  1. Some white paint and some stickers. Easy 30k.
  2. ROFL. If something sells an average barely collectable car for an amount that you think Wtf are they crazy. It was probably BAT that sold it.
  3. My whole argument here was how the LTW is an inferior M3 and would have little interest outside of the US market. We all know why they are selling for that much in the US. And just in case. Because they don't have the better M3's. Trying to convince me the LTW is just as good by making things up like better suspension and interior... well you should have put your blinkers on and checked your info first.
  4. But that's my point. The market for them is only in the US. Where they are from. Outside of the US I doubt they would get any interest outside of someone wishing to make money on one by selling it back to the US market. Also it was a charity event so people went mad. Watch the one on BAT for a more realistic price.
  5. I dunno. Looks a little melty. Might need some new drive belts.
  6. As Dave said. No they don't. Better interior... no it doesn't. Even comparing a LTW to a stock rest of world spec M3 the real M3 still has a better power to weight ratio of 5.1kg per HP compared to 5.5kg per HP of the LTW. The Evo just blows it out of the water whilst listening to music with the Air Con going. It's just a Homologation car built to suite the Americans based on their "M3". They have no relevance outside of the US. The rest of world version of this car which is far superior is the M3 GT (356) or the incredibly rare M3-R from Aussie (15).
  7. Think it will head overseas? Aus and the UK are gagging for them.
  8. Now BAT has a stock E36 M3 from Japan on the site. Superior car to the Ltw.
  9. I got mine for $700. Cut the bellhousing up to fit my M30. They are not that expensive.
  10. There is one on BAT trying to take advantage of the silly prices Walkers ones sold for. Apparently one guy purchased two of them. Think he realizes that they only have value in the US as they have a sub par US spec S50?
  11. Definitely. I instantly have no interest in them.
  12. Agree. 135i + 10k and you're already leaving the 1m behind. 1m is a great looking little car though.
  13. It's still a good one. And could be a primo example with minimal work. Well looked after E30's have still had the sh*t thrashed out of them. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. They were designed to be thrashed. That is also why we love them.
  14. Yeah that's it. Guy hasn't owned it long. You could have had it for a steal 4 years ago Jon. I couldn't move it back then. Isn't it amazing how many people want them now that they are going up in value. But they were worth nothing 10 years ago. I purchased that off Shelly for $5K. Chucked on some $400 BBS wheels nobody wanted. Cut some rust out. Rebuilt the diff and changed the oil. And thrashed the living sh*t out of it. Now for sale for $12K more.
  15. I think forums need a warning the last reply was so many years ago message. But I appreciate people are searching and contributing. It could be worse. It could be Facebook groups where the same questions get asked every week because the search is useless and the knowledge just gets lost. And it is not searchable outside of Facebook. The Facebook era will be a massive loss of info when it finally dies one day.
  16. Haha. I remember saying how this was a base model shitter a while back. Nothing about it is desirable at all. Color. Interior and Interior color. 318. Sunroof. PFL. Non Motorsport. Non collectible KM's. Terrible wheels/hubcaps. Cracked dash. Dodgy electronics. Wind up windows. No AC. Poverty Pack. Also failed it's last two warrants.
  17. I think I paid $800 for some fully refurbished ones. But 17x9 and 17x8. I've never actually used them. I am hoping they are in boxes somewhere in one of my containers. Though I can't recall seeing them strangely.
  18. It's just a very limited and expensive Ebay now.
  19. Yup Gavin is great. I miss living in the area and having that on the spot access to so many parts.
  20. I've never purchased from a dealer. And never will. Is it weird I feel like they don't deserve my money? If you can't find a car that you want from a private individual. Look at importing one yourself. I would never have had half the cars I have owned if I didn't bring them to NZ myself. Also a dealer burnt me when I was a kid. The very first time I tried to buy a car from one they tried to bump the price at the last min due to another person wanting the car too. After about a weeks negotiation and me having already got the finance for it. I had to walk away. I never financed another vehicle or went to another dealer it was such a sh*t experience. Maybe a new BMW one day. But only from BMW Munich.

    Gissa job!

I'm on the hunt too. Primarily IT based. But also relationship management. However Wellington is a strange market. Very much who you know. And all the recruitment has turned on Lazy Mode and automated the first step of application viewing. So if you are sending out applications make sure you include as many key words from their advertisement as you can.

    Quick rant thread.

My father in law loves showing up to bike events on his RD350 and RD400. That 2 stroke rasp is a real head turner. Sadly a few weeks ago a lady in an oversized SUV took a racing line into her driveway. Moved to the center line to take and unnecessary wide line into her drive way. Didn't indicate. FIL thought she was going right. Locked up and went into the side of her car. Freshly restored...
  23. Thought about selling my plate as I haven't been into drifting since the mid 2000's. But I have had it so long I might as well just leave it on the race car and confuse people.
