  1. Hey mate. There used to be a good guide on the forum. Now I can't seem to find it. I followed it around 10 or so years ago for my E30 series car. Otherwise a LHD one will be fine. Only thing that differs is the reservoir for the clutch. Which is really straight forward. One thing that is different between autos and manuals that catches many out is the spigot bearing that goes in the end of the crank and aligns the gearbox shaft. Autos don't have it. Manuals need it. Everything else is very bolt in/on if you have a complete conversion kit.
  2. Not going to modernise it? Friend of mine is just finishing off his 2 owner 69 Camaro with a 600hp LS3 from a Pontiac G8 (Holden). Huge amount of work done in the US while we were at the Embassy. Car might already be back in NZ. Nelson based.

    Quick rant thread.

Will be lots of investigations later on I would say. I'm a contractor. I'm finding all the senior staff have nothing to do so are doing my work. I'm going to run out of work.

    You're not that old Jon.

Older folk who soak up any Covid-19 news fed to them. But don't practice any of the recommendations to avoid it other than panic buying groceries. And why are there so many overweight semi crippled women in Wellington. Ones who can barely walk yet are clearly still working cushy forgotten government roles?
  6. Yeah was going to say the same thing about Mighty Car Mods. The same went for brake pads. Couldn't say they didn't have asbestos in them so they were not allowed in. The restrictions don't seem designed to protect people. But protect the market. Obviously the restrictions extend to the freight companies. Saves the government having to police it.

I'm interested how you completely misinterpreted my comment to having a go at the owner. To clarify I said the owner will probably sell it for what he is asking and that one particular White Knight (noun - a person or thing that comes to someone's aid.) would offer the owner a turn on his Mrs for succeeding. I couldn't care less that the guy is flipping the car. Just laughing at his comment section.

That comment section. Warriors vs White Knights. I'm pretty sure one of those white knights would let you have a turn on his Mrs if you sell it for that much (which you probably will).
  9. Yeah that's a huge nope. Whilst I love the E46. I don't love that one in the slightest. Even if it was 6k.
  10. Agree. At 400k kms I would just do whatever to it. Just have fun with the platform.
  11. Keeps you on your toes. Driven a few E30s with flogged out subframe bushes. Ass end just followed the ruts wherever. But M3. S54s can be had for pretty cheap out of the US. Seen them as low as $1500usd. Bit more if you want accessories.
  12. Was also wondering about this. Though I'm no longer allowed new projects. Apparently a house is more important.
  13. Flat open ground so yeah I will need a wide deck. Thought I would just hook up a small dometic fridge with some beers and go at it. I have always wanted a JD so will take a look at what I can pick up. Animals will be on the cards too. But down the track I think.
  14. Yeah it's still there now. 535is manual.
  15. So it really is your own fault if don't bother buying a report before purchasing the car.
  16. Haha would be pretty fun. I actually found a towbar attachment mower. Self powered you just tow it around. Lawn mowing time trials?
  17. BMW doesn't make them. So I have no idea where to start. Mowing 3500m2 of pasture. Anyone on here spend some weekend time cruising the paddocks? Ton of second hand stuff out there. Which would be preferable. Rather spend the real money on the garage and a hoist I am continuously reminded that I'm not allowed.
  18. To be honest I think I am recalling a court case rather than the law. The Contract and Commercial Law Act protects the buyer to a limit against shifty people who mislead or falsify info. In 2003 when the frontal impact laws changed and all the damaged cars started being tagged as such I think their was a case which involved a flood damaged car. The owner found out 7 years (or thereabouts) afterwards and made a claim. And won as the fact it was a flood damaged car was not disclosed and would have meant the car would not have been purchased. I was importing damaged cars at the time. And stopped shortly before the change. Having it tagged like that would have killed any profit. I will try and find it later. I'm procrastinating my land purchase documentation atm. But by not saying anything are you really misleading someone? I guess it depends on what the buyer asks them.
  19. I asked. Wonder if he realises that withholding that information from the person who purchases it is illegal. And that they are liable for up to 7 years.

    Quick rant thread.

I just don't want to pay anyone else silly amounts of money for basic issues. Even a simple service in NZ is double what it should be.
  21. Hey mate. Can you chuck up a Price as per the forum rules.
  22. What a load of dribble. You asked the questions but didn't want the answers. And it's "Bully RS3 drivers over the Remutaka Hill". Look it up. Understeer. We stopped and chatted afterwards. But whatever.
  23. I had a 55" TV in it's box in the back of my 130i. Laying flat. And I think it has had a washing machine in the back at some stage too. I love my one because it does everything I ask of it well. I can park it anywhere. Take it to track days. Do high speed runs at Ohakia. Cheap insurance. Comfortable. Allows me to bully RS3 Audi's over the Remutaka hill. But most of all. It cost far less than what I would consider the next comparable vehicle.
  24. Gone are those days Glenn. Facebook killed it. As more and more ditch Facebook BS may one day rise again.
  25. OMG. They have all their cennies.
