MMM! hit a snag it's called money Andy, She is sitting in the garage turn the key and it's alive driving it up and down the drive is getting boring. Have one drive shaft hoop make final adjustments, trail fitting, painted and final fitting as well have bits for the second one to go on with. Will have a chat to the cert guy and see how busy he is last time I checked he had something like a dozen booked in he said allow 3 to 4 days each vehicle. In talking to him it appears to be more a paper war than anything and if the correct info is not readily available things get messy hence the pre chat to see if I can supply anything to smooth the waters. Still need to look into stage 2, fitting out the interior, wheels which is another thing to sort etc. will let you know when anything changes. Thanks for asking.

Is that the latest concept car from BMW :thumb:

Don, is it a e36, e46 model? 3.0l s50 or 3.2 as others have given a number of possible issue have you checked the" lock valve" in the clutch line No 15 bmw fan if it is like the e46 it has something to do with making the clutch feel softer not really sure but have read these can fail coursing all sorts of symptoms.

Hi Simon that is great to hear only wish to help and support even from a distance. Will you attempt the pump switch your self or give it to JG? even in light of your comments. Will be interesting to know the out come when you get the old unit out and stripped down. Could the root course of this have been the contaminated electrics, water logged connector then leading on to the faults that have occurred since?.

Could the number plate be a mind effecting agent

Would you allow me to make a suggestion. 1.Put the jug on and make your self a drink you choose and have a biscuit with it, take time away from the problem sometimes it is like being in a forest and we can't see the trees. 2. Get all the facts you know regarding the problem and write them down. 3. Start at the beginning and work through the whole setup 4. Go through each of these checking with what should be happening and what yours is doing. 5. List the ones that you can't come up with an answer to research these as far as you can, sure Tom and others would be a good source to seek help from as they have already shown 6. Refer to 1 and take time out Take from this what you want this method has helped me get out of a few sticky, expensive spots in the past still may cost but it might be a simple miss align pin. Cheers and best of luck

Gee Simon how's the hair holding out? For a so called simple system it appears to be giving you a real work over. Will be nice to finally find the gremlin that has been giving you all this trouble. Do you feel this is a straight out hydraulic fault or is it to do with the electronics that BMW throw in the mix coursing it. Keep at it Simon and nail the sucker to the wall or visions of 0.008 of a second gear shift or is that to many zero's

Is this correct http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-597489580.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-450034183.htm The diesel at 7.1 ltr/100 thought it would have been miles better The petrol rated at 7.2ltr not bad but with all that tech under the bonnet or have I missed something??.

Glad to read you are getting it done by some one that knows whats what. Let use know the out come when it has been overhauled.

Several of the members on here have carried out the Vanos overhaul. The yanks were raving about it a couple of years ago. Should your vehicle be having such problems get it checked over by someone that knows what they are doing first and be guided by them. Have found their are to many keyboard jockeys saying this and that and not knowing a thing, no experience gained by getting dirt under their finger nails first.

Walk away and look else were can get a lot better value/ reliability for your hard earned 12g. Story 2004- 2005 bmw diesel 3ltr drops thingee in manifold. At the time no second hand engine available but informed if available big bucks. The damage to the head, two valves, two valve seats, other valves lapped in, other head work needed, new piston, rings, bearings etc min other repairs to get going the bill around $5,000+. This was a sales mans vehicle doing high ks and had all the so called maintenance done????. Take from this what you like sh*t can and does happen time and k's just increases that fact.
