She's going to be a BMW driver - it would have been one about indicators

Q: How many Germans does it take to change a lightbulb? A: One. We have no sense of humour and are very efficient. I haven't bothered looking at "new" topgear. It's never going to be the same show as it was. Not sure why they kept the name, really.

If it didn't have the drug dealer wheels, maybe the cops would never have known

Andy is right about cutting the bottoms off - It much safer, as they clog like anything! Even Dads E30, that spent most of it's time locked away, and not parked undfer trees when it was allowed out, used to nee a clean once a year - There's anways be a stray leaf or something. I guess they were "valved" like that, to stop engine smelled being sucked in, but it reality, it doesn't happen (unless your engine is externally lubricated).

Our E39 bushes looked pretty good, but it wandered and floated - I'd have expected that thing to be hideous! Was it not?

Even if they have no errors, they may "strobe" when the cold checks are done, which can make some people think you are flashing your lights at them (even though it's only the angel eyes. Most shouldn't cause the bulb out error, if they say error-free, but probably/possibly do still strobe. SOmetimes you can get models that don't strobe, (I think the MTEC $$$ ones are OK, but not positive), or change to an LCM4 and then recode it to turn off cold checks (which is what I did - then you can buy cheap LEDS as often as you need to )

No - not for PM's I got.

Check the actual running temp, this is the E39 version - E36 probably isn't too different (ask Uncle Google): http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/47848-e39-obc-secret-menu-ktmp-coolant-temperature/ The gauges are super buffered. If all the air is out, and it's not getting super hot, there should be no gurgling noises! Standard cap is 2.0 bar, so with the correct coolant ratio, the boiling point is very high. Might pay to get a TeeKay test done to check for combustion gases in the coolant.

Might be worth going direct to disputes tribunal... ... you've possibly got some VERY expensive reapirs to do there, in a car that was just made no-WOFable at great expense!
-
I've got a pair of 235 RE002's, just came off the E39 Probably doesn't help though.... and we're still not very close to each other, though I can probably arrange to get them to your Auckland lockup at some stage

Wurth extra strong spray adhesive - suitable for headlinings. Ados isn't flash for headlinings.

Some alignment places know what they are doing, some REALLY don't. Seriously! Does the print out show everything within specs? Is the printout for the correct car and specs? One alignment place setup one of my old VW vans as the offroad 4WD version, which is completely different (tierods forward vs rearwards etc) and it handled like a plastic Mcdonalds tray. Got it done right, somewhere decent, and it was awesome! Same with the E39 - they last place got the rear tyres to wear 100% evenly, as I requested. may pay to check.

You must get sick of that POS forever requiring work...

Yep - they buy them from Hella NZ, generally.

Did you make sure it was rated for 507HP?
-
Might pay to do that, before it blows the headgasket again ;-)
-
Forgot the idle speed... Why is the temp gauge so high? If it just had the head done, was the CAUSE of the problem fixed? That gauge should not be that high. Idle may be a jammed idle control valve too - pretty common fault.

Ha! it's not worth anywhere NEAR what I want... and you'd probably want a mate who can do minor touchups, to make it tidy. It's cursed... by carpark users. Plus my wife would prolly kill me if I sold it... but she'd get over it :-) That sounds more reasonable! Manual E39's (genuine ones, not dicked with ones with variable results) are really hard to find, and people who really want one will pay over the odds. I did!

Ha. And from a dealer... that hardly EVER happens...... When's the next meetup at Mangatainoka???
-
Probably is the module :-( I got mine from maf-shop.de, new. I've heard a lot of mixed results from the repairs, and the guy I spoke to wan't too helpful - spend half the price of a brand new one that MIGHT fix it, and it not, they would sell me one for DOUBLE what I got the new one for, but wouldn't charge for the repair!

$6K! Those are standard seats, not comforts. The comforts have the 2 piece backrests. It's fairly bare bones, though at least they sprung for the high OBC and climate air. My 525i manual is much better specced, but I seriously doubt I'd get anywhere near $6K for it anymore

Realised how knackered the rear tyres have become! RE002's will have to be replaced with RE003's now. Perfectly even wear though - not super common on an E39, but rebuilt rear end (no worn joints) AND an alignment guy who actually knows what he's doing, and listens to what you want - I run way less camber than the Motorsport suspension specs say, and he set it up for even wear. Hahaha! So... just the mechanical bits then - everything else is fine! Until it all sags and drops apart. They just aren't like the good old days. I need a low kms, well maintained, 1 owner E34 manual V8 touring, really cheap. Perfect.
