Just a shame they are unaffordable to most in New Zealand. Where as I could wander on down to BMW right now and get one on lease for a fraction I could in NZ.

Trust me. The system is far far far better than the system here in the US. I have never seen the same "GP" twice in 3 years. Though I have tried to each time. I have had to go to the doctor for very little yet my insurance states I have spent $15,000USD. They hate to give you straight answers. If they are wrong they get sued. They send you in this big circle among "Specialists" which feels more like an organized scam than anything else. Each of these will re-do the same tests as to squeeze every cent out of your insurance. Everyone here self diagnoses. In a way you have to or the doctors will head off in a direction, then stick to it so as not to admit liability to the f**k up. But you must also be very very careful with this as they may just agree with your diagnoses to make things easier and more profitable. If you don't have insurance and get sick. You are screwed. If you owe them money. They will put you on the street. Do not travel here without insurance. The public system might be slow. But at least it is there for everyone.

It's still bigger than an E30. But is the smallest of the lot.

This stuff? https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/oem-oil-service-kit/m61060oci1/ or https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assembled-by-ecs-parts/ecs-tuning-oil-service-kit/m56svckt/ I just get these kits. Actually this time I think I went with the build your own and got the liqui moli oil. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assembled-by-ecs-parts/build-your-own-bmw-e6x-m5-6-s85-oil-change-kit-inspection-i/s85svcpdk~dk/?pdk=AQIBAQM -
Yeah I agree. You won't get far before pulled up by Police. And they will make you then get WOF through VTNZ. The M4* series of motors don't sound too sh*t hot even with a moderate exhaust.

Just slam the door hard. Should simulate this feature very well. I call it a feature because there is no way it can't be a part of the design as it happens on all of them so often.

It's been so long I can't even remember what my M30's look like. What are you doing? I'm Howick born and raised. But I am not sure I miss it.

They tried to rip me off about 20 years ago. Wrote off their entire chain after that. Actually between them and a car yard which had a Nissan Skyline I wanted to buy. The experience was so bad I learnt how to import my own cars and parts back in 98. The car yard tried to buy one of my imports. Was a very satisfying day.

That's awesome. Everyone should snap these up. I'm in the US so everything ships free. I was in a bit of daze and had forgotten that. -
550i. Oh well get ready for much more expensive repairs. When those valve guides die...

I just read this post. Was gutted I missed out..... It was a hard weekend at a Rock festival. -
You will hate to hear that I had trouble finding an E46 or E39 that was the spec I wanted that was not a manual. Had a few rentals in DC that were manual. Even an E60 550i which was good fun. But this is DC. Similar traffic to Auckland at times.

Sometimes cooling hoses can be different. Make sure you find you part numbers via realOEM first. Enter the part numbers into the websites above and there you have it.
-
Yup FCP Euro, VAC Motorsports, ECS Tuning are the best sources. They do OEM or aftermarket. You can get seal kits. Upper and Lower. You can also get hose kits and service kits that include the pump etc. You may want to look at some upgrades too. Jump on their websites and input your vehicle details. Go from there. Just remember it's in USD and you will need to pay GST once the stuff arrives.
-
Thought about bringing back a classic of some sort. But I pissed around. Need to own it for at least 1 year or you pay GST.
-
Yeah good point. haha. I was thinking of buying a 335 or 135 when I come back from the US. But here they are 6-10K. And there are so many manuals.

Atlantis is amazing in person. One day.

Oh it will. I did learn one important lesson. NEVER work for the Government. It feels like every department is full of people who failed at what the actually wanted to be. Yet they still scramble over each other to get the next shitty role.

Surprising. Probably one of the most common colors here in the US. Bimmerfest East had quite easily a dozen of them parked in the mob of 30 odd M3's and M4's. Very popular for good reason. I do wonder if it will age well though. BMW picks some pretty timeless colors. But then you get the baby poo gold of the E46 M3. It dates the car badly IMO.

I'm going through all that sh*t right now. I'm working a fill in job in the US for Immigration NZ. INZ is shutting down all their overseas offices (bar the cheap ones in India and China). I couldn't care less about the job. But it does mean I have to find other crap to do whilst I am here and I have to go through their joke of a process. Many promises have been made. But I don't trust them at all. Trying to get something in writing has gone nowhere so far.

I drove something like this a few years ago as a rental in Canada. 1.6 turbo got along quite well. Can't remember what it was. Brand new Hyundai of some sort. It wasn't memorable but it was comfortable, had enough power and great on gas. I do remember everything feeling over assisted. Dave's comment triggered my memory of driving it TBH. Can't go wrong really. Bet it will last forever too. I liked the color.

As long as you have the car fully checked over by an indy. Corrosion is a nightmare. The M3's I have a look under here in DC are shocking.

All I can add to this is Do not buy an Audi. Not until you can afford a warranty to go with it. -
Just stream the World Cup for free. A stream for any sport can be found for nothing on Reddit. There is even a reddit motorsport streams sub. Racing from all over the world. Sky is about to be purchased by one or the other biggest c**ts in industry. Fox or Comcast. Both bidding for it. (Excuse the language but they are both the ultimate forms of scum)
