Yeah I agree. As much as I love turbo's I do prefer that older BMW 6 sound. Even the old M20.

Agree about changing your profile pic to a flag to show support. Very few of these people will donate or help. Just like that sh*t Ice water challenge of which went viral yet hardly made any money for the cause because nobody actually donated or sponsored people to do it. I read about the bombings in Iraq via BBC. If you didn't hear about it I suggest stop reading left wing sh*t rags like the NZherald and stuff. The difference is that France was attacked by a foreign entity that doesn't belong there. Iraq has a tribal mentality similar to some African nations. Tit for Tat violence. Today's victims are tomorrows murderers. It is hard to distinguish the innocent.

Prices have only ever increased. But that is expected from a monopolistic organisation such as plates.co.nz I don't see what the police are doing as revenue gathering. They would spend more in fuel per week than they would each bring in with $200 fines for plates. But they are pretty much working to protect the monopoly that is plates.co.nz. If they mean to or not.

You only hand in plates when the registration of the car is changing as you said. These guys are not changing their registration number. They are copying their plate for the purpose of enhancing aesthetics. The original plates are stored and still registered to the motor vehicle. Only an idiot would run them on another vehicle creating a duplicate on the road. Though I do know of some people that did this for an extended period of time. Only takes a few to ruin it for the majority. This topic has come up a number of times in the past though. If you live in Albany beware of a pom cop who will remove the plates from your car. He gets very angry when you query his logic that you could use the plates that are registered to your car to steal fuel from gas stations....

Wish they had stuck to the traditional model numbers. But the car sounds great. http://www.digitaltrends.com/cars/2016-bmw-340i-first-drive/

They prob thought the Miss part was BS and you were actually an overweight 50 year old man about to start grooming unsuspecting M3 owners into handing over their cars. Bet they thought this and the alarms went off.

Are you after a box or full conversion? Try ebay. Add it's more like $$$$$$$$$.

This is more likely an issue with your browser. There are no restrictions on you as a user. What browser are you using? Try another if you have one installed. Firefox or Chrome preferred.

Looks good. It looks like near none of the E28 body is there though. Tube frame with E28 panels bolted to it. There is a car here in NZ with even more work going into it. E21 Group 5 rep. https://www.facebook.com/Elan-Motorsport-662026323873874/

There was a couple of bell housings for the 265 on Ebay about a week back. Can't remember what they mated to though sorry.

I don't think there is any racing in March next year for the series.

Damn was hoping to get at least a little bit for my one Fingers crossed your 3rd gear syncro's are not stuffed. Pretty sure they are twin syncros in this box. If it does need some love send it up here to Kayne Barrie. Knows his stuff.

The importance of pre-purchase inspections/inspecting thoroughly
Driftit replied to andrewm's topic in General Discussion
Interesting. A guy at my work who liked my E60 then went and purchased an 05 X3. It broke down on the way home from the dealer. Two coil packs had died. Not more than a week later he went on a road trip and was stranded with his family in Keri Keri. Went into limp mode and gearbox was not sounding good. Ended up costing around $5000 to sort that issue. Not sure what it was exactly. With many an argument he returned the car for a full refund and they covered all his expenses of having to hire a rental car etc. Went and purchased a Honda Acco..yawn.. But will not ever purchase another BMW due to this poor experience. Just another neglected BMW -
Not heard of it. Link?

I could have helped but I am leaving NZ in late Feb sorry. All my cars will be sold by then.
-
Just a heads up. The sedan has less back seat room than the coupe. Only bonus is ease of getting into the car.
-
It's not turbo. Still a nice car though. It was often at the car shows attached to the race events.
-
He hasn't been on here since Aug 2014. No longer a sponsor. His deals were not all that sh*t hot anyway. The sparco gear he had listed was about 30% more expensive than what Cardwells sold it for.

E60 Motorsport front bumper getting pulled off all the time........
Driftit replied to NUSTAD's topic in General Discussion
Really there should be a maximum height these things can be. The ones in my work carpark are fine. Quite low, reflective and they still stop people from driving into the wall. -
E60 Motorsport front bumper getting pulled off all the time........
Driftit replied to NUSTAD's topic in General Discussion
Ha this happened to us the other week. Same side pulled off too. But this time it damaged all the paint and slightly creased it. It was a larger than normal bumper destroyer though. Going in to get repaired next week. It was the first time it has ever caught though. Many years of owning lowered cars has taught me never to park forwards over these pointless things. Momentary lapse by the Mrs parking in the dark one night. -
This. Kayne takes no short cuts when it comes to BMW drive lines.
-
I did go and have a look. But even 25% was far more expensive than what Supercheap was selling. So yeah there must be some losses going on.
-
Cheers. I went to go get some Valvolene they had at a great price two weekends back and it was all sold out. You need to get in there real early.

An observation from E39 540m to E30 323
Driftit replied to LemonHunter's topic in General Discussion
The perfect E30 setup is what Josh and James has and had in their E30's, Passing dirty super beetles in James' E30 at Puke race track was great. But there is nothing wrong with sticking with the cheap old easy to maintain M20. You can get some respectable power out of them. B25 Block with B20 pistons and a M50B28 crank. Re-mapped Motronic 1.3 and you are away laughing. For not a lot of money. Otherwise go M50. I am meant to be selling my E30. But I just don't want to. It is too much fun. -
Isn't this what Tesla wanted? They did release all patents for the tech after all.
