  1. Yeah it was mentioned somewhere in this thread. Though there has to be a cause as mine lives outside and I have never had a problem with water ingress.
  2. Do you go under your leaf so you don't have to look at the top of your leaf?
  3. Hmm very interested in this. Still following the guys in the US with the ITB kit too.
  4. Just had mine out. It is doable but I wouldn't want to do it on the ground. Driveshaft out would give you more room too.
  5. Anywhere that specializes in performance wheels and tyres. Hyperdrive deal with big rims all day. The standard tyre shops don't usually have quality equipment to protect nice and more fragile rims.
  6. Ha no I think the one I have was actually a gift to my dad back in the late 80s early 90s. It had a base once. Mine actually has a slight chip in it. It was all around the time llardro was a big thing too.

    Quick rant thread.

Sorry I worded this poorly. I'm not looking to use the basics like adblockers, browsers, and other search engines. The example I gave was to show that Brave is in fact not blocking all ad's like suggested. I'm wanting to block Temu from my existence without breaking crap like googles search engine, instagram, snapchat etc. (for the sake of others on my network e.g. wife) I'm looking at pihole or NextDNS running on my ubiquity UDM (the rabbit hole). pihole doesn't seem to do well with sponsored ads in apps as well as I hoped.

    Quick rant thread.

It's the sponsored section that annoys me. It is creeping its way in everywhere now. Need to remove myself from the google world. Which is not all that easy. E.g. Android phone. Brave doesn't save you anymore. Google keeps finding a way around it. Or they break it so you have to turn off some features to make it work. I probably hate Temu a little too much. Like as much as I hate Ford Rangers on rural roads. A bit concerning.

Temu is there too. It's annoying when you want suggestions. But the only suggestions given are from one company peddling absolute sh*t.
  10. Yup. I did the same with the extensions. I tilted the engine back as far as possible. But those top two bolts are absolutely the worst I've dealt with on any cars gearbox. Even with the hoist it was still not enjoyable.
  11. Finally took the 130 for a run with it's new single mass flywheel conversion. That is one heavy gearbox to lift in on your own! I also removed the soft valve thing (#13) . Took forever to bleed the system. Even with a power bleeder. In the end the save was removing the slave and bleeding it whilst the bleed nip was at the top then reinstalling it. If you are using a power bleeder do not touch the clutch pedal at all. I'm still running the clutch in but it feels great. Good pedal feedback and clutch engagement is obvious. It is a lot sharper than the DM flywheel and fully wound out auto adjusting clutch I removed. I'm happy with it. Will get this car on the track soon.

The cancer that is Temu and Google. Currently down a rabbit hole of blocking any search result that includes the Internet Cancer that is Temu. Without breaking google totally to block their sponsored Temu results is quite the task.
  13. $100 from pick a part. Gone are those days. These cars are now just a toy and cheap commuter.
  14. KiwiRail video shows train smashing into car on rail crossing in North Island | Stuff Nice 130i got smoked by a train last year down the road from my work. Took out all our crossing monitoring equipment too (the white boxes on the right). Girl was apparently on her phone.
  15. 207. And it looks like the original clutch. Rear main was leaking but not as bad as I thought. Flywheel had play in every direction.
  16. Swapping the clutch this weekend. Got caught out by the T60 flywheel bolts of which I didn't have a key for. Had to buy one at 5:15pm on a Sat. Dual mass has a ton of play. In every direction. Self adjusting clutch had nothing left to give.
  17. That's some high numbers. My supercharged V8 is 11.8l/100kms on average. A friend did have some pretty severe drive train issues in his N52 powered one. Rear Diff chewed itself out. The transfer case bound up. And he had to replace the torque converter which was possibly due to the other two problems. Suspect was incorrect oils when serviced by car yard. Never proven. Dollar reserved it.
  18. https://www.bimmergeeks.net/ Is brilliant. I have not opened my shitty temperamental ista laptop in over a year. All done from my phone. Including programming.
  19. Not the first. We had one a few weeks back. Google image search shows you are correct with it being in France. They are posting via a NZ IP address though. Let's leave it up and see what happens. The Dead Internet theory is becoming a reality at an insane speed.
  20. Masochist : a person who enjoys an activity that appears to be painful or tedious. "I've got a Disco 3, an old VW and just bought an old 135i"
  21. I've seen these cheaper overseas. But this is the sort of item you are after. https://www.audiocity.co.nz/bmw-apple-carplay-android-auto-retrofit/bmw-3-series-apple-carplay-android-auto-upgrade-2012-2015.html
  22. The 130i and it's N52 motor are very very well covered by Youtube help videos. You would be far better off with a BMW than a VW or anything from VAG both due to ease of maintenance and cost of maintenance. I picked up my 130i manual for $3K. As you're beginner I would recommend one at least double that value. I'm changing clutches etc.
