Thought some of you might be interested in Dad's new toy - BMW G450x BMW's first attempt at a proper enduro bike. Alot of it is quite standard stuff but few things have been done differently. The swing arm pivots about the same point as the rear drive sprocket so the chain length doesn't change. Single piece radiator is also different. He's also had the optional chip and exhaust installed to bring it up to 51HP, up from 40HP. I believe this was done for emmisions reasons, obviously once its sold they can play around with it.

I believe the oil is to help with cooling. not required for gas struts like the bilsteins?

Possibly a dumb question - How tricky is it use a USB memory stick to store songs on it and play them through the stock system? Easy or better off getting Ipod or CD MP3 changer?

they're pretty cheap to buy off somewhere like BNT brand new. And I'd get a new one anyway, have seen a number of old ones fail

I'm pretty sure it will bolt up, but I think the 1.8i head has larger ports. Found this when I used a gasket set from an earlier motor

offset depends on widths, not diameter. generally look for around et25 to et15. much more than 25 will look silly as wheels will sit in too far. (as most 17x7 mags are). I really doubt you'll find something you like (that will fit properly in the standard range of mags, Mag and Tire Direct have a few styles designed to fit the E30, but most are around the 15 or 16 size (which most people prefer to run on e30's)

no, it will reach 14psi at the same point it reached 14psi. Only boost will keep rising. (assuming all else the same). I'd be expecting your AFR's around 12.5, 13 tops if your running a decent boost

Don't worry about it, I had so much stuff go wrong on my M10 Turbo. Was my first project that big too, just learnt most of it by doing or reading. Mistakes cost a bit of $$ but I learnt heaps. Hopefully the next project I do I'll be able to use what I learnt. Stick with it if you can

I've got some 288x25mm that have been modified to fit e30 (redrilled and center machined out) , stock e20 offset from memory too. Was going to use 'em before I sold my car with E28 535i calipers. Actually have the whole kit (new lines, pads, rotors, brackets, rebuilt calipers). If your interested in any of PM me for what you'd be afterand we can talk $$
