Oh that is going to happen here for sure. It's like NZ looks around for all the f**k ups, takes notes, then files it incorrectly in the 'Do this' folder.
-
If you put the selector in sport then select a gear it will stay in that gear.

The dual mass flywheels can't be machine reliably. And they are expensive to replace. But the guys a few pages back said it is the most comfortable. The single mass flywheels are much cheaper and have more of a sporty feel to it. But you can suffer from vibration etc. The clutch kits themselves don't matter too much. All three brands are well known and good.
-
You purchased at the peak I'm afraid. Sell yours cheaper. Buy James' manual which is a pretty good price. Some of the pricing on Trademe is just wild.
-
Ah yeah I forgot modern manuals have such a thing.
-
Turns out the clutch is already quite heavy. I suspect that it may already have a single mass flywheel and heavy clutch plate installed. Would make sense at 207000kms for a reasonably neglected vehicle to have the cheaper option installed.
-
Ah cheers guys. I think I will go for the Single. Sounds like it will be more suited to what I am after. Seems the kits are pretty easy to get these days. https://spareto.com/products/valeo-clutch-kit/835115 Just over $1000 landed.
-
Has anyone gone to a single mass flywheel? Kits are not too expensive these days. I'm unsure of the condition of the Dual mass that has a slipping clutch plate.
-
Why does everyone think the LCI's don't have hydraulic steering? I've never seen an E87 with electric steering.
-
It's the going rate. Just look at the minter I got for $3k.
-
Looks nice. But if that is yours get rid of that plate. Easy pickings for a $200 fine.

I just cleaned the Black manual 130i inside (mostly) and out. It is the first time I could go over it.. Outside Needs Bonnet Painted Needs Roof Painted Looks like a small frontal at some stage (tow bar dent) and popped the bumper off in one corner. Windscreen has been replaced by Smith and Smiths worst installer. Some of the door plastics are sun baked. Dents. Everywhere. Like it was parked the closest to the door at the supermarket next to the new mum carparks permanently. One headlight is out. The other looks like it lived in the Sahara for most of its life. Inside The filth. Oh god the filth. I honestly don't think the seats have ever been cleaned. Front seats took me 30mins each just to clean. Not even condition yet. They came up nice though. I hate people with long nails that scratch everything they touch. Most of the interior came up nice. There are tacks holding the headliner. The entertainment system doesn't even try to work. Steering wheel is the worst I have seen in a BMW since the clapped E36 days. Mechanical Clutch is gone. There are lots of receipts. There are lots of oil leaks. It is pretty unmolested under the bonnet. I am pretty sure the owner never once opened the bonnet. 217,000kms and I am pretty sure it has had 2 oil changes total. Everything else seems okay so far. Battery died totally whilst I was cleaning the car. I can't open the boot until I charge it a little to see it. At the moment I am really leaning towards keeping it for Targa or something. Sharing E90 parts makes it pretty cheap to build something out of. I have been advised by Kayne Barry that I should look to find a final drive ratio which would allow me to use 3rd through 6th on the track. Avoiding 2nd. 2nd to 3rd is a wear point with these boxes. There seems to be plenty of parts for sale on fackbook marketplace for all the small stuff I need. How hard is it to convert the rear lights to the LCI ones?

They seem to be so focused on protecting their decisions than keeping our roads to a safe standard. A recent example down here would be the road between Masterton and Carterton. SH2. They spent a ton of money buying some ladies horse paddock to add a U-Turn bay. This is due to the Motorbike rider slicers they installed nearly the entire length. However the two corners on this road were not addressed. They didn't use there land purchase (which was right between the two corners) to straighten out the most deadly piece of road. They just dropped the speed limit, installed wires and left the crumbling surface. It actually didn't stop someone dying just after they dropped the speed limit.... Just a warning to anyone going through there. Don't trust that the surface won't damage your car. There has been several huge wheel killing potholes through there each time it rains.
-
They are all through the Wairarapa towns now. They are inconsistently built, cause a huge increase in noise for those who live around them (truck acceleration etc) are poorly lit and pooly marked, I have seen unsuspecting people hit them at 50kph. This is all on SH2. 99.99% of the time they are unused. They should have lights and a button. I think there is meant to be 18 of them installed just between Masterton and Featherston. The roads here have been choked. At one stage between Featherston and Masterton there were 22 posted speed limit changes. And to top it off there are No passing lanes. Only Slow vehicle bays.

Seen this car many times over the years. Always well kept. Seems way too cheap. 1989 BMW 535i Alpina B10 https://www.trademe.co.nz/4686601122

Does it use the factory screen?

Picked the manual 130i up today. It's pretty neglected. One NZ owner. Typical NZ A-B owner that has done the minimal it's entire life. I do have a ton of receipts for it though. It is the grubbiest BMW I have ever been near. Thick grime on all surfaces that you would touch. I went through about a dozen wet wipes just cleaning the gear knob. Yuck. Clutch is gone but I was able to drive it over the hill without it slipping much. Will decide if I go single mass or dual mass once I decide what I will do with it. Paint is neglected to hell. I did a quick spot check to see how it would react to some cleaner wax and it came up not too bad. So will cut and polish the car. There are dents and some shitty paint from a cheap repair on one of rear quarters. Car has been sunbaked so I will replace a bunch of common trim bits. Standard oil leaks. Needs a new steering wheel badly. But other than that there are no vibrations, suspension is better than my white ones. Engine seems responsive. Good deal for $3K. It's the black one BTW. Good from a far, far from good.

This. And that most BMWs I'm interested in are poorly specd. Or grandad colours. So imports that have been owned by a NZer could be even worse than a fresh import. Total lottery.
-
Probably. I have a built 6spd here I should use for that. We may put it around the track for this year's time trials at Manfield instead of the 200sx. Will get some photos of its condition when I see it.
-
Wasn't a scam. She's not that bad. Def new clutch. $3k for a manual 130. I'm happy. Now what to do with it. Do I steal its box for the race car and N55 the E34. Or do I just beat on this at the track.
-
I purchased this earlier. Will let you know if I've been scammed haha.

I have a dual Noco one charging my 6v scooter and the wifes AGM battery in her 200sx. I also have a CTEK which does the same job at double the cost and has 12v only. This one is only 1A but is small form factor and great as a maintainer. https://www.amazon.com.au/NOCO-GENIUS1AU-Fully-Automatic-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B08D6WV445/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1 Lots available for Noco. I think supercheap sells them at an inflated NZ retail price. https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=battery+charger+noco&crid=2VC4T3R1YY0JE&sprefix=battery+charger+noco%2Caps%2C221&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 Good old CTEK. Nothing special these days. https://www.amazon.com.au/CTEK-Temperature-Compensation-Motorcycle-Reconditioning/dp/B075XSPGM7/ref=sr_1_8?sr=8-8 I have this Noco. Is great. https://www.amazon.com.au/NOCO-GENIUS2X2-Fully-Automatic-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B08F37P7H3/ref=sr_1_13?crid=2VC4T3R1YY0JE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.WZ8LU3suVrQJ9O1Xsv6kxNpvBkRyCVe317e-Dn1xt8lmFmYP636U3U1lilQLpUYjHtGGeFiHZIrjc8DV_F3BUf3WnvONt-JbTkefBcOBFyDrf-LM_pUl6ywKTj5mz4i01HTTWT1LIsdKcr8_toN9rVyOmg2Myji8p1Yb4rEv4H8mSISmAEa2sYjpb55wpD6nShs5s1koTAgX3nRXErysskNwYvv_hzhWWNy4lo5ssiQWlVsp5IMpzFRyr2qPduquIpEU-x5oweGArN8PY48aB41NcGBRFegGgmT5yPWSab4.3H5vkfVqe6akk5vaU75l2rAbh8o_uj4szt4cXSUawQw&dib_tag=se&keywords=battery+charger+noco&qid=1712654470&sprefix=battery+charger+noco%2Caps%2C221&sr=8-13

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
Driftit replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
I'm thinking the same. I have a Med 4.1 LSD built by Kayne. -
Ah it was black huh. Where was the blue one posted. I am sure we have seen this one or another the same colour on the forum.
