I find the Wellington directions are all quite odd. Same for google maps. After a few runs in the wairarapa it seems to be learning the more efficient routes now. I leave it running even when I don't set a destination.

Actually as I have said before. Most people use Waze in the US as a crowd sourced info app. Bad traffic. Speed Traps. Couches and mattresses on the road (fitting for West Auckland). And yes it displays the speed limits. And an accurate gps speed of the vehicle. I run it just for the info. I wish more people did.
  3. Sad to see another drivers car destined for someones garage in the hope that it will double their money.

I have a number from when I once imported vehicles for a living back in the 2000's. But we are talking $20,000 items. Not $500 worth of car parts. I agree. You should not have to register unless you are frequently importing as a business or are bringing in expensive items. I would say they are trying to force you to go through an agent rather than register. Makes it easier for them. Their rules are out of date.
  5. Ah he did the old own and run a race car thing didn't he.
  6. Does anyone know the guy whom owns a number of these including that Rep M8. He might be interested in it. Being a manual.
  7. Yeah that's the one. Sitting where the cops usually sit going North between Lower and Upper Hutt. Sorry don't know Wellington that well yet.
  8. Abandoned E39 on the side of the highway between Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt. Smashed back windscreen. Looked to be on mpars. Silver and spray can black paint.
  9. Yeah either that or an aftermarket gps antenna.

My race car has been sitting stored with E10 in its tank for 4 years. Planned to drain and replace all fluids. But I wonder if it will be ok.

That's rage inducing Rich. Can't ask for security footage? Slip security a few notes for a look.
  12. Manifolds both came off though. Meaning they will make something more traditional to replace them. I would say the most difficult part will be programming that Vanos stuff.
  13. Also look for Westfalia on Ebay.co.uk Sometimes the shipping is not too bad.
  14. Yeah that's interesting. If anyone finds out let us know. Also the block looks good. 2jz boys will be crying when they prove how much better the B58 is over the old donk.
  15. Really interesting tear down of the New B58. Quite a few surprises over your normal 6cyl Turbo. Very interesting.

Gees same thing here. Looking for hard to find parts for a very rare model 4wd. So far 5 places that have told me they have the parts have not had them when I have turned up. I ended up having to buy the parts from Lithuania... And they arrived quicker than parts I ordered from Hamilton... with cheaper shipping. WTF NZ.
  17. Best of luck with the sales. And all the best for the health issues.
  18. Just merged the two posts. Feel free to edit them into one if you like. Also wouldn't a kit for an E12 be rarer than rocking horse turds? It could be worth advertising on Ebay to get that international audience. Even with the pain of shipping you could get more than you are after.
  19. Cheapest I found 4 years ago was $80 per week for indoor storage that would be entirely taken up by a single car. And most storage places did not want a vehicle stored inside. I was just going to sneak it in. It was so expensive in Auckland I shipped my entire house and two cars down to the Wairarapa where I got two brand new containers for $25 a week.
  20. Saw heaps of them in the US (DC, VA and FL). I'm one of those strange people that only like the Panemera but no other Porsche. Just noticed your in Canada. Actually a strange car to see up there. Hardly saw any nice cars in Canada.
  21. When the new NSX bangs a Camaro. A few reports regarding the interior quality. Very GM if you know what I mean. Also absolutely ignore anyone saying this car can be had for under 70K. That is the MSRP. The dealers will mark this up 25%+. Exactly the same as the do with everything else in this class. E.g. New Supra, GT3's, GTR's.
  22. Mint condition Women's Extra Small BMW Jacket in white. The Mrs "Won" this after a complaint about some poor service from a BMW Service. It's been worn only a couple of times. Might be good for a kid too. Mrs is quite small. I wore my one to death. Awesome warm Jacket that I was happy walking around in -10 degC in the states. Freshly dry cleaned. $55 Reply here. I'm pretty much an advocate for buying everything online and avoiding local NZ stores now. And lets be honest. It's not often you are passing on a NZ owned store. They are all Aussie stores.
