? why is your man having so much trouble fitting a 2.5 or 3" past the steering column? poor manifold design? I had no worries with 2.5" on my first attempt at a wastepipe (done on axle stands) and manifold? Dont' take that as a dig, If I did my setup again I'd change/improve so much stuff and know how tricky they can be to pull off properly EDIT 1: Ignore that EDIT 2: That could work. Whats the obsession with screamer pipe? Seriously get the car working properly first
-
Yeah, but only really in extremes. 50/50 or 60/40 water/antifreeze should be fine for most of NZ.

Cheers Guys Haha I know know the one your talking about

...or the guy who plumbed his NOS into the rocker cover

I'd be inclined to use the M50 coils because he has them already, and it will be a much tidier install because they're meant to be there. Getting the mitsi ignitors could be an option though. I'm not sure how many coils you can run off each ignitor, I guess if they're were designed for it you would only need three ignitors. Luke, you said its been running already, is this on standard ecu? If its on the link then how has it been setup?
-
PM function is there for a reason guys - use it.
-
I'd agree with camB here, I would be very surprised if link didn't have 4 ignition channels, that way they could drive 2 ignitors each for 8 cyl wasted spark. I'm 99% sure M50 do not have built in drivers. In your case you need 3 ignition channels for your 6 cyl wasted spark EDIT: see here: http://www.linkecu.com/products/pdfs/lemg3specs 4 ignition drives for 8 cyl wasted spark so you use 3 drives, and wire each drive to 2 x ignitors which will in turn run a coil each
-
Congrats dude, boosted e30's are pretty damn fun, even a midly boosted m50 will be freakin mental

Question: Do you have to use iTunes with ipods? I'd consider one if you didn't. I've seen a few break but that fact that theres is so many accessories for them makes them pretty hard to resist in NZ. IMO go for the big storage too, smaller ones just get annoying if you listening to it quite often. (doesnt take long to chew through music when driving). If its just for piss-ups 8gb would be ok
-
Depends how good a job the guy did when he built it, i added all the circuits when I built mine as other than a bit of extra work there was no reason not too. Its most likely there if he was running using the dizzy, I doubt he was using an external ignitor
-
There heaps of different ways to do this which makes it really hard to say what you should be doing, as I have no idea whats been done before. Normally, you'll be running it off the on board ignitor which is then wired to the coil. The ignitior basically tells the coil when to fire. (3 times per revolution for dizzy 6 cyl) If you have an adapter I would have thought this would be already taken care of. Other issue is that US spec cars could be a bit different to Euro versions. Have you got the megatune issue sorted yet? Dont even bother trying to sort any other issues until you have that sorted. You could go onto DIYautotune website and download their version of megatune and the firmware, then flash that to the MS. it worked fine for me. What version MS and board is it? (cant be bother reading through to find it if youve mentioned it already sorry)

What setup were you planning on running when you brought it? wasted spark or single coil? or using motronic to keep doing the spark? IMO I'd go with a wasted spark setup, grab some mitsi ignitors and coils and wire the sucker up, wiring diagrams are all over the net. Or for a cleaner install you can use the GenIII GM coils which have the ignitors built in, costs a bit more though. I wouldn't recommend this but you could switch to the old dizzy setup on pre-fl 320i and 323i, not a good idea as you really should have proper spark control with a boosted setup. will get you started and let you get the fuel sorted though.

Same here, Nothing wrong with 205's either tho. FWIW they are the exact same specs as the ACS wheels and they mention both 225/45 and 205/50 in their catalog, so I would be very surprised if 225's gave you any grief with the guards, a small roll at the most.

Awesome episode, download it if you haven't already guys. News section was particularly funny Also, that time from the FXX was freakin amazing, wasn't expecting anything like that.
-
I'd call them and ask? other place to try is these guys, good prices and service: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=10481 Around $150 mark from memory

just what I was thinking, we've gone quicker than that on gravel roads. Would certainly hurt if you came off though,
-
Definately going, should be awesome.

^What he said. staff discount was awesome. part of the reason the turbo build was so cheap haha. [OT] BTW; would fully recommend anyone work there for a part-time job if your studying, decent crowd worked at my store in chch that I'm still good mates with

C'mon, that video was pretty cool, looked like way more fun than hooning in a lake? each to their own though
