It's a heavy car. But would easily complete a standard 8-10 lap race. Read 200miles range. And that was at 70mph with no brake regeneration. I don't have a spare 100k to turn one into a race car. Stick to the E34.

Had a Tesla Model S for the weekend. Went on a road trip up to a massive cars and coffee meet (2000-2500 cars). Tesla is amazing. Loved every bit of it. From the Auto Drive feature to the always there torque. Didn't miss an exhaust note the entire drive. 200+ miles to a charge. Charges for free in about 45mins to an hour at well placed stations. We did about 470miles and 80% of that it drove itself. I just sat there looking around. Was strange. Would happily own one as my daily driver. And the petrol burner for the track only.

I use Uber wherever I go. DC is great for Uber. Cheap and the cars are new and drivers really strive for quality of ride. I marked a guy as a 3/5 for not listening to the way I wanted to go and Uber support were straight onto it trying to refund me for any inconvenience. Sort of expect that for a 1 star. NYC was great for Uber too. We got Uber Black cars everywhere to fit in 5 of us. Escalades, Suburbans and all the other junk/flash yank tanks. But comfy and so cheap. Don't forget you can split your rides with Uber too. Not pissing around with cash or multiple cards. Just get out and walk away.

Can get them for .70c here. Not that $6 is much though. Found a place that has all the classic ones for sale still in boxes. Working with a collector friend to find all the rare ones.

This is a three year old thread BTW.

I towed my E34 with my E60 530d. Which I recently sold for less than 15k. Don't be scared off by higher mileage 530D's. In NZ they work out about the same with fuel and Tax costs. However the diesel is far superior when towing and long distance. I did 1100kms on a tank with some spirited driving.

Yeah it's gold. The Serbian guy who owns the car didn't get why we were laughing.

Just got back from an awesome trip. Nascar is great when you are there. It was like Talladega Nights IRL. Everyone yelling and cheering. The noise was DEAFENING! 10X louder than any other motorsport I have been to. And the track was so small the noise is there 100% of the time. Quickly purchased ear plugs. Still deafening but no longer painful. Was hoping there would be sweet cars in the car park to share. But it was Southern Virginia and if you drive a car and not a truck you are a female. Every second person was wearing their hunting camo as everyday attire. The Roadmaster was just as floaty as you would imagine. But it sat on the 70mph speed limit no worries. Surprisingly it is not very roomy inside. Massive Boot and Dash means less cabin space. The steering is so vague it was just like steering a yacht.

The great crap you can rent in the US. Family trip down to Virginia for Nascar tomorrow. Thought we would try fit in. Buick Roadmaster. You're not a driver. You're a Captain.

Weddings. Why the sh*t would you hold your Wedding on New Years eve. Now I have to fly back to NZ for Xmas and New Years of which I had planned an epic trip around NYC and Chicago. I expect it will cost me around 8k to get there and back. Mrs best friend trapped us by making her a bridesmaid. Oh and it's in Napier. I really don't like Napier. Boring.

I don't know many young couples who have $80K-$160K sitting around for a deposit. Unless their parents are helping them. Auckland and Wellington are totally different to the rest of the country.
-
It is most likely we will come back to NZ in a few years. Only because the family is all there and we don't have a green card. Wellington or just North over the hill will be our choice. No way will we return to Auckland. I will become a bloody farm hand before I go back there.

Oh god. The propaganda is strong in NZ huh. I tell locals that the average house price in NZ is over $800K and show them a few pictures. They wonder why we stay there and why someone would pay that much money for a sh*t house. Then I remind them they can either vote for Clinton or Trump and they ask where to sign up.

Very safe these days. Unless your a gang member on the East side. So much more livable than NZ cities. And far cheaper.

Instagram is coming to an end. Implementing the same BS "We control your content" that Facebook has. Will have to find another great place to look at car pictures whilst taking a sh*t now. I have never seen so many cars with damage as I have in DC. Nearly every car has hammered bumpers front and rear. I have watched how it happens. Everyone just uses the cars in front and behind to feel their way into car parks. It is worse than you think too. I have seen some near new cars with a ton of damage. Friends of ours said to never buy anything nice whilst living in DC. Prob just get some 2002-2005 E46 330i that I won't care about. Dime a dozen here.

Facebook being Facebook is spamming my feed with what and who it feels is relevant. Getting it 100% wrong as per usual, by showing me all these whinging posts from people I don't know, of which someone I bearly know has clicked "like" on their misinformed anti right rant. My rant is more directed at facebooks shitty filtering. Doesn't place my sisters post in my feed at all. But does chuck in some halfwit never heard of DJs post about something I have never mentioned or participated in. Using Facebook less and less. It's a good thing.

Facebook. Then having Facebook flooded with lefty anti Key tears and rants because they didn't get their sports logo as a flag. The Trump voters of NZ.

It was good times between 97 and 2003. Mostly harmless. Then fast cars got cheap.
-
It was when they really started cracking down on "Boy Racers". Killed the scene off for quite a few years. 2006-2010.

Woh. Overseas and only just read about this. Very harsh even when adding the previous convictions. I know a guy who ran from the police for 45mins running multiple road blocks finally getting spiked. Should have looked up to see Eagle sitting there. He got a slap on the wrist and less community service than this guy. Lost his license for 6 months but got a work permit. Nothing more. He was heavily involved in illegal drag racing and had been caught running from the police once before. Tickle for one person. Kick in the nuts for another. No consistency.

They get snapped up so fast over here. Everyone is all Hyped up over them. Every auto mag you read seems to have a "Best Drivers Car" article that features the E30 M3. Everyone seems to think they will drive just like the DTM cars they remember seeing on TV.
-
What you should be wondering is how you can drive this race car on the road legally.

Welcome to the internet.

Baby sh*t Yellow is my least favorite. Reminds me of when people painted there cars Burnt Orange and Gold.
