A couple of items you might keep an eye out for cooling system check between the cooling radiator and the A/C condenser core down the bottom found mine to be clogged with leaves and other junk. Rear suspension drop links and condition of the rubber boots etc Window switch's had trouble with the right rear one have heard springs in them fail. Seals around tail lights, has a spongy pad these can leak and course some trouble Wires going into boot leaves body and enters boot enclosed in rubber sleeve due to opening and closing action of boot over time wires can become broken

If interested some more info some one could run the vin and get the build sheet options Plate GWT 911 WBSNB92060BE18192 Black, E60 M5 V10 NZ Rego 20 Dec 2012 Imported from UK First rego UK May 2005 Assembled April 2005 Speedo 107,055kms history Its eight and half years Engine S85 Trans neutral looking at that gear shift and pedal set up I'm not sure how BMW Fans come by trans as neutral While looking at the pic's of this is does nothing for me it has not got that factor to hold my attention even though I know it's an M5. Things I noticed wear on front seats, drivers door card, tail lights have they been changed yuk, etc. The auction estimate of 37-39 on the high side IMO thought $30 32 tops but it is an auction.

Well progress has been slow working on a new exhaust and onto the second drive shaft hoop. This second one caught me out as I had followed the same design as the first one and realised I had forgotten to allow for the main heat sheild and exhaust that fit neatly under the drive shaft durrr. So had to completely re- think the way I was going to get it to fit as their is only about 40mm between the drive shaft and the heat sheild plus the sheild covers the tunnel completely. The exhaust system I have modified and rebuilt the muffler so that it is a twin system from the headers to the tips as the 325 system. https://www.dropbox.com/s/78e7eo5iuw7pell/Muffler%20Mod.docx hope I've done this alright.

That is interesting did you bother to challenge the ticket and explain that you felt concerned about the danger the tail gating created?.
-
What was the brand of control arms you fitted? as their are some cheap and nasty ones out their.
-
Yep it works fine (video) as did the handbrake, noisy little bugger haha have fun and enjoy it after all the hard work.
-
But they left it as a tip auto oooo dear.

Mark others less off than you my think the same of you looking at your line up of cars

Hi Andy you could'nt resist having a play with it could you haha . Comparing the before and after pic's ( IMO ) looks good without the spoiler makes the boot look heavy and wrecks the smooth line it had, what would it look like if the spoiler was colour matched?. If not reguired for a WOF then yes the third brake light needed to go as for the badge it makes it cleaner looking again a personal choice, was it an option on e30s like some of the later models?. As for a manual converse what do you prefere, what plans do you have for the car keep, sell on to make a few $$, what would be your target market if you did or didn't convert etc. After all that well done it does look nice and tidy hope you are able to enjoy it as the weather warms up.

Thank you Joe and Jason will have a look at it tomorrow.

If you can would have a chat to the prevoius owner and see if he can give you an idea what and when things have been replaced otherwise a big stab in the dark. This is the down side of not knowing what has been done to the vehicle no receipts, sevice book etc.Or you just say bugger it and replace all the hoses, waterpump, thermostat and any thing else that looks if ee. A pain in the ass I know but then you have piece of mind at least that you have done all you can to reduce the chance of a failure.
-
If your e46 is a 328 then it can be no later than 2000 so unless they have already been changed at 13yrs old they have done well. At a guess it would cost about $200 to replace the radiator and heater hoses cheep at half the price compared to the cost of an exchange motor should the worse happen.
-
Left hand side of the drivers foot well it's behind the covers tucked away in the heater matrix, plenty of write ups on how to replace them about 20 minutes from memory.
-
As stated a common problem get a new one as they have been improved upon, pull the heater fuse from the main fuse box the card should tell you which one it is.
-
Best of luck with your project may the gods of electronic's be kind also the cert guy you have. In the final straight with my E46Ti dropped a M54b25 and manual conversion.

Have used petrol and an old cloth put the petrol on the cloth and start rubbing the petrol dissolves the tar then use another cloth to wipe away what is left over. Just be careful not to over due it or the clear coat may suffer.

Don't have a missing solid spacer or the wrong shaft for yuor model of engine????
-
Hi Matt, depends according to BMW fans an April 94 M50 325 Coupe or Sedan the shaft is 1512 long but if a April 94 320 M52 or M50 the shaft is 1541 but check it for yourself. The kit you got seems to be coursing you some grief with missing bits and bobs.

Would this work on an E46?
-
Accoding to car jam it was first rego'd in NZ 26 August 1994 and has a 5 gear auto. Realoem.com has it as Convert M3 assembled 06/1994 S50 manual production code BT92 plus the speed error noted by Kaz take from it what you like.
