Possible. All dependent on grip levels. If there was traction loss with the old tyres and none with the new etc... With traction control on the vehicle may have limited power if the older tyres were starting to loose grip upon acceleration. This would increase 0-60 times.

Yeah watched that this morning. Just replace all the old suspension with Spec E30 stuff. A few of the BMW sites actually sell the spec E30 package. R888's work well on E30's. The series runs them and they are great on the road and track and won't murder your wallet. You will need to buy a bushing kit after a bit though.

Shot out for lunch today from Albany to Ponsonby. Pulled up behind a van that was doing 85kph in the center land past Wairau. Something wasn't right though. It was tailgating the car in front so bad I told my friend who was driving to back off and change lanes. That's when I realised the van was being towed. We quickly passed this rolling death trap. The tow rope of which had been broken and rejoined in the middle was about 2.5 meters long. Staring at this sh*t in amazement I was shown the middle finger from the driver. The van then decided it wanted to change lanes and started changing before the car was ready. Shifty as. It gets worse. Just ahead I see another POS van tailgating a crap old Ford Falcon. Thought sh*t no way. Yep. Being towed with an even shorter cheap rope that had been looped many times to give it enough strength. They happily struggled over the harbor bridge. Called *555 to report them but many had beaten me to it. I did mention the plates on the cars looked suspicious as they did not suite the years and on the two cars were only held on by one bolt each. This sh*t exists on our roads.

Over the road from me there is a guy who owns an old MX5 with a horrible sounding exhaust (even for an MX5). We have nick named him 'Throttle Response'. As he likes to blip the throttle between 5 and 10 times as fast as possible when exiting and entering his driveway. I wish his shitty little car would die already.

Each E60 is different. There seems to be plenty out there that are missing half the M features. Most common is the sports seats are missing. And they are a must have.

Prices have only ever increased. But that is expected from a monopolistic organisation such as plates.co.nz I don't see what the police are doing as revenue gathering. They would spend more in fuel per week than they would each bring in with $200 fines for plates. But they are pretty much working to protect the monopoly that is plates.co.nz. If they mean to or not.

You only hand in plates when the registration of the car is changing as you said. These guys are not changing their registration number. They are copying their plate for the purpose of enhancing aesthetics. The original plates are stored and still registered to the motor vehicle. Only an idiot would run them on another vehicle creating a duplicate on the road. Though I do know of some people that did this for an extended period of time. Only takes a few to ruin it for the majority. This topic has come up a number of times in the past though. If you live in Albany beware of a pom cop who will remove the plates from your car. He gets very angry when you query his logic that you could use the plates that are registered to your car to steal fuel from gas stations....

There was a couple of bell housings for the 265 on Ebay about a week back. Can't remember what they mated to though sorry.
